  1. In August we went a 8.67@ 158.53mph in the 1/4 with a stock R200. I hope to break the 160 zone the next time out.
  2. You are the Burnout KING!!!!!!, The car looked GREAT as always, nice pass.Jerry
  3. Just to add a note: They also make different width belts, you might be able find the same length but skinner width which would make the belt deeper in the v grove. Just a thought / or reverse it, you might have a skinny belt and which is not wide enough to grip the V as well..... I have also change out the alternator pulley to the moroso bigger pulley which also has a deeper v grove. Also I would not think you would have turn a big block over 6500 rpm's to achieve the power you are looking for. John
  4. Yes you can cap it. Do not need a return line for that pump. How ever if you do run a return line it will make the pump run cooler. From what I was reading max fuel press for this pump is 6lbs. John
  5. I contacted Tokico and they suggested the Illumina series struts, they are 5 way adjustable. I am running the stock stub axles.I am still using the strut cushions. Thanks Jerry
  6. I am changing the struts on the rear, but the struts or on B/O. When I get them in and installed, we will be headed back to the track. I picked up a motown sbc block last week. So now we can start on the bullet-proof bottomend. Then we can turn the BOOST up to 29 to 30 psi, and make alot more HP. I am looking into trying a set of 255/60/15 M/T Drag Radials too. Thanks Jerry
  7. Scottie, It's good to hear from you. I drank a whole keg of turbo Kool-Aid! I think this is where I will stay, on the turbo side of the fence. BOOST is a wonderful thing!!!! Thanks Jerry
  8. I hope we can get together again in the near future, and by the way I also have a 2jz engine on the engine stand. Maybe that will be our next project ? Thanks Jerry
  9. John always wanted to build a blower setup, and we had alot fun with the setup. But from now on I will be TURBO all the way!!!!!!!!Yea Baby!!!! Thanks Jerry
  10. Posted video on youtube. More video to come, had a couple other guys that filmed. Here is the link: or you can youtube jnjdragracing to see more videos. John
  11. Thanks,The 60' was a 1.39 and the 1/8th was a 5.61@128, the car has been a 5.58@130 with a 1.37 60'. The Toyota calipers is a cheap up grade for front brakes, you can check in the brake forums.
  12. Went to the track last night and had a great time, but we had to deal with some suspension Gremlins, but on the 3rd pass we went a 8.67@158 which is a new record for us. I have been wanting to get in the 8's for a long time. Some of you may know the car but for those who don't. It is a 1976 Datsun 280 Z with a 355 sbc with twin 67mm turbos F.A.S.T. fuelinjection on E85, the rearend is the original unit with a 3.54 gear ratio, but I am using the MM companion flangs so I can use the 300zxt CV axles. Stock drum brakes on rear, and stock stub axles ( I know I am CRAZY).The R200 is one tough BEAST. But I am using the 4x4 Toyota calipers on the front brakes. I hope by year end to go in the low 8's. I could not have done this with out the help of John my Brother, Jerry Boatwright and Chris Tuten. John will be posting videos in the next day or so. Jerry
  13. That hurt, hate to see the carnage, but at least you can put a ultrabell housing and salvage the trans.Good Luck!!!! Tomorrow, I will be getting our Z ready to go to the track Wednesday night. I went to a 16Volt battery and changed the front and rear travel.I hope to go even faster. Jerry
  14. Mike , just pm jnjdragracing we both use this username, and I am Jerry the other half of jnj thanks.
  15. Hey Mike, My brother Jerry has two pair of the Hooker Comp headers for the z car. One set is our old one's and the other set is coated. Not sure if they will work for your setup or not. They worked fine for us. Since we went with a turbo setup we are not using them anymore. If you are interested in trying before you buy you pay shipping I am sure he would let you try them. PM him if you are interested. John
  16. Why remote when it is possible to have the turbo up front and still run a stock hood.
  17. Here are some pictures of our Z.,I know the post said engine bay but the last one could find fast.
  18. Thanks Adam, Boatwright sold his Z , but now he has a twin turbo mustang that goes in the 4's in the 1/8th.You need to stop by sometime. Jerry
  19. Thanks Jon, I am now working on upgrading the brakes, I only plan on running the 1/4 a few times, most of our tracks run 1/8 th only. I will probly put a chute on it in the future. We still have about 10lbs of boost left in reserve and will use it here shortly. I enjoyed talking with you the other day and good luck with tis season. Thanks again Jerry
  20. You can use Autolite racing plug AR### whish is short. If you are tuning and need to read the plugs then use NGK racing they also come short and have a chrome like finish and are easier to read. They come in different heat ranges so you will need to know what range you need. John
  21. Thanks Davy, the first two passes had 1.39 60' times and the third pass was a 1.37 60'. Chris told us last night by looking at the data the last pass should been around 8.40 @ 162mph. I am have a few things I am going to change on the car, nothing major, just experimenting. I think and hope we can pick up a few more tenths, I hope. Thanks again Jerry
  22. youtube video is now uploaded of our three passes.
