  1. Looking good Uncle Wayne.......... Maybe the next DNI for sure.... Would love to see it run in person. John
  2. He hopes to be at the next DNI along with us. I am going to the Dyno tomorrow with our car, and hope to run it this weekend. We need to post some new pictures of our car and the Silver Bullit. Boatwright (Silver Bullit) has been working with his car and has made alot of progress. He is currently recovering from a surgery he had yesterday. Thanks for your reply Gabe.
  3. I have a spare set of brand new remans(A1 cardone)I have $250.00 in them. I will sell them for that plus shipping.Jerry
  4. I have a candidate for the fastest street drivenZ(Silver Bullit), He is a member of HybridZ. He has a 76 280z with a sbf. That went a 8.62 @158 on Radials two weeks ago. The car is titled and insured. Full interior, not a gutted race car.We are planning on taking it on the Hot Rod power tour next year, this will be his second Power tour. I will try and post some videos soon.Jerry
  5. Wow, just saw your rear end setup and wheelstand pic. How do you get it to hook like that? Is it all in the tires and track prep?

  6. It looks like everybody had a great time. Sorry we could not attend this time. Looking forward to the next one. Glad to see some old friends having a great time. I hated reading about the mishaps that happened Friday the 13th but I am glad all went well. John
  7. I loved the videos, gets my blood boiling..... You should be running a low 9 with that mph, man I bet the turbo is pulling strong on the other end with that mph. Hopefully we can get our z back together in time for dni on the 14th, my brother Jerry will not be able to make it but I will try. It just want be the same without him. We will see where we are after this weekend. And again congrats on the nice numbers...... John
  8. I voted for you, good luck. John
  9. I used to order all my stuff from Jegs - telephone order and they were quick to ship and never had any problems with them, that was about two years ago, then they started charging handling charges. Now I get my stuff from my local Speed Shop now, also to support my local speed shop. If it is a big ticket item then I might look to the internet to save on sales tax. John
  10. We use two holley pumps on the Nitrous motor, one for the carb which is bypassed and one for the NOS which is dead headed. One is the black holley which is rated at 14psi and the other is a blue pump. If one dies then we can do some re-routing and ony use one. We also caryy a holley pump rebuild kit just in case..... The Aeromotive pump is nice but expensive, but you do get your moneys worth. Same with Barry Grant. If you go with one of these pumps then you only need one then you and tee off to carb and NOS but you will have to run at least a 10AN feed and 10AN return line.... John
  11. Welcome aboard, shoot me a pm with your contact info and we can get together sometime to look at your new project. John
  12. 1st set of photo's 1st engine, 2nd set blower engine, 3rd set alky blower engine (too much power), 4th set new NOS engine. Soon to come twin turbo engine. John
  13. Max Torque: 605.20 Rear Wheel Setup: Stock 280z stub axles, Modern MotorSports companion flanges to accept CV axles. 300ZXT CV axles, R200 welded posi differentials, 355 gear setup 28x9x15 ET Drag Slicks .
  14. It is looking good. Question for you, are you going to leave the fuel cell that low in the car. The reason I ask is we had ours low also and had issues picking up the fuel because the filters / pump were alot higher than the sump. Just a quick thought.... John
  15. We are running angle plug heads and we use the hooker supercomp headers made for a Zcar. It is a tight fit with angle plug heads so I have had to space the headers out some by double or tripple header to head gaskets and I had to dimple one header tube but it is workable. We also use a motor plate installed up front and a rear mid-plate. they do not get in the way of headers etc. You can also place the engine where you wnat it. On ours we tried to get the number 1 cylinder lined up to the center of the front wheel.
  16. From my experience I would make sure the radiator is clean and is flowing properly along with the water pump. Also the following reasons for a thermostat is to get the engine warm for heat, also its purpose is to open and allow water to the radiator to be cooled then open again (cycling). If it is too low then it will open and never close to allow the water in the radiator to be cooled. If a 185 is not doing the job and the radiator and water pump check out then go up to a 195 and see how it does. John
  17. If it is the stock suspension is should hook up pretty good. We are still amazed at how well our Z hooks up and launches. John
  18. We presently are running the 3.54 gear ratio in our R200. We use a 2 speed power glide with the 1.82 1st. We were using a 3.90. We tried the 3.54 and it picked up our et. This was with the 355 SBC with the 6-71 supercharger. Now with the 412 sbc and NOS we still use the 3.54. We would probably pick up some et if we switch back to the 3.90 on HP because it is slow moving but on the NOS it runs good. If we put the 355 SBC with the supercharger back in we will probably try to higher in the 2.?? ratio if we can find it. I guess the higher HP you have the less gear you need. John
  19. The idea sounds good to me if you are planning or trying to buy a new car and your present vehicle is dying or is in bad shape. Which does help the new car market. I have a old plymouth van that I keep around for a third vehicle and also is good for moving stuff around. It is tagged and insured. I wish the goverment would give me a check for $4500.00 and I could do with it what I wanted. I would probably give up the old reliable van for that. Personally I do not want a car payment in this economy at the moment. John
  20. Yes it was in NC where they ran 4 lanes at once, we did not make the cut. Hopefully we will have a millisecond of some air time, probably on the outtakes footage. I am not sure of the number you were talking about. But they did flash a number in staging and we had to run faster that that which we did. John
  21. We made or 3 qualifying runs but they we were not in the group they picked. We were there along with silverbullit a pretty silver s30 also. John Here are some pictures from it.
  22. Which track were they racing own? We ran the pinks all out at zmax and should be airing August 6th. John
