  1. Thanks, yea all this with a R200 with CV axles converision. Several years ago with the supercharged motor we ran a best of 9.21@ 153 in the quarter with halfshafts and a SEZ shootout. This year I plan to go deep in the 8"s ,I hope.
  2. Did the intercooler piping and took more photo's. After John get finished using the transmission and converter, it should be less than a month before we do dyno teating. Project getting real close to being finished. Here are som photo's. John
  3. I have been looking at mounting a radiator flat or cooling the motor with the intercooler tank and heat exchanger. Jerry
  4. Getting closer , I picked up the New torque converter on Friday, and ordered the intercooler water tank. Next Tuesday will finish up the Piping (intake). Then start the wiring, and running new fuel lines.
  5. Great to see your back (and Flying) I hope you and your Famliy are doing well. Can I get a couple of bulbs or car links. Glad to hear from you. Jerry
  6. NIce project and yes that is hot rodding. Nice job on the brackets. I agree I think a cowl hood would be just fine. John
  7. We used to run a 400sbc with nitrous (250 shot) , just on HP we ran a 6.40 1/8 mile and on the gas a 6.00 if I remember correctly. We were using the the stock half shafts on the R200 rear and also had 3.55 gears. Used M/T ET slicks. I think 60 ft. was a 1.40. Half shafts did live, but we always had to check the u-joints. Then we added rubber bushings on top of the struts to help eliminate alot of the squat and also limited the front end travel as well. We did start snapping the ujoints. Reading your post you did not mention if you are using cv joints or stock ujoints? If we bet on a race I was always worried about snapping the ujoints and losing the money. So if you are still running ujoints I would advise to go ahead make the switch to cv joints. Since we made that change we have not had an issue at all the half shafts. Still running them and have been through alot of engine swaps since the old days, all the way up to blown 355 alky engine. My brother Jerry is now almost complete with his new twin turbo setup in the z car. Good luck on your build. It is looking good. John
  8. Well all the exhaust is plumed, and I took to the Muffler shop( Brian, and Chris Tuten) to get them to order all the alum pipe for the intake (compressor side). I will post some new pictures this week of the progress this far.
  9. OUCH!!! I hope nothing was hurt. The car looks GREAT!!!!
  10. Davy, still not using wheelie bars, and don't plan to start. My bddy calls them sissy sticks.
  11. I bet it is a blast to drive, GREAT looking car and install, let know how it goes at the dyno!Jerry
  12. Davy , it should be faster than the carb(gas) blown setup, and we never got a good pass on the FI alky setup, but we will keep posting on the progress. Now we will be tuning with a laptop.I talked with the the Guys I purchase the turbos and they feel confident we should see around 1000 RWHP or more. YEE HAAA!!!! Thanks Jerry
  13. I wish we still did have the DNI shootout, that always helped us to get motivatived with meeting a deadline, I hope to finish the piping in the next couple of weeks, i found the intercooler I want ,and plan on ordering it this week. Glad to hear from you Deja. Thanks Jerry
  14. I am going to mount one under the air dam, horizonal with a electric fan.
  15. A long time in the works, but the project is finally coming together. We have had a Blown Carb combo,Blown Alky combo, a NOS combo ,and now a Twin Turbo Combo on E85. I want to thank ScottieGNZ, ZGAD, Rip (ZebraZ) and uncle Wayne, for information they shared with me years ago.I purchased the Turbos from Brian and Chris Tuten ,and they will be helping with the tuning. More info to follow.
  16. I would do what grumpyvette said but also I would loosen up the rockers to keep the valve springs from being loaded. Could make them loos there tension. At least that is what I did with my alky engine when I stored it for a 1 1/2 years. John
  17. We used stock fram rails for several years with out any issues, When we upgraded the rollcage we installed the bull dog fram rails, I think that was the name of them. The fram rails was a easy install, they wrape around the original rails and you weld them in, but of course you want to get the car up on jackstands and make sure it is level an so forth before you start burning them in. Jerry
  18. Well I had a friend who might be interested in buy my blown alky engine. He lent me his drag truck and I put in the alky engine and took it to the track, I was driving this time and Jerry was doing double duty filming and lining me up in the burn out box, also since it was cold he had to spray de-icer on the butter flies of the bird catcher because they were starting to ice up. In the video you will noticed I went to neutral a few times, need another gear or two. The thing is a beast and turns up the rpm so quick. John
  19. I used sheet metal and made patch panels, thrn I grinded it down and then applied bondo. Less is better or cracking will occur. See photos below: John
  20. I love our R200 and it is still going strong and more HP coming soon.Jerry
