  1. We were only running 1/8 mile and letting out of it and coasting through the 1/4 mile. Based on out last run we should be deep in the 8's in the 1/4 mile. John
  2. John will be posting the time slip and videos in the next day or so. Thanks Jerry Here is a photo of the time slip of our last 3rd pass. I will be posting video on youtube tonight / Friday. Posted video on youtube. You can search for jnjdragracing, or here is the direct link.
  3. Well we went to track tonight for the first time in two years. The car and motor did GREAT!!!! The first pass was a 5.89 @119 mph in the 1/8th rolled through the 1/4 at 10.00@91mph, second pass turned the boost up and went a 5.74@125mph and rolled through the 1/4 at 9.54@103mph and the third pass we turned up the boost to 18 pounds and went a 5.58 @130 mph,and rolled through the 1/4 at 9.25@106 mph. We had a great night. I would like to thank John(my Brother) and best friend, Chad,JB, And Chris Tuten for all there help. John will be posting the time slip tomorrow. Since this was our first outing with the twins I decided not hang it out through the 1/4 but maybe next time.Jerry
  4. I am running stock stubs,so far so good, and CARQUEST brand stock struts on all corners, I do have limiters on the frontend,so I can adjust the travel. Jerry
  5. Yea, it has evolved, but I feel like it is for the best, but now I can see the christmas tree with out leaning over in to the passenger seat. With this new set up I hope we can run faster ,by bring in the boost when we want it, and ramp it up as well. Thanks Jerry
  6. Thanks for your reply, the glide that is in the car now is the first with a transbrake.I made limiters for the rear struts so when under hard launch the shafts are straight with no negative angles. This prolonged the life of the shafts but after10 to 15 passes I would have to replace the ujoints. Since we now are using ,and have been using the 300 ZX Turbo CV axles for 3 years ,we have had 0 breakage, knock on wood. Thanks Jerry
  7. uploaded video to youtube last night. You can search youtube for jnjdragracing or this is the direct link below. John
  8. Thanks DavyZ, will be heading to the track in a couple of weeks, and looking forward to seeing what kind of ET's will have. Jerry
  9. Thanks Turbo Meister, John should be posting videos of the dyno pulls tonight, and we will be posting videos when we take to the track in a couple of weeks.Boost is a wonderful thing.Jerry
  10. Great to hear from you, have you talked to Rip lately?I talked with him about a year ago. I still have the turbos he gave me,and I was going to use them but the build kept evolving. So I have the two Holset turbos and I bought rebuild kits for them if you know any body needing them. Good luck with your build. Jerry
  11. We are using the 300 ZX turbo CV axles with stock control arms, with no problems. For the first couple of years we ran halfshafts using CARQUEST gold ujoints with some breakage, At our first SEZ shootout (DNI) on our second pass I broke both halfshafts, but I had enough spare parts to finish the event. We went a 9.21 @153 mph on haft shafts that day. Then we went to CV axles and have had no breakage yet. We will be putting them to the test in a couple of weeks with the new set up. Jerry
  12. Here are some photo's of the front of car put back together and also the dyno sheets. I will be posting the video footage on youtube this weekend. I wanted Jerry to go up to 30psi boost, but he settled at 20 psi. Off to the track we go. It was so cool, did not have to pull a single wrench. All done with the laptop which was cool. John
  13. We went to the Muffler shop in Columbia today to have the car dynoed, Chris and Brian Tuten have been the Best. Chris started by writing a program for the car, and then we started doing pulls. The first pull with like 2 lbs of boost we made 412 hp, we then went to 5 lbs and made 517 hp, so we then tried 10 lbs and it made 633 hp Yee Ha !!!! We then went to 15 lbs and made 762 hp, but wait we took a vote and decided to turn the wick up a little more to 20 lbs and made wopping 847 hp , and I am on cloud nine. All these numbers are on a chassis dyno at the rear tires.I want to give a shout out to my brother and Best friend John for helping me get to this point. We will be taking it to the track in the next couple of weeks, John will be posting some more pictures and maybe the video of the pulls.
  14. Well , John fired it up for the first time last night. All is good no leaks .He has been hard at work finishing up the electronics. I made a appointment to go to the Muffler Shop ( Dyno) week after next.
  15. I took the Z over to my Brothers shop ( John ) last week ,so he could get started on rewiring the electronics, and new FAST fuel injection system. Then it will be off to the Dyno, and then the track.
  16. Mike, Thanks for the reply, you and Scottie or one of the reasons I have taken this path(Turbos) and Rip (Zebra Z) is the second. You were the first Z with the R200 in the 8's and I hope to be there shortly myself, our mph was 153 and that was enough to get a 8 sec pass but we were baby off the line at that DNI event.I miss the DNI (SEZ shoot outs) too. How did the Techno toy rear swap work out? I have watched this video alot , several hundreds of times I know. The last time I was follow your post you had ordered the TT setup for the rear, and you went to a 88mm turbo. Are you still running this setup?I talked with John this past week end about starting our other Z project. It is a 74 260Z that I bought several years ago, it has the frame rails in it all ready and a 9" ford rear with ladder bars. But, I want to see how far or fast we can go with the R200 setup. Thanks and GREAT to hear from you.Jerry
  17. 9.21@153 but hoping to go a good bit faster with the Twins.
  18. Picked up my new powerglide and converter this weekend ,so I am still hoping to dyno next month and take it to the TRACK!!!
  19. Well were are getting closer, today John ( my best Friend and Brother )came over and finished the braided fuel rail lines and turbo return oil lines while I fabed the mounting brackets for the water tank and trans cooler. We worked on the fuel cell adding the AN 12 bung, and figuring out were to mount the fuel pump in conjuction to the cell. I am hoping to have at the dyno and then the track the first of march. But time will tell.Jerry
  20. I am glad to see this post, because I am still using stock type strut inserts and stock springs.Nice pass, how fast are you running and what type of combo?
  21. Thanks ,That is a watercooled trans cooler, and water tank that are made by Chiseled performance.
  22. This is the factory rearend that came in my Z, we have been lucky so far. I have put down alot of 1.30ish 60' with a best of 1.31. The Blown racing fuel motor made 700HP at the rear tires and when we went blown Alky ,that motor probly makes around1200HP at the rear tires.I will keep using to R200 until I tear it up .Then I will look at other options.I looked at your build, and the R230 stuff looks very nice and I like the SB2 engine ,it should be a MONSTER and Bullet proof. Good Luck Jerry
  23. Here is a picture one of the Hybrid Z family made into a poster.
  24. The intercooler is a precision pt 1000 sheet metal , it is mounted in the coweling and comes out just behind the glove box door.
