Oh, MSNS was succeeded by MS1-extra (developed by .... jsmcortina IIRC). Plain old MS1 code doesn't do spark and nor a lot of other things.
-
I do. But it holds down under the rear deck under where the 240Z storage compartment would be.

msqur monday Update 0.3a MSQ compatibility improved: 1.13, 2.0.x and 2.6 files working. VE Normalization added (click 'gear' icon, click the checkbox) Fix colorization checkbox so it works. Known issues: VE Normalization cannot be undone by unchecking Axis normalization, whatever that is, isn't enabled. Might be dropped. Some MSQ files won't work. Don't have schema versions so I'm working on it case by case.
-
Most people have moved on to MS2 or newer. It's got much better support. It also have finer spark and injector pulsewidth granularity. TunerStudio is much easier to use than the original software, which is no longer maintained.
-
Thanks. VE Normalization shouldn't be too hard. I can add it to the front end.

Update 0.2a Added engine info form on upload: displacement, cylinders, compression, and NA/FI fields working. Basic browsing works. Added blank search/stats pages It's now a bit more usable. Still, until I settle on a database structure stuff's going to get wiped out every now-and-then, so keep that in mind.

How'd you add the strut connectors in space?

With an intake venting system you can run a catch can with some fine mesh to catch most of the oil. You'll still get some oil in it, but much less. That's what I plan on running, eventually.
-
Thanks. I'm going to try and work on it at least once a week. I've got other projects in front of it though, not counting my day job. When these projects get held up or finished I'll be able to devote some more time. Again, I could use some help if anyone is willing to contribute.

Hood fits, especially with Maxima intake. TTT strut bar also fits on mine, but it's close. Have about 1/4" between it and the intake. The VG33 has a larger crank pulley that won't fit. My cheap ebay pulley is about 1/2" or so above the steering rack. Eventually I'll get an ATI Damper, which at 6.5" or so should fit as well.

Hey guys, It might be a bit early, but I figured I'd spend too much time on the wrong things if I didn't involve the HybridZ community in it. I emailed Phil Tobin (TunerStudio guy, also great developer) to get his input and possible help, but haven't heard a response so I'm going ahead now with the announce. A while back I made a Java application to view VE and spark tables, but it wasn't really that useful. I decided to redo it and learn some new web technologies while I'm at it. The idea is that I was tired of seeing people try to share their msq files on here and on the web in general, as passing around files that people have to load the full tuning software up to view is really annoying. So now you can take a look at a tune file from (hopefully) any internet enabled device. So I made msqur.com. It's very beta. You can upload .MSQ files and view them at the link provided after uploading. I'd like your input on what you want to see from the MSQ files. Please don't say "everything." Read the latest posts in this thread as I'll be updating with features added, known issues, etc. Browse Engine info Search Some constants (inj size and whatnot) More table options (drop down of which VE, spark, etc). Warmup/cold start tables and values Add engine size/# cylinders/forced induction or na/etc. into search VE normalization (so comparison on the same engine setup is easier) ??? If you know web development, specifically AngularJS and PHP, and you'd like to help out I can give you access to the repo. I plan on making it public soon, as the project will be open-source. Also, if you break the application/server and can document the process, I might give you some BTC.

Good TIG welder for learning to weld on
BLOZ UP replied to MazerRackham's topic in Fabrication / Welding
Hobart EZ-Tig is just a repackaged Miller Diversion. I have the Diverison, it's great but I'd like to have more controls, esp. for AC welding. -
Thanks! That was me turning too soon after braking hard, causing a weight shift that threw me off. I knew I was late braking and it would probably fish tail as I turned in but I didn't expect a total spin out. It's not very forgiving in that regard.

I drove my friend's LS1 Miata over the holiday break. It was a lot of fun. So much fun I'm considering swapping the VG33 for it. We'll see. Going to get the VG33 dyno tuned first, then I'll see if I need more power.

Awesome. Love the dash in the Mk4s, reminds me of the F40.

Good TIG welder for learning to weld on
BLOZ UP replied to MazerRackham's topic in Fabrication / Welding
You guys are reviving an old thread. Still, I've been eyeing a new Everlast. I've heard good things as well, and it's got a ton more features than my Miller Diversion at the same price. -
Ok, I found one in the space plane hangar. It's my experimental HX orbital payload deliverer. 4,300 m/s dV brought about by 95,400 kN of thrust lifting just under 4,000,000 kg. Technically it hasn't delivered anything yet as the dV is not quite enough for orbit (with me behind the wheel, anyway). I'm having slight engine balance issues causing minor direction vector errors.

Kerbal Space Program, for those that haven't heard of it is a neat sandbox vehicle construction simulation centered around these Kerbals and there space exploration dreams. As of today, it's on Steam (Steam Greenlight?), as a "Early Access" game. However, the current version as of writing is 0.25, the official beta and it's brought a lot of changes and a playable career mode. Unpaid shilling aside, let's see what you've made. I've fired up KSP on my work computer but don't have any good craft. I'll have to check back later. Pro-tip: Press F2 to disable the GUI before taking a screenshot (F12 for Steam, F1 for game). Please submit images and descriptions of craft with Stage/dV info in descriptions fitting of a Kerbal Engineer.

Interesting. Do you have any mods? I have Kerbal Engineer/B9/KW/Chatterer ... and one of the robotics ones, can't remember the name. What's your T/O Weight? I'm trying to make one of the large cargo planes into a SSTO to carry a huge rover, but ended up needing boosters. Well, I guess technically it's still just a single stage since all engines activate at once... Otherwise I just try to make ridiculous stuff all Howard Hughes style.
-
So your team is going to demo this in KSP, right? You should fire it up again, 0.25 added a bunch of features. Any of you guys make a space plane (SSTO) that can actually take anything worthwhile into orbit? I've got rockets down well my my space planes all have fuel issues getting back.
-
In the desired circular orbit, vertical speed is zero. It doesn't matter what the horizontal velocity was at max altitude if the vertical is zero, and you're out of fuel (and atmosphere). Since we're suborbital, what you can do to reach the same height is alter the trajectory. Do the people have to survive re-entry?
-
I've got 200+ hrs in that game. And many lost Kerbals.... RIP in peace. That game has done more to educate me in 'space is hard' than any book. Relevant XKCDs:

Took for possibly the last drive this season. Got a little tuning done. Breaks free in second gear at 10psi. Spent the rest of the trip too scurred to give it any gas. Didn't want to pull a Phil.

Woah.

I don't recall seeing any definition of either pleasure driving or commuting. Then again it's little me against their entire claims department. Like I said, I've never been in a position to test it, I was just saying it's not spelled out in the agreement. So years ago when I signed up I asked about driving to work and got a general "You can drive it but you need to have a regular commuter with separate insurance" response. I drove it once every other Friday or so this past summer to work. But I was also data logging the entire trip, so really I was acting as the mechanic and working out issues.
