sorry to bring an old thread back from the dead, but im having issues timing my 82' l28et and dont want to post another thread about it. my question is on how to properly set the timing. Should i have the motor set at TDC, and have the oil pump shaft aligned according to its dot. What ive been doing is setting the motor TDC then backing the motor down until the timing indicator on the pulley is pointed at 20º BDTC. Then set the shaft @ 11:25.

jake, you werent home but your car was open. BAD JAKE!! lol...well anyway i took a look at your linkage and you had it setup upside down. I took the liberty of fixing it for you and all you need to do now is connect the throttle return springs to you heatshield (not installed)

check your linkage jake. The linkage for your old flattops are different since your running the round tops now.

yes it will bolt up because you will be reusing the stock driveshaft. It may need to be shortened due to the sr tranny being longer than the z trannys. Go to http://www.vildinimotorsport.com/. They are in Mission Viejo and do swaps in z's with quality work. Ask for Alex or Adrian. FYI - 200sx rear ends are a 4.11 ratio but they are not lsd. If you so happen to want to get rid of it, id be more than willing to buy it from you.

i think its a great idea. Do something that you would like for yourself instead of what other people want done. If you feel this is the way to go, then do so. Plus since you say that an l28et is rare to see around, youll get bonus points for being original:grin:. oh btw, id be interested in those webers if you decide to ditch them:p

Beta Motorsports have complete struts and assembly available but i dont think theyre what your looking for price wise when comparing other coilover systems for more modern cars. http://www.betamotorsports.com/

i used to go there before the prices were increased to race. I go to the SDR SCCA autocross events instead now. Free to watch, and worth the $$$ to race.

im in Oceanside but im usually down in San Diego about 3-4 times a week. I usually around clairmont mesa/ la mesa area during those times.

perhaps your crank pulley outer ring spun... resulting it improper ignition timing? You should check it by pulling a plug and use a screwdriver to determine proper TDC. -
non of them were matched up equally (mods). But the concept of drag racing all the generation z's was pretty slick.

i dont think it carries an lsd but it would have the r200 4.11 (10mm) rear end.

thats good to know... i will keep my order with summit racing then unless they notify me that it will be substantially late than expected. I have already gone the ebay route and almost got shafted for it. (didnt get refunded until a month and a half later)... long story in a different thread. Thanks for the tips you guys. -
hi guys, i was wondering where I could find just the rear sway bar from suspension techniques. I already have an order placed with summit racing but the expected arrival (shipping) of the sway bar is 5/18/2007:shock:. If there is another place you know of where I can order and receive it soon than that date it would be greatly appreciated.
