  1. i was finishing up my engine build when i noticed my rear (6 cylinder) cam tower had a shim on it. I didnt notice it until i started on the exhaust valve of the 6th cylinder. The pivot point for the rocker arm was way higher than the others. I also noticed the lash pad was different color than the others. As of now i have the valve lash on that one valve correct but im worried that if i ran the car i would have BIG issues. Now if i were to remove the shim, would adjusting the lash pad be back to normal like the others. And also would i ruin my headgasket by taking out that one head bolt in the rear in order to remove the cam tower shim? *edit* the head was bought on ebay from ur-gelis through another z owner. Its freshly restored but this has me worried.
  2. yeah i feel stupid, its in your sig. Well then in that case, ill let you know how it feels:icon46:
  3. yup, exactly how mine is. I love how light it is compared to my stocker. How do you like the way the car drives with it? is it too light for daily driving?
  4. i guess im just being paranoid, i brought it to my local machinist and he said its no biggy. He cleaned it up a bit and installed the dowels for free.
  5. i just got my fidanza flywheel in the mail today and was wondering if these scratches will affect anything. My digi cam isnt working so ill have to post pics later. They seem to be very fine scratches but some are very visible. I dont think it should cause any failures (heat glazing, etc). These are located right on the surface area where the clutch disc sets.

  7. take a look at this... http://atpturbo.com/root/releases/release103105.htm i used it on my honda and it held boost really well for high boost apps.
  8. yes they are on the same stroke... edit: hahah i meant same stroke level... damnit you got me
  9. does anyone have their contact address and phone number?
  10. this is so uncalled for and very immature... im pissed off because im still doing further research on ZT carbs/rebuild kits and im trying to get information from there site. Then i see these dumb banners stating their team and how they hacked Ztherapy.com... *sigh* end rant... i just wish people have something else better to do than try and hack code all day long just to feel special...
  11. i had a turbo 02 civic si and your right about other cars challenging hondas... its almost like you cant turn down the fight. It was definitely a fun car to drive (297hp, 243lbtq), i would look more into building an eg or ek and dropping a k20a2, k24a2 motor.
  12. hey guys, i need some information regarding the SPEC Stage 1 clutch. this is my setup that i am running and im wondering if the stage 1 clutch would handle the lightweight flywheel. It says it can handle 267lbtq, but im still weary about it (since MSA recommends using a centerforce II clutch). Id rather run the SPEC clutch since ive used them before on other cars. 1981 280zx NA Flat top (10.5:1 CR) N42 head w/ MSA head gasket MSA 6-1 header Dual S.Us Carbs Fidanza Lightweight flywheel P.S - oh yeah BTW this motor is in a 72' 240z
  13. awww low blow... i own a 02' civic si:ugg:
  14. ooo please get that wiring diagram up asap i would love to see how you did it. Im still pissed that i cant get this thing up and running because of wire issues.
  15. any news on this? im starting to have the same problem. I have an 82 l28et.
  16. what year is it? and is the ecu still in it>?
  17. wow... that is amazing man... great job. My car is actually going through the same thing you are, just not as clean. Oh and i wish my megasquirt would work too. I can't wait to see more videos.
  18. it sure does look like the disc was installed in reverse...
  19. bumpidy bump... well i have been running my car on carbs just so i have my own source of transportation. But now my junkyard (85' 300zx turbo) seals died on me and so im blowing smoke like a smokestack down the road. So now im kinda forced to finish my Fuel Injection project and have to purchase a new turbo. If there is ANYONE from socal (north county SD area) who can help lend a hand with my megasquirt. PLEASE it would help SOOO much.
  20. yeah the release point is fairly high on the clutch. I did replace everything (clutch set matched)...
  21. sorry im just ranting because im so pissed... well anyways, i bought a clutch from autozone early october (stock clutch l28et/ beck arnley<---i think thats how you spell it) and after 580 miles its starting to slip bad. I dont see how it could be especially since its new. I installed everything as carefully as i can (no grease, threadlock...etc). Oh and to make things wierder, i havent even hooked up my turbo setup yet. I have my carbs on it to break it in. has anyone had issues with faulty clutches before? any from autozone? could i have a clutch not meant for my application? i have already talked to autozone about it and they keep telling me my warranty was already expired (90 days) even though i installed it 2 weeks ago. Also kept saying i installed it incorrectly. Perhaps i did, but im 98% sure i didnt. *sigh* end rant...
