  1. i thought id like to share this with you guys. Its a video comp. of myself and my other friends which are pretty fast BTW. Its nice being fairly even with all my friend's cars. This is a lil video i made of me and my friends. Have fun and be safe. http://youtube.com/watch?v=gL5KaOtR3lU
  2. i have a turbo 240... PM me your number and we could meet up. If the price is right i may just get rid of it.
  3. posting a thread while celebrating eh?
  4. ive been running my na block w/ felpro headgasket (close to 8.8:1cr-p79/f54flattop) for almost 3 months now on 12lbs of boost. To be honest, i was expecting the headgasket to blow more than anything else and it has held together so far.
  5. i believe big-phil was running an n42 block with na pistons with a P90 head. He was running 18-20psi on a holset turbo + megasquirt for a while until he had problems.
  6. F54 NA and Turbo pistons have bigger ringlands (thicker?)... the NA dish pistons from a N42 block are thinner but can still handle pretty well when properly tuned.
  7. try adjusting the valve lash on that #1 cylinder. Then do another compression test. I saw a video from this forum that had # 2 and 5 i believe down at 125 while the rest was like 160. After the valve lash everything was back to normal.
  8. notice the ground down cam lobe:cry:...
  9. i say just replace the head gasket and move on until the time is right to rebuild the motor the way you want it. Last thing you'd want is to start another motor project with funds pending. Replace the gasket, and don't lean towards the "while im at it" bug"
  10. i believe doing so would put a lot of stress on your (stock) torque converter. I dont know what the stall speed is for our cars but if you were able to get it close to redline that could be bad?
  11. i run a 31" overall and it does not fit well. I had to cap off the endtanks and make my own inlet and outlet. I had no choice seeing as i got the intercooler for free:)
  12. yeah, im trying to find a way to make the L motor turn smoother. It would be awesome to build an L series to go up 10,000rpms. Im going to see if i can make up a design using CAD and apply it to this motor.
  13. http://youtube.com/watch?v=nj2nlF1hkEc&mode=related&search= Ive been part of the honda scene for quite some time now and thought that this maybe something worth looking into. Its a block brace designed by Spoon. Just thought that maybe something like this could benefit the L motor seeing as its not one of the smoothest inline 6's around.
  14. thats exactly what is happening. At low load there is little to no noise and the car idles fine. But when theres load it basically sucks... whats weird is that it comes and goes, but as of now 70% of the time it does this anywhere over 2k rpms:sad:
  15. hey guys, ive been having this problem. My car idles perfectly, however... when i give it throttle there is a knocking sound. At first i thought it was my valve lash so i adjusted it. Now that its adjusted im still getting the same sound. I know what bent valves sound like at idle but cant explain why it is doing this only on throttle. Any help/advice would help. Thanks
  16. i know there were 2 versions of the wheel concerning the rivets. I think the design changed on the 16x8's midway through production. Half of mine are the newer design and the others are the older ones. Ill try to get pictures posted up on it.
  17. Exposed - Knock Off Parts On the outside, the two adjustable GReddy Type-RS blow-off valves look the same, but inside, they are vastly different. The difference in diaphragm seal design and construction is obvious. The fake valve's seal is as thin and fragile as it looks, and has begun to rip already. View Related Article - interesting article i stumbled upon while researching those cheap knockoff blow off valves and other "performance" material. Definitely backs up the saying "you get what you pay for"
  18. i have the same thing going on. When my motor was carbeurated it stayed dead center. Now that i have the l28et FI stuff it stays chill at 1/3 guage.
  19. hey if you do end up going to UTI, ill be going there in august as well.
  20. have you checked your throttle linkage? It may not be opening up all the way. I know i experienced this thinking i had a boost problem (5psi), popped my hood and found that there was more throttle to be had.
  21. i have those SM needles if youd like them. I ran that almost exact setup and it pulled strong to 7k. Youll need a better fuel pump most definitely.
  22. i have them on my car and make a world a difference when i autox. Most notably would be the initial turn in response and front end grip.
  23. i have a 5 spd from a 280z if you want it. Let me know.
