  1. that kid is seriously retarded...
  2. Yeah, i like mgb's too, it was one of the cars i was considering getting actually, but i finally decided on the z, i feel i made the right choice
  3. Yeah, it's on the car, i just wanted it done so i could get my car running, which has not happened yet, i still need to fix a few things. i posted a thread of it done.. all the welds grinded down, but with it not mounted. search for "euro balance tube" if you want to see it. I myself don't have my own welder, and the teacher doesn't like us bringing projects in, he's kinda strict, so wouldn't have had a chance to get it done in my class... thanks again though PeterZ
  4. tig and mig would be more useful more automotive applications, take that, and if they offer a lab where you just weld, take that too...but you should probably take the basic class first, just try to focus all you can on tig [for welding ss and alum] and mig [mild steel, all your body/chassis stuff] though, as those are the processes you'd most likely be using...i took smaw becasue i didn't know what to take, so now i have to learn mig to do my floor and firewall...
  5. http://www.bullsballs.com/chrome/truck/balls.html LOL
  6. my friends in high school did that winshield sprayer thing too...
  7. any chance of you sharing? i've wanted to do that ever since i saw it on a '32 roadster, does it rotate? i've thought of a design as well...
  8. I've had this idea for a while, and just thought it'd be really funny if someone has made some pop-out dummy gatling guns, that come out of the battery inspection lids. baybe have a button that makes them spin or something... ahhh dorkdom.... and maybe an ejection seat or two, or an oil slick...lol
  9. that link takes you to an r200, here's the r230 for the TT http://300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=pd&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=15&design=default&total=43
  10. there are lots of threads covering this topic. just search for "lexan"
  11. It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. You might want to check with one of the other datsun forums like zcar.com or classiczcars.com because, as you may know, most of us aren't interested in keeping our cars original. Maybe try posting it in the classifieds over there...
  12. What guage steel do you recommend? I'm taking a welding class but its just been arc welding plate metal in different positions, so i haven't welded sheet yet. the teacher likes staying on task, so i don't have much help there... i've got a friend thats supposed to bring over a flux core wire feed welder, but he said he would bring it over like a month ago...
  13. do you have to weld them over the frame rails? i pretty much have to cut out my whole floor sans trans tunnel
  14. I'm trying to weigh my options of how to go about my floor placement. Has anyody used one of these? Anybody think the too intense restoration floor/framerail kit worth it at 260 bucks? http://www.datsunrestore.com/images/FLRPAN.JPG or should i try baddog's framerails & seat brackets and just get some sheet? or just sheet & some rectangle tubing? how much would i be spending just on sheetmetal? {i know some of the questions have been addressed, but i haven't seen anything about these products yet.}
  15. Here it is...all finished, i might polish it still though... Big thanks to PeterZ, who welded the holes for me, they were perfect welds.
  16. does arizona zcar still sell those?
  17. the diffuser looks really nice, but it doesn't look super hard to make either...it makes me want to try something like that because my roll pan is a little dented.. i think it'd be even cooler if the corner of the fuel sump was sticking out there
  18. jmortensen always seems to be the first guy to answer my posts, Tim240z, skipzoomie, and johnc also help, PeterZ is helping me with welding my balance tube, lots of inspiration from 240hoke, on3go, as I'm a youngin, at 19. and sr240z, for showing me how my car is going to look when it's finished... DaEvil, for leaving 2 rubber streaks in my driveway : ) But you learn a lot from everyone just by reading their posts...thanks everyone, this is the best z forum on the net...
  19. Anybody seen these yet? http://www.gomini.com/fs/vtec/vtec.htm
  20. Do you mean the BUSHINGS are bad, the ones that hold the differential to the subframe? I mistook that for bearings... those are 30 bucks lol... i'll check the pattern of the gears while i have it open just in case...
  21. glad to hear it could be the bearings... I've got the shafts, and it also came with a 300zx subframe...i'll probably sell it, if i don't need it to mount the diff.
