i think i may have found the problem, just as i thought...not enough oil. so i must have burned some at the track. the sr20 holds 3.5 quarts but alot of people are saying they use 4 quarts even. thought i'd add that for future searches

i didn't build the car a friend of mine did and i bought it just beofre i moved to texas. the point is that this all started happening after the drag strip. i'm afraid i may have messed something up.

i usually cruise about 2000-2500 rpm

ok, i just looked up oil capacities from a number of other sites to confirm and they're saying its 3.5 quarts not 3.25...

alright so, i went to the track this past friday and ran about 6 passes. on the way home i noticed my oil pressure was down to 30 psi. i stopped off and got a quart of oil and added a little, it then went up to 35 psi and cruising speeds. my oil pressure at cruising speeds in usually 41 psi. the next day i changed the oil and filter to see if that would fix it. now, it's only running 35 psi still. i looked up fluid capacities for sr's and found 3.25 quarts of oil on wikipedia. could this be the issue? is this capacity wrong?

theres an enitre z31 turbo car here in killeen, tx. its a far drive but it might be better to have the whole car. odometer has 149K on it. and the motor doesnt look too bad. i was there today...

ah damn! i don't remember looking. i'm sure at least one out of the 5-6 will have a good 5 speed in it.

nice job! doesnt look like your metallic modeled too much, you must have a good technique. now get some undercoating in those wheel wells!

Just like the z31 post i have, i also just wanted to let it be known that i have found about 5-6 280zx's in a junkyard in killeen, tx. I didnt see any turbo motors, but there are quite a few good body parts on these cars. If your interested send me a pm and i will give you directions.

Is "tran-x" a friction modifier? I went to 3 different auto parts stores and I finally found that stuff. On the label it said it stops chatter and noises from limited slip diferentials.

No, if it was the tires making noise, I would've said that. Not trying to be a jerk, but sometimes I come off as one. It's a popping noise when I'm trying to keep low acceleration and take turns.

I worked at a body shop for 3 years. All I did was stare at paint alllllll day! anyway, We painted a guys trans am (also fixing minor dents) for $4000. That was black too and it is the cheapest color. Your car is much smaller so in turn should be cheaper.

Ok, first off, I drive an sr20 240sx with a kaaz 2-way as a daily driver. My question was, should the differential make sort of a chattering/popping noise that i can also feel while driving in areas where low acceleration and carefulness are required (parking lots, etc..)? Thanks in advance. edit: I searched but only came up with results concerning fitment in r200's.

the back looks good but the front looked like a monster truck.

i had the same problem in my 280. i put the same suspension from my 240 under it and it looked terrible. not to mention the tires rubbing in the back

damnit! i wish i would've known about the car show. my z is up in ky where i live but i'm stationed at ft. hood an hour away. i have my 240sx/silvia here so at least i could still represent nissan. let me know if you all decide to meet up or something

well yeah, that would actually be easiest. but, i say that because you can make it darker or lighter depending on your own desire.

maybe i'm just saying this because i work at a body shop but you guys seem to be making it way harder than it is. just mix up some clear and put tiny drops of straight black paint in it. and when i say tiny, i mean tiny. the slightest bit will make a bigger difference than you will notice at first.
