  1. its ur job as the bf to "convince" her one thing i found with women is you can get them to do anything if u say things right haha.
  2. .... simply speechless... WOW
  3. wow! that looks very good condition!. now lower that bad boy + zg flares + deeeeep rims and ur good to go! good stuff
  4. good work, but i think it ruins the lines and uniqueness of the Zed... not really a fan of the product but love the work.
  5. dunno. the model brought it. looks to be
  6. wow this thread still alive! nice! a few from the past week or so:
  7. love this thread. how much boost/hp u planning to run and how much hp u reckon the stock internals of the l28 can handle?
  8. anyone have one up here? complete w/ harness. pm me w/ price! thnx
  9. holy... 500lb springs. just take out the suspension and weld the strut to the frame. good choice jay3, but to warn u, a Z car isnt as easy in daily driving as a mr2 miata civic, etc etc. its nice goin fast but once u mod it and daily drive, it gets anoying after a while... especially trying to U turn quickly in a narrow street.... i find the turning radius extra long...
  10. drawbacks would be less torque
  11. here's a video of potential and this has always been one of my fav datsun vids:
  12. if ur thinking of getting into a Z for the reason of getting an easy track project then dont. there are TONS of other cars out there that are alot easier (and cheaper) to get a good track performance out of than a Z. I'm not saying it's not doable to make a Z as good handling as a porsche, but its alot harder. If you love the look of the Z and the car in general, then take the dive; but be prepared to spend hours + money on perfecting the car to your own ideal. A comparison? hmm i'd say something along the lines of tuning a mustang to be a better handling car than a miata? yes its doable, but its goin to be alot harder and cost way more money too.
  13. if available i would love to just find a decent donar engine and swap it in. However it's pretty hard to find a cheap, good L28et engine up here. and for what it's worth, its not worth dealing with customs to find one in the northwest US... i have pretty good access to turbos, intercoolers, piping, megasquirt (all the major parts) so i wanted to ask if the other bits and pieces are interchangable between the 2 motors. thnx
  14. for 20g ? http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/cto/905086959.html
  15. thnx. yea i'd like to keep the stock head/block/parts as much as i can, in the future i'll just swap in a complete 280zxt engine. wicked. i'll take a read through that. that looks like exactly what i want to do i mentioned i'll be using megasquirt to run the system, and run sub 10psi boost. perhaps 7psi. ur sig link is very humorous as mikeatrpi mentioned in his thread as well , there are tons of conflicting info and majority of which are mostly 'learn to search you noob'. if i had 5 hours a day to look through the endless threads i would more than glad to find out info on myself than ask. i've been around longer than you have and more than familiar with the 'rules' of this forum, the reason my post number isnt 1000+ is becase i like to read more than talk, but my detective abilities arent as good as some and cant find the info i need, what you want me to do? smash my head against the wall? =P i do search.
  16. ive read that sticky, infact one of the firsts ive read. the guide suggests starting with a L28et engine. of course i understand if i used that engine, stock exhaust manifold wouldnt be a problem. im goin to use my L28 as base so i wasnt sure if the exhaust manifold of the turbo engine would directly bolt on, again the same with the downpipe. of course i knw i can custom fab a downpipe to any motor, i just wanted to knw if the oem L28et will fit L28. Ive been afraid to ask questions on hybridz anymore for this exact reason, i do search before i ask, just sometimes its not the exact answer i want comes up or looking over hundreds of threads is hard to find what you want. thanks for your reply
  17. ok ive searched and searched and searched. but prolly missed that 1 thread that tells me exactly wat i need for my situation. if anyone can answer my question or post a link to a previous thread that has already answered my question would be highly appreciated. all in short, i have a 78 280z L28 N/A engine. i have no clue what head/block i have so please do tell me if you knw, haha. but all i knw is i want to add a turbo to this stock engine. i would like to knw what parts i would need to make this work... i plan on running sub 10psi (response and reliability) and megasquirt system. adding a turbo to the stock engine is the cheapest and easiest alternative i can imagine to getting a bit more power (other options, engine swap, ITB) so what would i need?: -what exhaust manifold to use -what intake manifold to use -where to tap oil feed line -what kind of injectors and whats the max hp rating the stock ones can handle -what kind of downpipe to use, can the 280zx one fit oem L28 aside from the intercooler piping, i would like to utilize as much oem piping as i can. and for fuel pump i would just use a universal external fuel pump, but if anyone has experience with a good alternative that requires little headache, please do share the info. the threads i've seen has all been a L28et swap. or modifying L28et engine. so please link me a thread that explains these mods onto a stock 78 L28 engine, rather than say "use the search" as im about to rip my hair out from searching to no avail. thank you
  18. well we do own datsuns, they're meant to not be easy to figure out. haha
  19. yes i have the s12+8 calipers. mine is vented however.
  20. i just looked at ur build pics, nice and clean! im not sure if i have the toyo ones, i think i have nabisco? nabco? lol i cant remember, cars at home, im 3000miles from it =*( anyway as far as the postioning, its the same as mine, but either you removed the wrong bolt or it was a typo... i had to remove the bottom bolt, not the top, and tilt the caliper UP until the nipple was 12 oclock. heres a picture, u can kind of see the nipple is on the bottom since i had to reverse the Left and right side due to the positioning of the ebrake. so technically you even have to raise the caliper so the nipple is pointing beyond 12 o clock, even 2o clock. the 1.5" sounds about right. mines got a little less throw. i think its about 3/4" before it becomes rock hard. And yes, it's not linear, its just like 20% resistance then BAM 90% solid feel. How hard i brake just depends on how much pressure i put on the brakes, not how much the pedal moves like normal cars.... my friend hates it but i love it haha kinda gives a sense of security? i have the bigger mc though.
  21. OMG NOOO!!! think of the rust!!!
  22. ok so is ur pedal supersoft ? i assume thats the problem. i had the exact same problem when i did the full swap. wasnt reaction disk, wasnt mc, wasnt calipers. but there was just air in the system. took me 2 weeks to figure out. the rear 240 calipers when installed on the Z, you have to swap the left and right to get them to fit (at least i had to on my 280z) and i dunno if it was the swap or just the different mounting position than the car it was made for, the bleeder valve is not sitting at 12 o'clock, maybe at 11 or 10. because of that there is air still there that u can never get out if u bleed with it bolted down. you have to loosen the bottom bolt, tilt the caliper so the nipple is 12 o'clock and bleed some more (stick a piece of wood or something between the caliper while u do this since the rotor isnt there anymore). You should get a few good squirts of air out and hopefully, voila, hard as rock pedal. try that. that was the case in my situation. took ages to figure out and countless sets of mc/brake calipers, etc. pain in the ass
  23. nice! where did u get the 4 inch rear flares? i cant find them anywehere, i only have the 2 inch i believe
  24. for the first run, other 2 were damn close lol. shows that hp means nothing in autox =P
