  1. Take 2 months to decide on a pain job. I want gold. Wife corrects me and lets me know I dont want a gold or a white Datsun. Find the colour while checking out hot girl from BMW. Sakhir Orange it is! Crazy amount of pearl and gold flake in this stuff BTW. hit some test pieces
  2. Back to more freaking body work. Seriously pay someone to do this abuse, its inhumane.
  3. Sick of the rusties? me too. Buy some replacement parts, weld so much you deplete the local area or argon, get new doors and hatch because the old one are full bondo (grrrrr). Strip the car to a rolling shell (suspension will come later in the build). buy some flares, contemplate fender mirriors and start sanding
  4. Find an old wiring harness, work night shift and hide from foreman so you can build this madness (priorities!) cut it apart, remove shit, sort it, add a few wires for fan control, boom, stand alone. majic!
  5. Test fit time! Picked up some CS mounts. Truck pan was too deep so it was replaced with a $50 C5 batwing pan! (Score!)
  6. T-56 are hella expensive and I live near Toronto so play in a ton of stop and go traffic. I hit the wreckers and found a 4L80e for $400 CAD (about $11 US) Dump oil all over yourself and the driveway and then wire wheel the bastard 80e. Steal all the cat litter in the house for the driveway, call it a day
  7. I have been told "You can't polish a turd". I agree, but you can paint it gold and add an LS1 intake, .600" lift cam (tsp torquer V2), fuel rails, and forward facing headers.
  8. Decided to go 2JZ route but short change to LS because of the price performance and ease of finding parts. Engine found. L33 Aluminum block 5.3 $800 JY motor with under 100K kms (70k miles). Cut the tire well out and planned to install the LS fuel tank
  9. To top is all off the motor came with a rebuilt head but the rest of the L24 was junk. It has no compression and smoked like a tractor with proper weight oil in it. The wiring was held together with house marettes. I ripped it all out and stripped the engine bay. Gas tank was rotting from the inside. Removed that as well.
  10. This will take me a few days to get together. Summer 2015 I pick up one of my all time favourite cars, a 240Z. Cars looks great. But scrape away all the BS hiding everything and it has some serious cancer. Frame rails, engine bay, firewall, inside rockers, batter tray, and a ton more.
  11. Want spool and power? The old thinking of bigger turbo's wont spool fast is gone. You need bigger exhaust flow to make power or your choking the engine. I suggest the below unit. Ceramic ball bearing, it will spin. Turbonetics T-SERIES HP 66 4.0"/2.5" F1-65 T4 0.81 A/R 4-bolt / 3" V-band
  12. There are ZG wide from JPNGarage. There decent but not perfect. Body guy installed a set of Marugen Shoukai (sp?) and stated that mine we just as good. I bought the JPN ones this january from the new years sale. Jpn has poor communications but they did eventually get back to me. Both require welting
  13. Any chance you can send me a link, I tried looking and cant find anything.
  14. I dont let any of those guys bother me. There that one guy on there that has to criticize every non-oem thing you do to those cars. His rants always include he past military and staying in Japan.lol. All good. I have no idea with paint, I just let my body guy do what he things is best.
  15. The paint is not totally complete. It will need to be cut and polished when the weather get warmer and the paint has a chance to fully cure. The colour is 2014 BMW Sakhir Orange. I cant wait to get it out in some real light and see the gold and pearl shine though. New windows and seals are in transit. The trim, flares, and emblems are being painted satin black. I should have it home in a week or two. Jody came though once once again. There were a ton of repairs that had to be completed included replacing an entire frame rail in the front, patching some piece in behind the dash, rust damage from the battery location, fix where the PO used sheet meal screws to attach the front fenders, fabricate and weld in a camaro gas tank mount for the new fuel system, and more. We had to find new doors and a new hatch, due to excessive bondo found in the originals. The engine bay was shaved for a nice smooth look. There will be no wing for now. I am trying to find fender mirrors and pick out some 17x11 and 17x10 wheels. It will be home in a week or two and I will continue to rewire the entire car.
  16. Woohoo! Glad to see it back and looking better than ever
  17. I just used por15 under and inside the car then I painted over it with black paint
  18. Agreed. Owners name is Dave. He is best to deal with. They are always slow answering emais and returning calls. Please let me know if your require a deposit for a kit. I tried adding you on facebook. Heres my page. https://www.facebook.com/Merrill.Ryan
  19. Is team z going to be supplying these? I'm about 3.5 hours from them and have a ton of their parts on my mustang. Good company who make great suspension for mustangs.
  20. The raise transmission tunnel would be appreciated when trying to.reach the back bolts on my 4L80E bellhousing. I'm sure it creates a whole new set of set of issues with the interior. Loving the build, keep posting.
  21. Personally if you have the funds (and are stuck on T3) I would go Precision PT6062 T3 82 A/R with 3" V-Band discharge. I agree with Tim0, too many people pick too small of a turbo. I run an 80mm T6 1.10 A/R on my 5.3 and its a torque monster and it spools fast. The amall exhaust housings limit power up top due to excessive back pressure.
