  1. I assume your talking about whitehead? I have never used them myself. I live just east of you in Newcastle. This is what the previous owner paid back in 2012 to have a head totally rebuilt. On another note, they rebuilt the head on a totally worn out head. I actually tossed that entire motor in the bin because no one wanted it, rebuilt head and all.
  2. Cali must be rough for emissions. Are are strict here but at least cars older than 1987 dont have to be emissions tested. They do have to have all original equipment and Ministry of transportation can pull your car off the road if it fails an inspection
  3. Just to let everyone know. JPNgarage replied to me. it took about a week but I as advised he was just very busy. About 2 weeks after I recieved my flares. I will let everyone know how they first in a few weeks
  4. Same here. CXR kit. Motor sits lightly high compared to other kits but I have no other major complaints.
  5. I live close to that shop. Great place to deal with.
  6. I ordered my wide flares on Cyber Monday. I received the automated form for the received payment to my email. I have emailed the company twice and more recently message them via Facebook with no reply. I just want a ETA of when I would be getting the flares so I can plan with the body guy. Cars in the booth now getting all the rusties replaced and the gas tank mounts installed. We have to cut the 1/4 and fenders before we paint so were trying to make a time line plan.
  7. Its over 1000 US just for four fiberglass flares. Dont ask what the entire kit costs. Wings not to my taste. IMO too expensive for me right now. If the flare were reasonable close to other glare I would buy them.
  8. Why not just go on LS1 tech and pick up a good used cam. I bought a used texas speed Torquer v2, new unused push rods, new PAC 1218 springs for $300.
  9. My oil pan was $50 bucks used. Its the batwing pan from a c5. I did buy a new pickup tube. It actually sits 1" above the cross member using the CX racing motor mounts. I would like to lower the motor a little more.
  10. This is Ryan with the black fox body mustang with the mod motor. I will be out next spring with my 71. You really need a set of drag radials. You car should easily run low 14's with it current hp level. I will be investing in a set and you can try them out. Basically you need to hate your car more. Sticky tires and a high rpm launch. Your clutch may be slipping a little. Did you go to the dyno day I put on last year on Toronto with the Ontario Z car guys? Still love the car. Keep posting
  11. I removed my wheel well. I have a nice big 64L tank going in. My tank came complete with fuel pump regulator, line hooks up, pump, charcoal box, etc. Everything is there that I need. I am going to reuse the GM fuel pump connector to the fuel pump.Dead quiet, and OEM reliable.
  12. There are kits to drop in your engine. There are pre-made, 3 wire hook up stand alone wiring harness for $600-$800 that can be purchased online. You can save a ton of time that way. I personally and god with tearing apart a harness, removing what not required, adjusting wire length, re assembling connectors, wiring everything require to a fuse box, etc. If you want the car running quickly just buy the pre made stuff. Elimintate many of the issues by DIY. If your poor like me, here is a good place to start for the harness http://lt1swap.com/
  13. only thing expensive about an LS swap is the 5 speed transmissions. Everything else is very cost effective compared to other swaps
  14. This is my problem with the CX Trans Mount kit, its not square
  15. Exactly. I was concerned placing it over the steering rubber. You setup look perfect;y placed. I have the big plastic pedal.
  16. I wish I could find a shell that clean. Cars pretty damn awesome.
  17. I can add a little to the CX thread. I have no issue with the kits other than the height makes it a little difficult to fit a 4L80e in the trans tunnel of a 240z. The kits fits well and is constructed well. My Transmission mount was welded slightly crooked and after sending in a few emails CX racing, they never answered. I called and left two messages, again, no returned calls. I'm going auto so it doesn't matter much to me other than the monetary loss. Here is a few picture of the clearance. Oil pan is the C5 batwing which is the shallowest of pans out there. It sits about 1" above the cross member. Keep in mind the engine is slightly tipped back because the trans is out currently.
  18. I would like what pedal and how everyone mounted the pedal on the firewall. I have an 2006 truck TAC and pedal and I having a hard time making it fit. The offset of the pedal isn't working out well. Anyone know what pedals can be swapped ? CTSV? Monte Carlo? Corvette?
  19. Sorry edited. Yes drive by cable. I have the 05 Tac box and pedal assembly but I would have to mound mine on a weird angle
