  1. Well I test fitted the engine. I just bought the motor mounts and trans mount. I will be going auto with paddle shifters.
  2. I started the turbo system for the LS Datsun 240Zthis week. I am using the cast steel truck manifold for the headers. I cut off the flanges that hit the frame rail and welded on some 2.5" exhaust tubing. I them attached a 2.5" v-band clamps. Since the headers and pipe are different sizes there was some filling of holes (including one I made.. Whoops). Metal was built up and then grinded off to give a smoother look. Trying to make it look pretty. Looks like I will be going twin chinese GT3582R's. Fun fun.
  3. Tons of room for any oil pan you want. It needs t be shallow. This is a shot with the stock truck pan in a non-lowered 240z
  4. Aluminum radiator are fin in street cars. My mustang has a Mishimoto Aluminum rad in it for over 3 years. Car is driven to and from the track. Makes 521 HP. Not one issue since install.
  5. yeah, wow. I would be ashamed to post mine. I have kids crap every where on top my of my car crap
  6. Thanks for all the imput guys. This is clearence with the CX racing kit. Seems like it sits pretty high? I need to get some 2.5" exhaust tubing. The 2.25 stuff I have is too small. My vband clams arrived. I have tons of room using the flipped truck manifolds. I have 2"+ of hood clearence. I have room for the 3.5 - 4" down pipe. I want twin turbo but I'm going single turbo because basically its cheaper. I found a place in York region the actually bends mandrel pipe for cheap. Nice have local business for support. Exhaust location hood clearence. Fenders are at the top of the broom stick.
  7. So much room for turbos, I Guess I will include them in my build.
  8. Fantastic project? Someone brat me to the rad question above lol.Keep posting!
  9. THe color is fantastic. The interior work is beyond my expectations. Keep posting
  10. Well as far as budget builds go LS is damn cheap.my all aluminum 5.3 was 800 Canadian (600us) 6 speed trans and stock clutch was 1300 cad. Rewired the harness my self which was time consuming but easy. So for about 1600 us plus I bought the cx swap kit. All is pretty damn easy and as cheap as your going to get

  12. Cars looking great man! You record and salt flat runs?
  13. That's an awesome looking kit. I would have gone for that if I had not already purchased my kit.
  14. I'm in the midst of figure out how to fit a 4L80e in mine lol.
  15. if the 60's giving you trouble dont try the 80, its a much gbigger trans. One member here has it installed. The connector was the biggest problem. Is the 4L80E worth it in our light cars?
  16. The truck intake will hit the hood and is too tall. Looking inot LS1/Ls6 intake or BBK SSI, or Fast
  17. I would prefer the 4L80e as its a much stronger transmission. I am going auto with paddle shifters and I talked to one person that fit a 4L80e in a 240z tunnel. I just wondering has anyone one else put one in and what what your experience?
  18. Should clear? do you know for sure. I have an LS1 intake that I want to swap out for the midrise but I think it will hit not just the hood but hood latch
  19. My car is in fairly good shape with the usual spots replaced or repaired. I performing an LS swap and I wanted to POR15 the front 1/2 of the chassis before I move ahead with the motor install. Well I found a reall bad spot. The metal on the top is all rotted, the under side is still structurally sound. I was think of cutting out the bad area's and replacing them with another piece from a good Datsun. The passenger side is rust free other than some surface. You can see from the braising alone the frame tail the car must have been in a accident and repaired years ago.Has anyone replaced this area on their cars? Can you post a picture? Thanks Ryan Rust Shot Car pic this past summer.
