Thanks guys for watching the short vid and for your comments. I just purchased a brand new Black NPR intercooler (the largest one , same one as ScottyGNZ's) and that will be my next project. Also got the piping in the mail from Precision Engines (2-1/4" mandrel bends x 6). Can't wait to get it all in there. I'll keep you guys posted

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. That's exactly the kind of wing I was staying away from when I picked mine. I don't even know the guy...apparently he works for the dealership

Just wanted to share some photos from our car show at Douglass Nissan in Henderson. Don't let the sunny weather in the pics fool you...we got some rain towards the end of the show. Anyway, enjoy the pics. http://r33b.net/photos/030103/ (pics are courtesy of JC)

Hey BBZ...looks like you got her out on the road for a vid I tried downloading the vid but it had an error. I also clicked on the link to no avail. I'm on a Mac though so it might work for others.

HOLY SCHMOKEES ....it's scary how something so beautiful can become a twisted piece of nothing in a matter of seconds. Well I guess if he had the money to rent a track, then he prolly has one for everyday of the week.

hey Mudge, it works fine with Netscape...wierd eh?
-
Hehe, yep pretty much. It does sound more higher pitched at 15psi...followed by a quick wistle. The vid was shot at 12psi. Glad it worked for you guys.

Is it working for you guys?

Hey guys, Mudge was nice enough to host my vid so here it is. RIGHT CLICK to save it, dont play it from the location http://docmudge.tripod.com/ratedZ.mov I'm still having problems downloading the vid from my Mac (it only lets me download 9KB?) but it looks like it works for most. Enjoy...I know I did.

ratedZ replied to ratedZ's topic in Turbo / Supercharger
Cool! So I was going to shoot some video last night...started with some introductory and as I back out from the garage one cop passes by haulin arse followed by three more. Needless to say, I pulled the car back into the garage and took it as a sign I'll definitely have something by this weekend. -

Vacuum hose on the BOV & a question about the adapter

I'm using hotmail for my email account and anything over 1mb won't even go through sooo I would prolly have to transfer the files through an FTP server. -

Thanks Mudge...it doesn't really matter what format it is as long as it works but I will be taking the footage with a digital camcorder along with the sound. I'll load the clips into my Mac and format it with Quicktime. Soo...it will be the sound + the vid. I'll keep the size down but I will need to somehow get the file to you....maybe FTP? Thanks for the help! -
I got my RFL installed last night and lovin it. This unit is pretty hefty and the pssshhhtttt sound it makes is ungodly lol I'm taking a video and sound clip of it this weekend...I just need someone's help on hosting the vid.

Vacuum hose on the BOV & a question about the adapter
ratedZ replied to ratedZ's topic in Turbo / Supercharger
OOHHHH YEAH BABY!!! this thing sounds friggen schweet! Thanks for the help guys and yes the welder worked perfectly. I still have the steel adapter and I will be using it for the final IC install. I used the copper one and it was pretty hard to work with that flange. I've been told that the mild steel will be easier to weld. Once the compressor bypass valve was installed, I didn't have to add any washers. It stays shut at idle and works great at WOT...psssshhhhhttttt. I made some kids on their way to school jump on the side walk this morning. It was priceless lol. I'll be taking a sound clip of the BOV sometime this weekend. I just need someone to host it for me once I have it. -
Well, I got my TurboXS RFL BOV today and I'm going to install it (temporarily) so I can practice welding etc. I'm waiting for other things before I can do the intercooler. Soo, first question: Where do I attach the vacuum hose? I'm guessing that you can T off into an existing vacuum source? Second quesion...the BOV came with two types of adapters. The manual only mentions one. One adapter is copper and the other silver. The silver adapter is thicker than the coper adapter. Does it matter which one I use. I have an arc welder from Wallyworld and I'm ready to play lol. Anyway, I know these questions are basic but I couldn't find the answers in the archives. Thanks guys!

haha, that's too funny man. It's eve funnier because they have no clue what the hell their talking about. Like the other day for example, I just got done installing the TurboXS Dual Stage boost controller and I was about to go out for a spin to see exactly where my boost sits. I get about a block away from my house and I see these rice boy's hanging out in the front of their house. I drive by slow as I don't speed through housing areas and I just happened to hear one of them say slow POS. I wasn't in a good mood that day so I busted a U turn and pulled up next to them and I reply "Did you say something about my car?" They just looked and stared but not S talking. Then I finally said, it's slow huh, any of you wanna race agains my POS (while revving the motor)? Of course no one said anything and basically gave me the evil eye lol. So I just shrugged my shoulders and took off as I said "thought so"....ahhhhh that felt soo good lol. I know it doesn't prove poop but man I bet they almost pooped their pants when they saw me bust a U lol. The looks on their faces as I confronted them about that smart ass remark was priceless.

Man I love those Watanabe wheels....hmm, I got some family in Osaka but I bet the shipping will be crazy.

Hey guys, I posted this on zcar.com and have been told that I need to clean the head as the valves are sticking. I've been pointed towards using SeaFoam but was wondering what are the alternatives to getting them cleaned. Any other engine flushing kit that is readily available from like say, Auto Zone? OR can I clean it by hand while on the car? The car has not suffered in the performance range but wanted to get rid of the annoying ticking noice. By the way, this is my first time cracking the engine open ever since I've owned the car for 3 years so please be gentle lol.

Installed TurboXS's Dual Boost Controller (very cool)
ratedZ replied to ratedZ's topic in Turbo / Supercharger
Yep, I love their products. I also purchased their BOV. It's the Type H RFL. I'm guessing that RFL stands for Real F'ing Loud lol. -
This is one of the first things I have done so far in my first stage of intercooling build up. Still waiting on other components to really get into the build up but was able to get the boost controller on Friday. So I couldn't wait to install my new toy. Anyway, the install was fairly easy as I've already had a Dawe's device controller. The hardest thing was running wires for the "top gun style" flip up switch. After everything was done I took her for a spin. Adjusted the first controller to 10psi and the second to 15psi. I hit WOT at 10psi and reached down to flip my super cool switch lol and hit 15psi while boosting...it's almost like having nitrous lol. I love this thing...can't wait to get everthing together.

Of course not they never make anything for the lowly 280zx Us 280zx owners always have to make things on our own...
