  1. oh I c ....any thoughts on the MKIV units? They seem to be smaller but I belive that they are 5" thick.
  2. Hey guys, I know that the newer TT Supra MKIV intercoolers are really good. I've also heard about the MKIII units...so I wanted to make sure that THIS is the MKIII unit. Also, how efficient is this IC and would it be good for around 350-400hp (in the future)? I don't want to spend another dime on an intercooler if I can get away with it and these seem to come up once and a while on ebay.
  3. I live by the rule "put up or SHUT UP!" I've had my share of trash talkers and I have forced respect out of them by kicking their arse. I never talk about my mods or talk smack before a race... you just never know what's going to happen and I don't want to look like a jack ass if I get my ass handed to me. I can tell you that its even sweeter to win against a big headed bobble head who thinks his "muscle car" is untouchable. Seeing them pissed and puzzled makes it all worth it
  4. Until after reading this thread I had no plans modifying my tail lights as I'm quite satisfied with it's looks not to mention the difficulty level of this mod kind of scares me. BUT I'm totally digging the round look....it just looks at home with the Z's body lines. Hmm...this will be something I will be pondering about. In the mean time check out http://members.tripod.com/zphreek/id33.htm Maybe a cheap alternative?
  5. Just got a set of hood pins for my 83zxt so I can keep it slightly open while driving. I know that there are a few guys that have them on their Z's and would like to know how I could screw the nut from the bottom. There are two nuts...one goes on the outside and the other under the body panel...the metal sheeting is sandwitch in between these two bolts. I just can't figure out how I could hold the bottom bolt so I could screw the metal pegs onto it. Can I gain access from the side if I remove the fender? Any ideas?
  6. hmmmm....maybe I should look more into this then since I live on hell lol . Doug's highly modified 280zxt turbo 2plus2 has this set up. Anyone have the link?
  7. Hey ZR8ED, I see the beast is treatin ya well. I was wondering what type of BOV you where running. Is it really really loud? I've seen one from TurboFX I believe that claimed to be one of loudest in the industry. Thanks and try to keep your foot off the gas pedal lol.
  8. That is a sweet Fairlady. Can I ask you where you got those S130 Fairlady mirrors? I've been wanting to get a set so I can mount them up front but I have been unsuccesful. I'm close to giving up...I might just use the stock one I have now. Hopefully the arm base is not too short.
  9. looks like it's time for some spacers...
  10. I'm building my car for the pure enjoyment of driving a unique true GT car. I love getting blank stares as I sling shot around cars and it makes me feel good knowing that I'm not like everyone else driving bling bling Honda's etc. I guess my Z would fall in the "street warrior" category. I'm not really into the 1/4 mile type racing...there's just something about taking a corner with full boost. To me it's much more fun and exciting to race through twist and turns.
  11. I wanted to know the same thing. Right now I'm using fully syn. Mobile One oil with Nissan's suggest weight. I'm running 13psi of boost and it get's really hot here in Vegas...100-115. I know the synthetic oils are a lot thinner so I've always wondered if I should use thicker oil since it really doesn't get cold here. Any suggestions for a turbo motor with fuel injection?
  12. Thanks Arch!...yep that's my baby and I lover her to death. She's out of commision right now though as I have to fix my suspension. Can't wait to get her back on the road and back to terrorizing the rice boys lol I would definitly love to see your Z! I'm sure the gear heads would appreciate as well as most of us here in the US only get to drool on RB pics.
  13. Arch MY260, wow an RB? I'm VERY jealous lol. Seriously, I wish I could see that engine shoehorned in your Z...got any pics? As for the two tone interior I would have to agree with you. I originally had an all red interior and I hated it...so I replaced most of the plastic stuff with black parts but I left all the carpets and half of the door red. It looks really good IMO.
  14. Ok I need real opinions here...anyone run these on their Z's (I haven't seen one)? I wanted to set the pins up to where the hood stays open about an inch so that it would let cool air in at speed. It would be functional but wanted to know how you guys felt about it and maybe some suggestions...thanks guys.
  15. any news for us 280zx drivers? I doubt it
  16. Yep I'm with Pete...you will not see those things here as we are performance oriented. You will however see a few 300zx's (z32) that are set up for show. I for one have never seen the mods outlined above on the older Z cars...but it does seem a lot more common on the newer models. FWIW
  17. I don't particularly like the mural, window banner or the pinstriping on that 280zx. I think a plain jet black paint job would really make it look nice. The engine is sweet and I'm sure it's more than just show
  18. You can swap it out for the P90 head. I'm going to replace mine for a non hydrolic one as they are starting to tick on cold start ups. As far as I know you only need one gasket. Might as well look into metal head gaskets while your at it
  19. Wow that is too cool! I grew up on that stuff. I just gave three full boxes of Lego stuff to my little cousin last year and he loves it. It sure does bring back memories...

    180zx?

Did you guys know that they made 180zx's? Looks like an older 200sx...
  21. I'm in the same boat as you are Scotty and know how it is when you want top of the line only to hear a few pennies rustling in your pockets... Plenty of times when I've woken up in the morning and decided that I'm going to take what I have for now and buy an IC I can afford...you should have seen my eyes light up when you told me all the success you had with the Volvo unit. But I'm glad you took the time to test it out. hmmm $50.00 or $500.00....bills need to be paid...but I need a good IC....I know it's frustrating. I've thought about going the Starion route for a few more $$ but I've read that those aren't great either...looks like I would have to wait another year or so until I can save the money for the higher end lol. At least you have the hybrid turbo....I'm still in the "dreamin" stages.
  22. ahaah...what an asshat...you know he was hauling arse...
  23. Yep these guys are right....they are the once that MSA sells. Only thing they did different is that they mounted it over the lock button.
  24. Hey guys....I have the overlays on my turbo right now. I got it from ebay for $15.00. Not sure if you guys knew but you could easilly make your own custom faces. Just scan the original gauge plates and invert the photo in Photoshop or equivalent. Everything white will turn black and vise versa. Print it out on glossy paper, grab a can of 3M adhesive and go to town....this way you could inlay anything on the gauges and make any color you want. I'm going to eventually re-do mine and it will look totally different from what you see on the net.
