OK NOW THAT THE 240Z PRO DRIFT MACHINE IS ALMOST READY, we will be drifting at the u.s.drift nationals at mid-ohio, during the n.a.s.a nationals in sept.. i have more time to devote to the other projects...i aquired a reasonably streight 74 honey bee, datsun b210, and have a l26 slightly modified engine to throw into it in place of the a14 thats currently in the car.. weld the diff and put some dump truck springs on it and, blam drift car for the wife....shes been wanting to drift more and i dont let her in the ae86 or the z cuz im afraid she might destroy somthing ...so 6 pt cage and seat are also in the plans....we might even try to make the 2007 $ grassroots challenge in teh bee....hehehe i traded a running 4age, ae86 corolla engine and wireing, " i have 3 others in the garage taking up space" for the 74 hunny bee and a 3sgte sw20 95 ish mr2 turbo engine, witch might make its way into my ae86...hehehe im on a power tirp lately...
  2. i have the motorsport 4 row, and i was overheating at the track with the l26 that was in the car before the turbo swap, i added some pencool "waterweter" 40 below , that sort of thing and instantly stopped, it really did drop the temp quite a bit... i also wrapped thermal welding blanket, the shiney silver stuff around the bottoms of the hitachi roundtop carbs that were on it and it stopped the crazy vapor locking problems after each run.

  5. 131collision did the paint. www.131collision.com shameless plug as for suspension we made some custom 1 off, short stroke. we used some customvalved kyb real sports dampers, valved a bit harsh for anything but drift..and 450lb front and 350 rear springs, we did the r200 and cv swap also, and using a nismo gt lsd... ill be sure to post hte specs. and get some undercar pics, the car is back from the paint shop so we can get busy on finishing it...mmmmmm drift candy
  6. no flares, were running 15+8 wheels..nothing crazy, we want the car to slide. and i like the clean look of no flares. the wheels go out to the edge of the fender ...
  7. we have the motorsport type 3 bumper and made a intercooler to fit perfectly in the mouth of it... thats my fav part of the car, looks so agressive, but the car was still drying in these pics...ill post more now that i figured out how to post pics...im a car guy not a computer guy..

  9. since i recived so much ranting about pics i finally will offer a teaser pic, the car will have glass and door locks and assorted trim parts on tommarow, and some logos and graffics done also this week... we will be on some sport max 002 15-8 wheels.. the color is house of kolor aqua kandy blue, and the booth light does not give it justice, in the sun lite it really pops... thanks to the guys who belived the car was real...the guys who knocked it can get bent while im getting sideways....

  11. b sosick you can appoligise very soon...when its finished. lol. . a friend took some pics and they will be up soon. as for steering rack, just look at the cars natural turning radius, it kinda blows...what we did is have a new rod machined longer and more teeth cut into it. also we cut some of material off the ends of the rack body and used a jam nut to adjust and stop over travel...we have effectively and safely doubled our steering angle. this way we can get good amounts of angle without excessive toe out.. the main reason we did this mod was to be much more consistant, if you can get more steering angle, you are more likely to avoid spinning by having more countersteer..ive hit the steering stops a few times thinking i had some more steering left..but dident....errrrrrrrr spin
  12. our 240z drift machine is almost complete, and ready for pro competition, i found the biggest thing for us other than suspension and lsd, is steering angle, the s30 gets very little steering angle, to counter this, we modified the steering rack to have 1.5 inch more rod travel..now we get deeper angle and pull out of it without hitting the steering lock

If hybridz is interested in sponsering a drift car, I will be running national pro events, demos, major car shows, regional drift events,as well as judging u.s.drift amature events, and instructing u.s.drift's drift101 school .some of the events would be televised.... we do demos for mid-ohio, we just did one before the american lemans race, and grand am cup race..drifting is getting alot of noteriaty lately expecially among the young croud.. If anyone is interested i can send them some info on our "U.S.DRIFT / OUTBRAKE MOTORSPORTS drift team crew and driver.. THIS CAR WILL GET EXPOSURE. Derrick U.S.DRIFT MIDWEST.
  14. s12 silvia rs-x came with a fj20et with 210 hp and a r200 with lsd and cv axels, it also bolts into the 240-280z with a 280z mustache bar. and the cv axels are the exact same part as the 280zxt cv axels.. my diff came from okinawa japan from a friends car, it was a rs-x, those cars are wicked fast. with bolt ons you can get a 300hp s12...thats also indistructable.... so i belive the rs-x was avalble from 86-88... they had a 2 way clutch type diff in them, and were 4.11 gear. i have the diff he brought back from japan, and it now has a newer nismo gtlsd in it ..

  18. actually yeah it was me, its going to paint shop this week, should be ready for debut at drift fest in chicago july 2nd d1/usa las vegas july 15/16 and the ESPN DRIFT series on aug 20.. were kinda finishing the car abit off schedule, we planned for march but we had some setbacks and we dident want to short cut anything. i can say this, the car is wicked fast and the competition will have a hard time fallowing us due to massive amounts of tire smoke were putting out. hehehe

  20. ae86 for sale 15,000$ ready to drift just like fast and ferious...lol joking but if anyone wants a real clean , full bore drift machine, ae86 and wants to pay 15,000$ ill be more than happy to do it...
  21. on a pro level it ebrake is used to draw out a longer drift staying sideways down a streight section using it to maintain your current tregectory in other words, or just doing tight 180 spin turns i should have said using it to initate a basic drift is a begginer technic
  22. the correct way to drift is up to the driver, what ever makes you comfortable, after time you learn alot of new tricks and it all becomes second nature when to use them. i started out drifting 12 years ago when stationed in japan, i started with the ebrake, then learned to use the brakes to rotate the car "braking drift" feint , clutch kicking "i still dont like doing that unless i have to" and just plain *** entering way to fast and leting the car slide out with a touch of lift throttle oversteer.. after you are around the sport for some time you learn new technics and use them for different reasons , you develope a style of your own.

  24. its all for you damien....you see the omen previews yet? i think the kid who jumps off the building with a rope around his neck was pissed off he had to sit threw fast and ferious 3. it will bring alot of focus on the drifting scene, but that can go both good and bad..maybe well get more people out to drift events after it is out. derrick u.s.drift midwest
