I'm getting ready to move my car to it's second home, (jackstands) and open the Zcar $ Blackhole. Going thru and upgrading motor, should be getting close to 400 hp, upgrading tranny to 700r4, and the thing that parked it, blown r180. I really want this time to put my drivetrain wishlist to bed. I've been reading posts till my heads spinning. So the question is, $2500 to put a Q45 setup with the TechotoyTuning parts, the best bang for the buck? My car is a daily driver with random beatings.

That sucks, but since you both walked away, you got out cheap. It's a thought that's always in the back of my head, the ability to go to fast to fast. I think it takes more than stained shorts and bent metel to kill the Z bug. hell of a parts car.

I'd check the posts were the fusable link clips on with a volt meter, I've had trouble with the power not going thru the connection

I had that problem and it was the tab that turns the switch was twisted and wouldn't turn it far enough. If you can get to the switch and turn it with a screw driver, that will tell you if that's the problem.

I didn't think of that. The trailer is at work and my buddy's truck has a thirsty 502. so by the time I get the trailer back, It's worth calling a wrecker. If I don't get it running, that's what I'll probably do. Thanks Randy

I'm hoping to go check it out today, weather permitting, the mt. pass thing. My plan is to get it started, give it a visual check while it warms up.(gas line, wires) When it dies, check choke, pour gas in carb. If it revs, check filters, gas line routing. If it kills it, check dist. put on different cap, check wires, connections. If its not running, call it names, say WTF. sit down, smoke cig. scratch head.

I'd bet there was some resisting arrest going on when they got their hands on him. Got to pay that stupid tax.

I'll check the choke.I think it might be the other way, the choke is coming on. It looks like a Quadraflush, but i'm not up to speed on them.

It has a mechanical fuel pump. I'm wondering if it is just packing the fuel filter and it's not the heat, but I don't know why it would cool down and run. I don't think it's losing spark totally because it wants to run. I'll check I have a cap. I'll take it with me. thanks

I got a freebee donor car today from a guy at work. An 88 caprice cop car, carbed 350 (hopefully a 4 bolt) 700r4. He said it runs good and you can stomp and it pulls hard, but after it warms up it dies, it will start again, but it spits and sputters and don't want to go. So here's the deal. The car is 40 miles away and I have to move it soon. I don't have a truck or trailer. I can come with one, but in that 40 miles is mt. pass that is no trailer traffic now and going around is 110 miles, so I really would like to drive it home. I'm well versed at gas, spark and air. I'm hoping someone is familiar with this problem. I'm going to go play with it this weekend and I'd like some ideas on somethings I might check. The cars out in the weather and it's winter. I run a 16" curved blade off ebay. I have it on a shroud off a 77Z. I had to make some braces to hang the shroud. I still have a bit of a heat problem. but I need more radiator, It's a single core stealth. I have JTR install and there plenty of room. I would put it on a thermo switch. I haven't yet. and it only takes a small brain fart to warm her up.

The bimmer guy looks young,dumb and clueless. (I remember) Life will teach him if he lives that long. I'm sure that isn,t his only display of ignorance, it's a little different at a buck twenty. The bike guy is impressing.

Nice I don't see it hitting 15,000 either. When I was younger, My buddy's dad put a vega on a bronco frame,took the hatch off and put a truck bed in it. It was quite the thing.
