  1. Wow, over 4 months since my last post. Bart hasn't been forgotten, just put on light duty. The R160 is beginning to complain and I've been too busy to attend to it. He gets driven around town, once a week or so, to keep keep the atrophy at bay.

In the meantime, Bart has some fresh bling awaiting (15x6.5)...

  2. Anyway, I would recommend buying one from the west coast. No rust to worry about, and Zs are generally cheap and plentiful there in good condition.

Man-O-man, how I wish that were true. I have owned somewhere between 15 and 20 S30's, and not one was rust free. We may have less of the evil stuff, but it's still abundant, I promise.

  3. Well then someone either send him a link to this thread or send him a pic of the sticker we want and see what he says.

Uh, please don't. Dan is a busy man. Let's give this a little more time... it's only been 5 hours. It would be nice to give other members a chance to comment.

  4. I recently went for a short drive in Zbuff's car... sort of. Wet roads, with scattered patches of ice. Just toodling around surface streets and empty parking lots. It's very Camry-like. Easy, pleasant, and no fuss (not a hint of noise either). However it's damping is also very Camry-like. When pushed hard enough to scrub the front tires, the feedback is there, but highly subdued.

If you're looking for the ultimate in feedback, a performance oriented hydraulic system might suit you better. Otherwise, its very very nice.

  5. The BOV HAS to be inbetween the TB and IC.

No, it doesnt. There are advantages to mounting it either way. That's not what's causing your problem.

Plug the BOV and re-test. It's easy and should narrow down the problem.

Also once i install the BOV correctly, can i remove the stock bov that is located on the number 4 runner?

    Yes.

  6. I've seen posts about using modified 510 struts for the S130...

I can't imagine why anyone would do that. It's popular to use the S130 struts on a 510, though... vented rotors, larger calipers, and more robust wheel bearings.

and a few other posts along lines of sharing 510/S130 parts, and pics of the rear trailing arms look similar.

My tape measure says the S130 control arms will bolt up to a 510. However, the track width becomes significantly wider and there is no spring perch (S130 is coil-over).

I realize I'm not exactly answering your questions, but hopefully giving you something you can use for deduction purposes.
