Yup. Too late. I've already witnessed the smoke plume propagating from his ears
  2. So true. Your Father lives on, my friend. Wishing you the best!
  3. Are you asking me or my Wife? She once told me she wished she was a car. When I reminded of her of how many cars I've discarded, she decided that wasn't the best plan
  4. That's just tooo fun!
  5. A 220 mile road trip netted an average 31.7 MPG w/3.90 butt's and 22" tires. Not bad... for a box.
  6. Best ribs I've ever eaten. PERIOD.
  7. Heavy is better than sick, just like 11 is louder than 10.
  8. Braap is correct... shed'd for the soapboxing.
  9. :lmao: I have a strange feeling the jokes have only just begun
  10. I've had bad day's. I've been a little terse from time to time. Despite my efforts, I've posted technical errors on occasion. I'm far from perfect. But, in nearly 1600 posts, one thing I've NEVER done is call someone a jerk or any other colorful schoolyard adjective. Yet, in your self-declared benevolence, you've managed to accomplish it in on your fifth post. Impressive. And severely out of line. I gave icapture advice that I felt was more valuable than telling him to connect the red wire to the green one. You're most welcome to dismiss that advice in a courteous manor. You are NOT welcome to make personal attacks. Don't do that again. And how will he know when you give him the wrong schematic? Is it after his car doesn't start or is after it burns to the ground? Yes, there is more than one harness/ECU/schematic. If, on the other hand, icapture takes my advice seriously, his odds increase dramatically of recognizing a disparity. That is just one of the many reason's I suggested learning more before diving in. If that makes me a villain, so be it.

  12. +1 And while you're at it, pick up a Haynes manual, it'll help you knock out that to-do list.
  13. Got a very short response...
  14. OD of a 280z tube is 2.155". I can bore those for you. $15 each.
  15. Jon, beat me to it He's right... its not a very likely scenario.
  16. There are two slotted adjustments at the base of the distributor. If neither of those are slipping, then the gear on the quill shaft may be slipping (it's only pressed on). The only other item that comes to mind at the moment is the mechanical advance mechanism in the distributor. They can get gummy with age and it may cause inconsistent timing.
  17. I put Bart on a truck scale yesterday. Unfortunately I didn't realize it was a 'lo-res' scale until I got there... 50lb increments Every other scale in OR I've tried has been 20lb. So, you get to decide for yourself the value of these numbers Full tank of fuel... 2200lbs Me in the drivers seat (220lbs)... 1300 front, 1100 rear. Since my weight didn't push the scale over 2400lbs, I'm assuming the car is on the low side of the 2200lb increment. The car is fully assembled including interior with the exception of the instrument cluster/glove box removed (working on custom dash/gauges). No spare tire/jack. That'll have to do until I get access to a better scale.
