  1. Did anyone else see the glowing chunk of ??? come out of the exhaust on the 3-4 shift? spark plug electrode? turbine blade? Or was I just imagining things? I've seen supra guys totally destroy spark plugs (no center electrode or insulator left at all) after backfiring like that down the track. and then they wonder where the pieces went? LOL!!! Sick car though, almost stock looking. I like it!!! Mike.
  2. Hi, dherde26. Don't know how long you have been around this site but, I've been lurking for 4-5 years, and lots of people on this site myself included have seen offers like this come and go. Designing a proper tubular "equal length tubular header" for the L6 is a difficult and potentially expensive proposition with many problems to solve. Many have tried to offer a "turbo header" for sale here, I'm not sure any have truly succeded. S.F.P. comes to mind. That being said, If you were to come up a header with: 304 (may not take the heat). 316L (better choice), but more expensive. 321 (the best) cost no object. Nice beefy flanges cold rolled steel or 304. Flex or slip joints if and where necissary. Offer an external wastegate pipe either with or without a flange mounted. An option of T3 or T4 turbo flanges. And the option for bracing for those of us with large turbos to mount. I'm sure that many here would be willing to spend real money for something like this. How long have you been fabricating? Can we see some examples of your work? If it looks good, is tested and seen to be reliable for moderate to mild abuse, I personally would pay $500.00 to $800.00 depending on the design and materials used. What does evryone else think? Mike.
  3. Hey 510, Do the VG30dett pistons have the same pin height as the 240sx pistons? IE.. for use with 240z rods and stroker crank? Mike.
  4. Hey, Air-j The A cam will give you better performance than the j. Better lift, duration etc...However, something a little bigger is always more fun than a stock part. If you are using the stock fuel injection setup, You may have problems if you go with too big of a cam, i've heard it freaks out the flapper door in the airmeter. You should be ok with something in the 260 to 270 range. Beware though, more duration lift and overlap mean more raw gas out the tailpipe, and a possible no pass from the emissions demons. I just put a P90 head on my motor with what I thought was a regular A cam at first (it did have some additional stamping on it but nothing that made any sense). It's definately a regrind of some sort because the idle is a little rough and power comes on real good after about 2500 up to around 6000. All that being said, A cam can make a big difference in the !FUN FACTOR! of your car. Mike.
  5. Zsaint , I have a head exactly like the one shown in the e-bay auction (EARLY p90a). It is identical to a regular p90 head that I just picked up the other day. Mike
  6. Ok I just have to ask... how much did you pay for the flanges? Can you get more of them? Mike.
  7. well I just posted pics of the flange in my photo album only to see that you already welded on the part you had. Oh well. I'll see if I can post a pic here so all can see what I was referring to. Mike. here maybe---

  9. John, The part you weld on there is a billet steel part. I have one welded on to a t4-P-trim ex housing now. I did not do the welding myself but I'm pretty sure the nickel rod and preheating recommended above will do the trick. I think I may have exactly the part you need, it is an extra weld on part for a P-trim (exducer 2.62") housing, I've had it laying around since I got my turbo. I think these parts are available through turbonetics but tend to be expensive . If this one is the right size I'll just give/send it to ya. I will try to post some pics of the one welded on and also the extra one when I find it. I think it's in the box with my wastegate. I'm getting ready for work now so I'll post the pics early tomorrow morning when I get off work. E-mail me at mkieinmesa@cox.net if you are interested. Mike
  10. Russ ,I'm in Mesa, Arizona. I was just over at ARIZONA Z-CAR the other day and I looked at a forged piston that dave sells on his website for around 600.00 USD for a set with rings and pins. looked real nice. They are 87mm and for the longer 240 rod also. he ships over seas all the time,so you might want to give him a call or send him an e-mail. Mike.
