  1. GOLLUM, We have stuff like that here in Az. as well.I remember seeing one similar to that here in Tempe about ten years ago. It wasnt that nice though. I think you don't see things like that in Cali., because the Birkenstock crowd generally doesn't want you driving around in things like that. Thus they make it more difficult to get them registered, especially in your area. Here, as long as it passes the tailpipe sniff test, they'll let you drive practically ANYTHING.... Mike.
  2. ZZNOTOP, That's a very nice convert conversion. What blueovalz said above is so true. I especially like the bright trim right behind the door, nice touch. I was wondering, you mentioned a nice carpet kit in your cardomain post. Where did you get it? and how much was it? Thanks, Mike.
  3. He's probably under the car right now turning wrenches. Or maybe on the road, foot to the floor with a perma-grin on his face. Mike.
  4. Joey, Read the sticky at the top of the page. Mike.
  5. Hey, Jim where in mesa are you? I'd be interested to see your ride. Mike.
  6. Garett, How are you going to mount up the Z32 trans? Is the input shaft length an issue? Splines? I may need to do this sometime in the near future. Also, what about the pilot bushing/bearing? Mike.
  7. Errmmm..... Why are you selling this tranny set up? And what are you replacing it with? Mike.
  8. 1fastZ, Does most of the flow improvement on the exhaust come from a throat cut below the seat and a bowl blend to the runner? Mike.
  9. More info would be good. Possibly a link to the e-bay sale. Mike
  10. I've been thinking about Prescott, Az. Elev. 5200ft. Property is still relatively inexpensive. A nice house between 150-225K avg. highs summer 80-85deg. winter lows 25-30deg. some snow.Average precip~20inches Nice small town feel, but enough industry to have some jobs. Within 90 minutes of Phx. area if you need the comforts of the big city. Eg. Racing at Speed World for drags , Phx. Raceway Park and P.I.R. for road racing. Also plenty of culture, Symphony, art galleries and what have you. Mike.
  11. Thank you, Jmortensen. Z-tard, Chem dip is THE WORST thing you could ever put your hands in. PERIOD. When I was younger, my uncle owned an auto shop. One of the guys that worked there put some carb parts in the chem dip bucket, and forgot them over the weekend. When he pulled out the basket the aluminum parts were almost totally gone! The moral of the story........Always read the labels and follow directions for chemicals in the shop. Your life and the life of your parts may depend on it. BTW, I use that orange pumice cleaner and a stiff brush or scotchbrite. Seems to work just fine for me.. Mike.
  12. Hey, Chewie, I think MSA sells the blade type fuse panels for the Z, but they are a little pricey. Also they are made on a P.C. board. I've always been worried about durability of P.C. boards especially when pushing in or pulling on things like fuses, or even memory on a motherboard. If you can find a good one from another car it'll prolly be much cheaper. 8) I wish I lived closer I'd help you with yours and build one for me at the same time. You interested in makin' 2? 8) Mike.
  13. Hey Roostmonkey. Nice piping on that install. Stainless? How did you get the bends? Mike.
  14. Ahhh yessss, The good old RRRed Herring. LOL. Mike.
  15. Hey, moby. I saw this in an article for the new '07 turbo Solstice. Some pontiac performance mag. IIRC. The article I read talked about VVT for the torque curve you like so much, forged rods and crank, and "up to 20Lbs. of boost. At the end of the article they were praising G.M. for finally coming out with something that would be able to compete with the imports in the tuner market. I had a couple of thoughts on this. 1. If you want to raise the boost for more power, how do you get more fuel in the chamber? You can't just change out the injectors. And if i recall correctly the fuel rail pressure was something like 1200-1400 psi!! using a crank driven pump. 2. The twin scroll turbo does not look like any one I have ever seen. It appeared to be very long and thin front to back. Looks to be a propriatary item. If G.M did this for packaging/clearance issues. there may not be room in the engine bay for A larger unit. 3. Whats up with the 5300 rpm redline? I couldn't help thinking that G.M. had just shot themselves in the foot AGAIN!! Unless of course, they offer staged upgrades W/available financing like Dodge does. Still... What do you think?

Wondering if anyone in the Phx. area has a stock ZXT-t5 trans shifter. Need it for prototyping of bronze bushings. there is a set of bushings in it for the donor. Thanks, Mike.
  17. BTW, Oil pressure in the tensioner takes up the slack you had found in the chain when the engine is running. Mike.
