  1. Today's fun: hit and run, and a totaled Mazda 3. I was at a bike shop picking up a back protector, when this happened. Someone spun out, hit a Ford Explorer, which in turn hit my car, pushing my car 4 feet forward into the truck in front of me. I'd guess it's totaled. Fortunately, I wasn't in it.
  2. I haven't had time to work on the Z since I posted this thread, sadly. yes, i've rotated the insulator, and that doesn't really help. No, I have not contacted John yet. Unfortunately I don't have time during the day to call him (seriously) and he is 2 hours ahead of my time zone. I will try to shoot him an email later. I know I skipped the obvious step
  3. depends on the weight of the bike w/ average rider. when i brought it home, I just rode it back without checking pressure. It seemed over 25 by touch, so it was good enough to get home. When I checked it the other day it was 26 front, 25 rear. Normal range for my bike (397lbs dry, no gas/coolant/oil, and about 420 lbs wet) it is 32psi front, 36 rear. Tire pressure is vital on bikes because the tires are round and not flat. So low pressure - less curve - can't turn/lean well
  4. oil change, massive cleaning, chain cleansing, oiling, etc, and now it's roadworthy. I also forgot just how much difference 6 psi makes in tires on a bike
  5. Bought mirrors from him, they arrived very promptly and in good shape for used items. props to aziza
  6. because it dynoed 395@ wheels http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/25/video-inside-line-dynos-the-2011-ford-mustang-gt-5-0/
  7. I have a 13b from cosmo, if you want to buy it it's already converted to drop into a 1st gen rx7, which I think uses the same mounts as an rx3. You'll need to supply your own turbo, exhaust manifold. I also have a couple of turbo 2 transmissions to go with it
  8. well, I don't buy bikes to flip them and make a profit. THe triumph I got, the owner wanted it out of his garage (and i've known the bike since he got it, so i knew the whole history) Seating position is a lot more comfortable, but I need to figure out how to fix the wind buffeting to my face (6'1)
  9. yeah, the one I have mounted in hte picture is the dual filament clear one: http://lockhartphillipsusa.x-shops.com/LP-USA-FLUSH-MOUNT-IV-TURN-SIGNAL-CLEAR-DUAL-FILAMENT-LARGE.html that one specifically. since it's dual filament, it also doubles as a running light. Any local motorcycle chain store, like cycle gear, should have them. Or you can just order directly from LP
  10. They're just cheap Lockhart Philips motorcycle turn signals, 3 wire (low/high/ground) setup and cost 20 bucks for the pair. I just used a 1 1/8 (I think that was it?) holesaw bit on the airdam, and these just screw on with plastic gland nut over the stalk, real simple and secure setup. http://lockhartphillipsusa.x-shops.com/FLUSH-MOUNT-IV.html You should be able to find tons of options there. I wound up picking up a set of amber ones to replace the clear ones (personal preference)
  11. Purchased in 2001 on road in 2003 2010 still not running
  12. Now in my garage. Picked up a 2006 ninja 650r with 10k miles on the clock, never been down, just dirty and in need of some typical maintenance... for $2700! Rode it home for 50 miles, no problems. Comfy ergonomics, upright seating position. The motor is a parallel twin, makes about 70 hp, but lots of low end torque (around 48-50 ft lbs).
  13. http://jalopnik.com/5476716/and-the-real-winner-is also follow the link about duct taping
  14. I'd put that on my wall in a heart beat
  15. He's just being cocky. Also, glocks aren't that inaccurate!
