This is a good starting point... much thanks to capt_furious for knowing what/where to look and find stuff, and historical knowledge. Granted, this is an odd collaboration, but the costume is not designed for reenactment or to be period correct. Also for obvious reasons I will not be using a real Mosin Nagant. Stay tuned...

you can press them out, but you'll do more damage to the control arm. Get a hacksaw, cut through the collar on one side, then exact opposite side. then you can press/hammer it out very easily.

yeah, you can't rotate it inside the garage. I'd PROBABLY consider something similar if I had space to roll the car out. But I'd prefer steel over wood, and ability to rotate in stationary position

actually inline 6s are better balanced than 4 bangers (which is why most of today's i4s have balance shafts).
