  1. I think that video you have is of a C5 chasing a Z, and the Z is a v8 swap
  2. Do you mean the Viper or the Z. I am hoping you mean the Viper' date=' sounds like you have a good setup. I've never ridden in a Viper, though. [/quote'] I meant my Z would lose, given both drivers have equal skill.
  3. well, it's different to decide where the line is drawn on moderately modded Z. are things like rollcage allowed? because the Z's chassis is nowhere as stiff as a viper. If we use my car for example, which has 225/50/15 yoko es100 tires (pretty grippy), tokiko illuminas, GC coilovers with 200lb/in springs, vented rotors and 4 pot brakes.... i'd say i t would lose pretty badly.
  4. i highly doubt that bar is functional if you made it out of alum pipe and used only 2 small reference points.
  5. I don't think you seached it's 3 posts down http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=22084
  6. Hm, we didn't see "panasport racing" cast into it, but the rim's fairly dirty. Davy, get to cleaning!
  7. got some rims that look identical to panasport in weight and design, no center caps, and no monicker on the back of the rim. The only stampings on the rim indicate MADE IN JAPAN, and the size, which is 14x7. Until I saw the back of the rim, I was 100% certain they were panasports...now I'm wondering if they really are. I always thought panasports were american made, am I wrong? here's the culprit in question:
  8. it's on hold right now for several reasons: 1. after doing careful inspection, that motor is mostly toast. rotors and ONE (out of 5) housings are good. It would cost too much to rebuild the motor now, so I'm opting at buying a 13b-re twin turbo cosmo motor, and swapping that 5 speed from the bad motor to the newone (since it only came in auto). 2. not sure about facility where the swap is going to occur. I live in an apt. and borrow my parents' garage to work on my Z. They're not entirely happy with my car hogging up the garage several months. I think I can use it, but I'd rather find a place with my own garage first 3. I found some unwanted rust in very unwanted places, and I'll have to fix that before anything else happens. Actually, i'm going to check out the motor today, most likely. It's rated at 230hp stock, has smaller turbos than the fd rx7, but bigger ports. Basically, a factory street port
  9. make sure you flip the r180 mount 180 degrees. i learned the hard way
  10. I'd have to get a custom driveshaft with one end datsun, one end rx7 u-joints, custom tranny and motor mounts. ECU would be aftermarket engine management system, like haltech
  11. fox body mustang 5.0 would be the best deal. gears, pulleys, exhaust, intake, maf, nitrous and good tires will net you 11-12 sec. territory. you could also get a crotch rocket 600cc bike for 5k will get you in 11s stock
  12. hahaha! you read consumptionjunction board too?
  13. I have factory stripes on my neon
  14. Thanks guys, I just wanted to find out a quick answer before going through the process of jacking up my car.
  15. Bad: the picture itself (it's frosty can spray for xmas decorations) Worse: If you know what Bukakke means Worse than that: That dude looks JUST LIKE ME ('cept he's skinnier)
  16. is there an offset in hte crossmember from factory to accomodate for uneven lower control arms in the front? or am I smoking something really good? My front left tire sticks out 1/2" more out than the front right. I haven't measured anything yet, but I recall reading something about the control arms being different lengths? Am I right, or wrong?
  17. my friend don has a '98 neon r/t. it's an n/a motor, 2liter stock shortblock with stock head, all bolt ons possible, custom manifold, ecu. and he ran 13.5 on slicks at mason dixon. Dynoed 197whp, 149 tq. Weighed in at 2460 with him in the car. Full interior, no weight reduction
  18. hate to point out hte obvious, but i think your turbo will work better in the front of the car, rather than the trunk! and i know you don't have an mr2!
  19. Yup. Any in-n-out, they have it programmed into the register. I usually get animal style
  20. not familiar with the 96 and up toyota 4 runner calipers, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't work. The two types you can use are 79-83 4 piston S12 units, which are direct bolt on using non-vented datsun disks, and the 84-86 s12w units which are wider and accept a 300zx vented rotor mounted with a 1/2" spacer.
  21. someone had to get an animal style 11x11
  22. I don't think it's an embarrassement. Almost 300hp n/a in stock form, in a well balanced chassis.
