  1. Hahaha, well so far I'm going to have to run down the 1320 unless Vic. British can get me a fuel pump relay.
  2. Something like this? http://www.tmi-pvc.com/screens/weld_screen.html
  3. Is it mechanically sound? Some places might be a little picky unless it is in good reliable condition. If you can find a place, I say go for it. The good karma is always a plus
  4. So are you picking up that roadster? You can't let me down in our showdown with Max!
  5. OTM, your car totally counts as a rat rod with as much mixing and matching you did to get your engine going!
  6. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=122238 I know it's kinda long, but there is a ton of great info in this thread especially towards the end. BRAAP posted some stuff that explains flat plane cranks very well.
  7. Do you remember where those pics were? I can't find them for the life of me!
  8. Hahaha, like the VW guys that had rusted hoods on their cars. I can't find any pics right now.
  9. Well my foot is nicely placed in my mouth, so I'd like to apologize, ls1. I didn't read your whole post and just assumed that you were some newb who heard about this magic POR15 stuff that cures all rust or whatever. Sorry to jump to conclusions and welcome to HybridZ, by the way. Ben
  10. ls1Hybridz, search for POR15 and you'll get enough info to make your head explode. Also, go back and read all the rules.
  11. Well, the ZX is sitting in the driveway at home right now. Something is up with the fuel pump relays so I'm waiting on replacements right now. After I get that figured out I still need to do some carb tuning on the 305 so I can drive it around this summer. As for plans, I picked up a 89 L98 block from Mobythevan (Brian) a couple weeks ago and plan on a Cam/Intake/Head build on that eventually. But before I can do any of that I have to start working again, lol.
  12. I've heard of some kind of 3M tape that is designed for thermal conduction before, specifically in computer heat sink applications. I'd assume it's the same stuff?
  13. So it's basically a stick on heat sink? As long as the tape it up to it, I'm sure it helps a little. I don't think it's really going to make a differece on high heat parts (down pipe, headers, etc)
  14. Single cylinder industrial engine with a "Z cycle" setup? http://www.aumet.fi/html/prototype.htm
  15. Jerry, I didn't think you were serious. I knew you were being facetious. I agree that it is gut wrenching to see such a rare and beautiful car outside rotting, but I'd rather see a car rot than a man destroy his life to save an object. Ben
  16. Owch... I'm not saying they not superb cars, I'd love to own either. Hell, I'd love to just drive either. All I was trying to point out is when it comes down to it, they are just piles of metal. I love cars and couldn't imagine myself with out a project car, but some people get in over their heads and start ruining their lives for, once again, a pile of metal. Do we know the circumstances of these cars being left in the snow? Who is the owner and what are his plans/goals for the cars? There's a lot more to the picture than two very nice cars being left in the snow.
  17. I agree, it's a beautiful feat of engineering. I wouldn't mind having one just to put in the living room to look at
  18. Haha, alright. You don't have to tell me twice Thank you guys for all the help, I'll do some more looking and keep all that in mind. Does anyone have experience with the intake I linked to above? Any other suggestions?
