  3. yeah that was some good info man thanks i actually got the turbo today i decided on a PT67 and i had it built with the .81 exahust A/R here she is
  4. well i got my turbo today my new precision PT6776 i am waiting on my fuel rail and injectors they are being shipped and my head studs are on the way to now i just need my head parts and probably new alternator starter and such then i just have to get it mounted in the car

  7. yeah lag was my worry i am going to go with the 35R now i just have to find a good price on one:-)
  8. well i found some carbon fiber fenders and a nice venturi style hood for my Z31 300ZX thanks to racinjitter on a site in japan but they said it would be like a grand to shipp everythign so i ahve been trying to locate someplace in the good old USA who might sell such an animal anybody know of anyplace here in the states?
  9. nice congrats man. it is always nice to see a old Z handin people their butts
  10. yeah i am starting to lean towards the gt35r as it seems to work well on RB25's from what i have seen and researched
  11. ok i am down to purchasing a turbo for my RB25. i was considering a garret GT35R but i have changed my build plans slightly and now i am considering a precision PT67 AKA a 37R i am still debating though. is the pt67 to big? it more than meets the horse power requirments as it supports over 700 HP. the GT3540r i was looking at is from jimm wolf and said it supported up to 680 HP here is an example of the precision http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33742&viewitem=&item=170162330542&_trksid=p3907.m29 and here was the garret i was considering from jimm wolf http://www.jimwolftechnology.com/customer_part_detail.asp?PartID=438 I was hoping to hit the high 600's with my build when running on c16 race gas. both turbos will do this but i have a naggin feeling the pt67 is to big. i don't want to max anything out but i don't want my lag to be excessive. i want ball bearing but is there any real drawback to using a journal bearing turbo? any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful. even a better source in the USA for turbos where the pricing is better would be nice

    EMS dilemma

ok i am trying to sort out the myriad of EMS's available for the RB25 cost is a major concern and i am leanign toward the greddy emanage ultimate. now i am going to be running at least 850cc injectors with a precision pt67 ( aka 37r) turbo and i also have the greddy intake manifold. stock bore and i will be doing cams and 1mm oversized valves. my main concern is since the e manage is a piggy back it may not do what i need it to. does anyone have any expereince with the system?
  13. yeah should come in handy for hose routing if any elude me. but i also agree why do people ghetto rig everything. being a mechanic i see it everyday and it just makes me want to slap the person. i can understand being on a budget or having to get things going if you are broke but damn there is a limit ok sorry had to vent
  14. i have seen a f22 in an S13 with a nice turbo set up but it did not make alot of power or torque. should be an intresting swap though. hope you like fabrication work because you will be doing a ton of it
  15. cool i would like to see that.
  16. thanks for the clarification ron so besides the extra cost ru having any issues running the seperate data log set up when you are tunning
  17. hmmm as the budget is limited i need a EMS that can data log i should email them before i buy they could be selling the new version to new customers first before they ship to exsisting ones which makes no sense but ya never know
  18. so do the newer units support the wideband O2's now? i have been considering the wolf for my RB25 powered Z31
  19. Nice good to see another monster ready for the road
  20. well i worked on the car today after not doing so for a while due to the cold. it was warm. i finally removed the transmission and did some work on the 86 subframes i have. i have to get the front sub frame stripped as i need to sand blast it and have a friend do the modification to the motor mounts so the engine mounts up. i do nto knwo how to weld so he said he would do it and make a tubular exhaust manifold for me as long as he can sell it. he builds manifolds for AMS so me thinks i may have a prototype AMS tubular exhaust manidfold for the Z this spring
  21. i have member of my car clubs forum hunting for a 240z in decent shape in or in a relativly decent drive of michigan if anybody knows of anybody selling one please message me so i can relay the info to him just doing a favor as i love to promote the restoration of the mother of all our Z cars
  22. well i bought mine from enjuku racing in florida they had them for $700 www.enjukuracing.com they are a good group of guys but mostly deal in silvia and SR20 parts you may be able ot get a deal on it
  23. yeah racinjitter has been a big help on my RB project in my Z31. he only lives like 2 hours away but still we have not met up at the track or in detroit yet to swap car stories
