  1. i guess thats not to bad for the first time at the track with the car ya never know whats going to happen the first time out after shes broken in andhad a shake down cruise
  2. nice run man we will have to run your car and jitters and mine at ubly this next summer
  3. ahh yes. that was the percentage that was escaping my brain. and good point if you are running bigger injectors to begin with you are set.
  4. wow thats nice lookin yeah i have a line on a used gt35r. a buddy of mine want to upgrade the one on his mercedes ( custome sick turbo setup on his E Class) we will see how it goes. i just hate blowin half my fall car budget on a turbo but i don't want to go "cheap" on something like this
  5. i found a pdf service manual online for the R33 family and it has all the wiring diagrams i will have to track the link down and see if it still works
  6. yeah i would like to know this as well i have the same manifold and will be buying the throttle body soon can't you just use the q45 TPS or are they that different of a setup wiring and signal wise
  7. you have to run bigger injectors. you actually push more fuel. then tune for it or at least my buddy with the E85 EVO had to do that
  8. the VG is mostly out now. i have not had a good weekend to do any major work. i am buying the bottom end components in 2 weeks an beginign assembly of the RB motor. at the same time i will be modifying the mounts. i will have some more pics up in a couple weeks once the major work begins. if anybody knows where i can get a good deal on a GT35R that would be awsome as well
  9. good lesson for those of us who are comtemplating adjustable gears a buddy of mine just tuned his EVO 8 on E85. puts down around 435 at the wheels with just cams and a ported stock turbo with down pipe and exhaust. Tim Switzer or switzer performance in ohio did the tune and he said it was awsome tunign it due to the fact it burs so clean it did not make him sick after tuning it like a race gas powered one would
  10. first thing get a muitl meter like a fluke or something that can read amps second carefully connect the meter in series with the battery and the positive cable. do not turn the car on. you should get a little bit of a parasitic drain. its normally just a few miliamps if its more than that ( which it sounds like it is). with the meter hooked up start pulling fuses. when you pull a fuse that makes the drain alot less ( smaller reading on the meter) thats the circuit the drain is on this method is the easiest if you do not have alot of electrical experience. once you know what circuit it is this will tell ya what components are on it and narrow the possiblities of what is causing the drain:mrgreen:
  11. i have heard the rc ones are pretty good. i know super street used a set on their project RSX and had very good results
  12. OMFG drop dead sexy. can't wait to see some vids when it runs good luck with the project man
  13. yeah the tomei one is sweet plus you cannot buy a nismo crate engine unless you have uber connections. at least thats what i hear
  14. i have seen the intakes used on VG30's before they require a smidge of modification and you have to adjust the hood with spacers as it does not clear were you doing an n/a or the supercharged version? regardless there are some fitment issues that are pretty easily overcome. personally i would just bore out the VG in it and put soem higher compression pistons in it and do some head work. would get the same if not better results without the swap headache. and i just noticed the date of this post and relaized how retarded i am lol sorry for brinin back the dead
  15. yeah i contemplated an rb30 but i decided to do the rb25 this as movin kinda slow my summer budget got nuked but i am getting all the internals for the motor in october along with the turbo. i am concentrating on fab work at the moment. i found a parts Z and got the subframes off it so i am getting those all cleaned up and modifying the front mounts was going to finish pulling the VG this weekend but i got talked into going to DSM shootout in norwalk ohio. my buddy dave is running his low 10 sec EVO in it i am shootin for the Z to beat him while he is on his low boost map a mere 515 at the wheels lol oh racinjitter have you fabbed up your power steering lines yet. i was comtemplating those this past weekend while i was tearing stuff apart
  16. well my Z is almost taken apart. I have to free up a weekend to take out the VG motor. but i do have some pics of the project thus far so view and enjoy some tail lights i may try and put on my Z ( with some modifiation of course) i have a front and rear subframe form an 86 i am going to modify so that i can mount the motor and clean up and mount my urethane bushings in. more to come as i get stuff done
  17. i used the trans bolts and if you use new ones just make sure they are grade 8 or higher
  18. yeah he is runnin an RB in his Z32 nice runs man. a little tweakin and some stickier rubber will put you in the 11's easy i can't wait till my Z31 is done our club president has a AMS built EVO that runs mid 10's i have to contend with
  19. maybe its just me but i could have done without the music just so i could hear the engine even if it is korn regardless looks good man. if you are out in bad axe my club meets in midland if you are ever out this way. my Z31 RB powered Z is in the prelim stages i am rebuilding the motor currently.
  20. i saw that article and your car is very nice. very clean looking congrats on the article i hope my Z31 is magizine worthy when its done
  21. yeah i was leaning towards the .020" just because of that reason. i got the sucker off just needed a bigger pry bar
  22. yeah both are on the to buy list for parts. i am lookin for cams to. the HKS and Tomei ones are pricy but the only ones i have been able to find pistons and rods are no problem just have to decide between .020" or .040" over. and i was going ferrea for the valve train upgrading to a gt35r turbo as well already have the RB20 oil pan from a 200ZR and the greddy intake manifold oh and at least a 1.5mm headgasket
