  1. I use a greddy/grex/trust one. As far as I know they are still available.
  2. I did not see a BOV in that video. I did see the POV, and I did hear the mechanical fan. It sounds like the fan clutch was not torqued properly. Then again, you may want to move a little slower so we can see everything. If what you are talking about is the BOV, it is not mounted in the correct place at all.
  3. I would say buy both and sell the SS VSLD with halfshafts. Without the halfshafts the SS diff is useless. I prefer the CLSD's over the VLSD. Mainly because it is more predictable and can be upgraded.
  4. Wow, spelling and punctuation count. A POV is a pop off valve. It is just a safety just in case the wastegate fails or sticks. The BOV should not be mounted on the intake manifold. It should be mounted before the throttle body preferrably within 6 inches of the throttle body. The BOV should not hiss when you are accelerating, that indicates a boost leak. If it hisses while under boost, you are spinning the turbo faster than it was designed to spin. The factory POV is located on the intake plenum on the passenger front part of the intake plenum.
  5. I have been using a napa gold 1361 oil filter on my RB25DET and my VG30E/T's for years now with no issues. I just grabbed what I had on the shelf and it worked. Napa gold line also has the high quality filter element and bypass. IIRC there are only 3 major oil filter manufacturers in the world. Only one manufacturer make s a poor oil filter and it just so happens that the fram label is put on that poor filter.
  6. The Z31 never cam with a factory BOV. It did come with a POV however. If you add a BOV, make sure you recirculate the BOV otherwise you will run rich everytime the BOV is actuated. Or you can run a blow through setup.
  7. I would be in for a couple of drains like that! Let me know how much.
  8. ^^^ Correct, IIRC the last vg30dett swap I heard about needed to cut the engine mounts though, to clear the hood?
  9. New stuff... Well not exactly, I have had the TBO lip for almost a year now. I finally installed it and repainted the side skirts. More pics to come later this weekend or monday.
  10. The 200zr cross members are completely different than the N/A cross member. I looked for a 200zr cross member/engine brackets for nearly a year before finding out that it was too expensive to get one. The cross member usually sells for close to 600 usd, then you have to source a set of 200zr engine brackets. (unique to the 200zr) I couldn't even find a set of those. None are left from the dealers either. For front coil overs, look into serial nine adapters. They are made for a cressida, but they work on the Z31 also. Here is the link to an s14 suspension swap into a z31... http://www.ziptied.com/forums/index.php?topic=6734.0
  11. LOL! Wait till I take some pictures this weekend... My car is different, and you will see what I mean about my car not looking all that great in comparison to some of the other Mi guys Z's.
  12. Yea, you could go that way. Without a turbo on the exhaust side, you will have plenty of clearance in a Z31. You may have to drop the engine mounts a little further to get the taller 30 deck height into the engine bay. That and a lower CG. I originally designed my crossmember with intentions of the rb30 lower end going into it. If you can find a cheap N/A crossmember, it is very easy to modify to bolt a RB up to. I am pretty sure I could come up with a N/A crossmember for you for really cheap. But please save your S30! You have had it sooooo long!
  13. LOL!!! Can I be born on Dec 14th too? I wish some of the other z31 guys would post up here. They make my car look like poop... runny poop... with corn.
  14. Here is my regular laptop desktop. And my in car laptop desktop.
  15. Can I play? Here is my old setup, 18x9 et-1.4 up front and 18x10 et22 rear. 245/40 front and 275/35 rear. Mustang Bullitt style. New setup, 18x9.5 et+15 275/35 front and rear... MB motoring battle.
  16. I am finally cleaning up my wiring mess(es). I mounted the V500 in the glovebox routed the DB9 connector to the center console. I started the engine bay wiring, but I gave up until tomorrow. I should have the engine bay nice and tidy by the weekend. Well I went out for a mini photo shoot this weekend, basically to scout some nice areas for the "real" photo shoot. Suggestions and critique is encouraged. Let me know which photos/locations you like or dislike. I don't want to post up all of the pics, so here is a link and some of the photos that I like. RB-Z photo shoot If it asks you for a password, try rb30psi.
  17. Ya'll are great! 24 pages of hilarity. I was wondering where all of the title changing was coming from.
  18. I am in Mi, but on the other side of the state. ScottyMIz is also pretty far from Kzoo. I dont know of any RB'ers over on that side of the state... There are quite a few over her in the detroit area though. Too bad you wont be here on august 22-24th. I will be in Grand rapids/Kzoo area for the 28th street cruise. On the 24th there is a 20th anniversary car show at the north american nissan tech center over here in farmington hills. Nissan has sponsored our club and we may have the chance to get in a new skyline.
  19. Yes, that means that the turbo itself is a t25, but the exhaust flange is still a t3.
  20. IIRC the S15 one is a t25 flange turbo. I know that the gt28's are t25 flange. However the rb25det t28 is a t3 flange and will work. You should be looking for any turbo that has a t3 exhaust flange.
  21. Here you go. I will try to get some in car footage in the next couple weeks. http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=racinjitter
  22. The factory air inlet for the airbox is directly behind the passenger side headlight. That is a high pressure area and is pretty direct for cold air. You will see more gains from a phenolic spacer between the upper and lower intake along with bypassing the throttle body coolant passages. However if you drive the car in cold weather you should leave the throttle body coolant hoses hooked up for safety.
  23. I would recommend a DXD clutch or a south bend clutch. Found here. http://www.z31parts.com/. They offer a very close to stock pedal feel with up to 800 ft/lb of torque capacity. They are all full faced clutch discs, which helps with modulation of the clutch pedal for smooth engagement. Don't forget to have your flywheel and pressure plate assembly balanced before you re-install it.
