  1. cant really install it wrong and i did set the timing with a timing lite. the simple stuff is most commonly overlooked

  3. yea i was thinking the same thing about the spare, luckly i have a buddy with a skyline about 20 mins from me with alot of spare parts. he is going to let me use his spare to see if it still messes up. I was thinking maybe my cas is 180 off, the car will run both ways just on the number 6 cyl first instead of the number 1 cyl. I was making changes this morning while driving into work and when i would retard timing things got better when i advanced them it stayed the same or got worse. hmmmm bad thing is i dont have much time to work on it cuz work has a ton of trucks that have to go out so i am working all the time and not getting quality time with the car.
  4. thanks i will check out the sites..... i do have another problem that i am blaming on the cam sensor. The car wont start after its hot, i know common in some cars with timing issues but get this....... it will start after i bump the key a few times , the injs aren't shooting at all when it is cranking but not starting.
  5. the haltech has a option to control it just a simple off and on setting per bar or rpm. I might not have it set right i need to mess with it more. would you happen to have a link to the 240 forums Evan? I've been looking at z32 sensors but they want almost 200 bucks for one. I would like to ue the stock speedo but it's not a set in stone, gives me a reason to buy a new speedo

  7. ok here is the deal, i had it running good but not great it seemed to cut out on top end. So i did some adjusting of the trigger angle and the top end cleared up and now the bottom end has a stumble. I am using a haltech e6k and i love it just alot to adjust I found my problem the map wasn't set for above 6500 rpm(l28et stops there). So i am going to adjust the timing on the upper rpm so that i can run good on idle like it is suppose to and handle the top end.(hopefully i didn't break anything in the engine) I have a question for the guys running the vvt do you guys know when it kicks in and out? like what rpm? it doesn't seem to make much of a difference in my car. I can tell you tho that lil rb25 puts my l28et to shame..... holy crap!! Now i just need a good clutch, change the oil and it's ready for the track. Oh yea found out that the autometer tach adapter doesn't work with the haltech either so i ordered a msd unit should be in this week..... and i still need a speed sensor anyone got one?

I stand corrected sorry never looked that close just knew the doors were longer(tried putting one on a coupe once doh) Yep all fiberglass and a ballpark i dont know but i do know the 280yz kit i want is 600 bucks with out shipping so i have to get some extra cash if i want to get the other kit.
  9. actually i don't think it matters the front and back should be the same on coupes and 2+2's the only difference is the doors.
  10. yep as stated above they are for a 280zx not a 240,260,280z but if i dont get a good price for it i think i might just cut it up

  12. thanks for the heads up i figured it wouldn't last long. My stocker is not taking any kind of abuse right now, depending on the rpm when she spools up the thing slips like crazy(as seen in my"slow" vids ) I dont expect it to last very long but it has to be better than the stock one. Also i was thinking of changing the pressure plate to my old l28et one that timz sold me. I figure if it fits it will help alot!!!
  13. hey guys what would be the best way to sell the 280zx kit i have? i was gonna just put it on here but i dont know how( silent auction or just post in the classified section) what do you guys think? I have pics of the kit on here already. I dont want to cut up this kit and would rather sell it and get the right kit for my 280z
  14. very nice i am hoping for 11's this year too i wanna run my car next weekend, i ordered a cheap xtd clutch for it figured it was better than stock. Just need it to last this year, got a buddy going to japan and he said he'd pick me up a dual disk clutch like he is runnin in his skyline. Good tires and slipping the clutch goes along way
  15. and as the turbine housing goes you guys are going to want to wrap it with a turbo blanket or some header wrap anyway to keep from melting the paint on your hood
  16. no boost leak, i checked u have to realize that this is not a t3 turbine anymore so spooling the turbo will be slower with a 2.5l vs a 2.8 also i can hit over 100mph in third tis thing is geared very low, like i said the vvt isn't hooked up yet so it might help a bit.
  17. the turbo is slow to spool with the rb25 but i dont know if it's cuz it's smaller than the l28et or cuz the vvt. i will find out tomrrow
  18. yea it is floored but it is not slow, the turbo i have is a t4e with a .70a/r on the compressor has the stock .63a/r on the turbine but it's machined out to handle a full t4 wheel. Also my rb trans with the 3.54 rear gear is equal to 6th gear in a 350z. 2200rpm is 60mph i wish it spooled quicker but the turbo's sweet spot is between 10 and 25psi so i'm just getting into the power when it slips

  20. these runs were in third gear i need to hook the vvt and see if she spools up better sorry for droppin the cam does run nice and in both the clutch started slipping at about 15psi and at about 5500 rpm. you can hear me in the second one letting off and getting back on it in the end
  21. here's mine and a 31" ic does fit ;)i had to use some really tight 90's but the 31" total length ic does fit. I can get some updated ones if you would like with the ic straight and all pipes on

  23. i was thinking the same thing about the music being loud i could adjust it so the music is there but quieter. Thanks for the link drifter, I have a buddy that lives only bout 14 miles away and he has a r33 gtr skyline. He just replaced his triple clutch with a dual and i am going to try and get it from him. One of the clutch fibers is warped but i am not too worried about that. I know his will work for sure and i'd like it to handle no matter what i throw at it.
  24. well here is the quick vid i made of the rb runnin in the 280 i'll see if i can get someone to vid me driving it so u can get a better vid. I found the limit of the stock clutch it only handles about 10psi on my t4e hybrid turbo then it starts slipping.
