it's not gonna be on the hood it's gonna go on the inspection door on the driver's side.I won't have to have a sender at all just use a flexable high pressure line so when you open the little door it doesn't break off after repeated openings.I'm gonna start work on it today cut the opening and start making the opening unit.It would be pretty easy to see and as for snow i dount anyone will want to drive their z that has to have a fuel pressure gauge or any other high performance gauge in the snow.I'm gonna hook up the light for the gauge too so it'l be easy to see at night. It will also be able to be turned off and turned on with a switch inside you can leave it on if you want it to come on when you turn the key on and off it will automatically close whent he key is turned off,and flip back up when the key is turned back on.I have everything figured out as far as the electronics go just have to put it all together. This whole thing should be way cheaper than an electronic and isolation type gauge including the cost of a mechanical gauge.I'll try to get some pics of the progress today.
-
owen it's gonna open just like the stock lid the reg way and then the middle will go up and down so it'll be more functional.I thought about making the whole thing open the opposite way but then changed my mind.I'm gonna start on it tomorrow ii have to go shopping with the lady today
-
ya sorry accessory flaps or inspection lids, i would make my own pece for the middle and i am gonna pull the parts from an old cd player i have. The isolator is kind of expensive too plus i have no place to mount it. I am gonna attatch the gauge to the part i'm gonna cut out then the main part of the flap will stay in it's location the the gauge will flip up and down.I have all the parts at my disposal just have to get them to come together and the wow factor is cool too:) I'll take pics once i make a working prototype.

hey guys i have been thinking about this for a while and i figured i'm gonna take one of my spare accessory flaps and cut the inside out and make it pop up with a fuel pressure gauge in it so i don't have to buy an expensive gauge I'm gonna make it electric opening and closing and so it shuts when the key is turned off.Should be nice and it will still open the regular way so you can still get to stuff.I'm gonna powder coat it black prolly do both to make them match.Anyone do this yet?

why don't you just get 370cc injs? The stock efi is good for more that 250rwhp my car is living proof. The afm is restrictive but does work good with 370cc injs, it can be adjusted to idle right and work really good. The stock turbo is good for 18 psi after that it's not really any good fro my expirences.I'm sure i could get more out of the stock efi but i do know it does restrict my system alot if i rev the engine up it will suck the afm in twords the turbo and then when i let it off it'll pop back out.So i am getting a haltech but my car is very drivable even with 420cc injs.
-
i'll prolly not get into the 11's with the afm i plan to pull the stuff out this winter :(I don't have any sound clips but i can record one once my laptop gets fixed :)The used parts are the best ones also fl327 well tested

well here is the mod list t3/t4e hybrid turbo .70a/r on the compressor housing,60-1 wheel, clipped turbine wheel stock exhaust housing(.63 a/r) stock bottom end, stock cam,76 intake,65mm tb,2.5" mandrel bent ic pipes, spearco ic(from timz),STOCK EFI proud of that one:) cd shafts in back, open 3.54 diff, aluminum flywheel and clutch specialties(also from timz)aluminum radiator(again from timz) i get alot of my parts from tim cuz they are well tested and tim gives me good prices.I run 20 psi on get this street tires and pump gas 93 octane the tires are just reg 205-55-16's i also have a blitz bov some gauges that help but don't make more power and i think that is it.
-
i'm curious what timz can run with his z i know that thing is nuts it is definately the fastest thing i have ever ridden in,I'm sure he could hit 10's and is is streetable :)That car makes my car feel like a yugo and mine runs low 12's I know i say this alot but for those who don't know my car ran a 12.98@105mph with the stock turbo, stovk dp,volvo ic,370cc injs and stock clutch in a heavy 280 so it's not uncommon for a 240 to do good with less.Look at jersey he is just about turning my times and i have a bigger turbo and injs and a bit more done to mine than he does. The weight helps alot that's for sure i wanna put my z on a diet

as far as i know the diesel engines are suppose to run cooler than a gas engine. So it would take less for a gas engine to turn a big turbo than a diesel.Anyone know if i'm right?

ok i'll look for you on aim

cruez i don't have a place to host it.I can't send it thru email cuz our email service won't let me.If you have aim i can send it to you thru that.My name on aim is scottymizt
-
it looks like he got me for a while but her only got me the first 30 feet or so my 60 foot was 2.014 his was 2.004 so it was way close on the start too.He ended up running a 13.37@103mph
-
i think he took it off jersey if you have aim i can send it to you are you on any other messangers?
-

hey scott i have 420cc injs and i have mine tightend about as far as it will go but i ahve to warn everyone running the spring this tight you will have to renforce the tab that holds the spring down cuz it's only plastic. As for your situation adjust it more and put your fuel pressure back to where it was everyone ssays that the afm doesn't do anything under wot but i have found out from my tuning that it does make a difference. If i had it to lean or toi rich you could tell now if it was the transition that made all the smoke or lack of i don't know for sure. But i do know if it's too lean it won't rev up right and it'll buck also if it's to rich it'll do the same won't rev right it takes time to do but is well worth it.

well good to hear your back was wondering what happend to you no emails or anything starting to think i did something wrong What do you have left on your z?
-
lol that's the way to do it joe both of you keep me posted on results.
-
keep trying jersey joe will break one of these times i think you can get close jeresy the 370's are a big diff in the quarter i found out the hard way after timz kept saying get bigger ones and i kept saying mine work fine well i should have listened to him more cuz they did make a night and day diff.Len you are so funny how's the car been doing i haven't heard from you in a while

scottyMIz replied to scottyMIz's topic in Turbo / Supercharger
i'll try to get a pic dunno when i am going out that way again.Might be able to see another fire truck with the same thing. -
it's a t3/t4e hybrid .70a/r on the compressor and a 60-1 wheel. The exhaust is stock .63 i beleive and a clipped wheel.Spools great and has lots of top end. When i get a new turbo plan to sell this one to potoz for his turbo z.It is a garret too reg bearings i modified the thrust bearing after i killed one from the plate lifting.

diff mount i'm not worried about but lsd yes and tires yes those will come when i become a network guy

thanks again guys and yes juan it is all stock even have the crappy afm on there here is the link to zdriver. http://zdriver.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=2171&thumb=1 These show most the mods don't mind the other pics just projects and the head gasket isn't mine it's rags's
