  1. well guys it was packed out there so i managed only two runs have both on vid and i must say i even impress myself :)i'll give you the second run first since it was the "bad" run 13.167@113.8mph with a scorching 2.557 60 foot time the tires spun way too much and i totally screwed up my time. ok for the best run of my life and still bombed the launch got a 2.014 60 foot time and 1/8th mile of 8.040@90.95mph and my et of 12.385@114.352mph just big grins from me but i do have one problem me and potoz (jd) swapped diffs and then second run i think i broke it again i have a big vibration but only when i have three ppl in the car I know i know car is only ment for two ppl but we needed a ride and figured why not take one car :)The funny thing was the look on the other guy's face he was in an older car looked quick he launched great and i passed him.At the end of the track the look on his face was like holy$hit and gave me a nod.This car is very hard on diffs i'm running open 3.54 diffs and have killed three so far if i include this one.It seems to be ok except for the vibration which might be a mount i broke and haven't found yet.The car is definately a 11 sec car has the potential for sure.I rtan on street tires 205-55-16's and on 93 octane pump gas full tank too. man those grins aren't even close
  2. i wish i lived closer too looks like it's raining a bit here too but i have til 12 til they will call it off.They are also open tomorrow so if it rains today i'll get the car al set and then go tomorrow.If i could et a job like with justin or something i'd prolly move over there Althought new jersey has to have the stupidest road system i have ever seen no left turn screw that.Can't pump your own gas and emissions but from what joe has told me my car would be excempt cuz it's old enuf.Keep buggin him jersey get his car going so he has no excuse
  3. i hope to get vid of mine too i have one vid up but no sound if tony still has it on his site.All that was wrong makes me want to see what she can really do with a deicent launch and a good pistons I wish mine was a lite as your z mine weighed in at 2700lbs with out me and a full tank of gas.Joe should get his butt out there and represent
  4. thanks yo, jersey your right where i am in quarter times my best so far is a 12.86@109mph my best trap speed with a crappy launch was 110mph with my bum piston.I let off when it started spinning and got back into it still managed a 13.22@110.228mph so we are close.The last run with the 110 mph trap was at 20psi the only runi did at 20psi cuz i thought i broke the diff it was just a half shaft adpater came loose

  6. hey guys was installing a radio in a new fire truck the other day and we had to open the hood to get our wires ran and i see this turbo on the truck(smaller than mine ) and i see that it has an internal wastegate which is weird on the big diesel engines i have seen.But anyway after the gate and a little ways down the dp there was a coller with i'm guessing is a flap hooked to an actuator like it chokes back the exhaust.Now rags and i where thinking he says maybe a brake and i'm thinking maybe something to help the turbo spool.Prolly both wrong but wanted your info on it.
  7. they do make a big diff jersey you'll see in your quarter times i dropped like half a sec just from putting them in.Mine idled nice too had to turn the afm a bit more but it did run very well.I have the 420's now and my car still runs and idles nicely.Keep up posted i'm going to the track tomorrow wish me luck

  9. ok the brackets are from an 80 maxima non diesel just got the email from bret.you can get em from nissan dunno the cost but i paid 60 bucks for mine, and they where new.But i'll keep an eye out my one friend didn't have anymore.
  10. it is a direct fit was made just for the z and comes with the pipes well mine did.the name on top is ron davis number is 602-269-9194 dunno if it's in service still but it's worth a try
  11. bracket is from a maxima calipers and rotors are from an 83 280zx.The earlier calipers are not the ones you want they are different so look for the 83 ones they are much smaller and nicer.The bracket is from a maxima but the year i'm not too sure i know the ones from an 81 will work but i think mine where from like the 85 year maxima i can confirm that when the guy i bought them from emails me back.
  12. bastaad i blew my stock gasket twice the first time it blew to the side of the block making a psssst noise i figured the exhaust was leaking and kept driving her then it blew to the water jacket and holy water Mine blew in number 6, also i HIGHLY doubt like the others that you broke a piston.I am realy good at breaking pistons now i have broken three and all broke due to MAJOR detonation like a whole crap load.Every time iw as my fault and every time i didn't screw up the cly walls.The stock head gasket will hold alot of boost mine held over 30psi when my car was over boosting the reason my gasket blew was cuz my fuel pump power line was loose on the battery terminal and would stop working sometimes and usually under full load that is what killed it.Also you get some high compresson for a turbo motor i have always have gotten 100psi on all my turbo rebuilds has your head bee shaved before?The n/a stock compresson on my other motors have been in the 110 to 125 range.Might just be my engine

  15. hey guys got the idea from rags(joe) didn't even know you could do it til i saw his car(very nice cars i might add) and he told me about them so i went out and got some brackets and did the swap myself.Had to move the mounts where the lines met the rubber hoses cuz the e brake bracket hit the hoses the first big bump i hit poking holes in both sides so i cut the old mounts off and moved them up to miss everything.I used some clamps to hold the brake hose off the half shafts and even the e brake works no mods at all just have to run the e brake cable around the half shaft.These pics are old when i first did it so you'll see where not to leave the hoses if you have a lowered first gen z before................. and after..............

  17. hey guys had my head off today and noticed the exhuats manifold and gasket are much bigger than the head's opening.how many people have ported it that size and could you tell the diff?
  18. i was running 30psi of fuel pressure i think that's why it wouold dip lean then jump rich.I got it at 40 now and i'll see tomorrow how it runs.Thanks
  19. ok guys return line is good must just be the pump.I was wondering what you guys ran for fuel pressure?
  20. it's prolly my prob being an aftermarket pump but it just seems to loud and gets louder the lower the rpm.The mounts are new and i have no dampener took it out was all rusty.Thanks
