  1. i just have to ask one question doesn't the hybridz logo say "when stock don't cut it"?Then that indicates it's all non stock z's?
  2. I'm with james and dave usually i post under the turbo section but i do look under the l6 board for great tech info.I agree that it will be a pain to weed out the v6 stuff from the l6 stuff and so on.It's kinda funny but it seems like the people with v8's are starting to single the l6 out cuz as you said it's not a real swap.I'd have to say anything that has had a motor modified and swapped into it is a hybridz. You do know that newbe's have to learn too and most don't get a reply from zcar and searching the archives just in my opinion sucks your question doesn't totally get answered. Also i personally like the real answers to YOUR question not someone elses.I have been on here for a while sometimes asking stupid questions sometimes asking good ones and both times i ahve gotten responses and they where answered in a very pleasant way.I like this site cuz there was from what i saw no bashing of any types of cars or owners.Strong opinions where shown but no stereo typing of your a v8 and i'm a l6 it just seems to be looking more and more that way to me.What happned to the i'm telling ya forum too? That one was a good one also.I like the fuel delivery one that sums up pretty much everything on one shot.I don't like zcar for that same reason dave made and that you get the "search the archives dummy" from them most the time.I'm with james in saying hope i don't get kicked off for speaking my mind.
  3. 145mph on the speedo with the windows down the car was all oevr the road very scary and prolly wouldn't do it again.I wasn't at redline and it was still pulling(this was last year racing that camaro ss)I did it down a flat road that no one travels but it's just way to dangerous for me to do it again.
  4. Bummer aux i love mine bought it for 400 bucks and i spent maybe a total of 200 on the rest of the parts to make it look as it does now.My friend painted it for me as a b-day gift and i had a few friends that owed me favors so i got the stickers for free and tires.Nice riding bike i ran a 11.8 @117mph at the track last weekend for an old bike she has balls
  5. old man bike? naw all bikes are equal unless you have a mopd or something
  6. nice bike aux what happend to it?
  7. just wanted to show an updated pic of my bike it's an 88 750 ninja with 97zx6r wheels and breaks in the front.MOdded the front fairing cuz it was all smashed and i didn't know how it went so i made it.oh ya and my dog that's zeus he's a mix of sharpe and beagle
  8. i think at the next track date i'll try a launch like you do lockjaw.you should be fine with 9psi of boost with no ic mine didn't have any probs when i firtst turned mine up.just keep an ear out for it.
  9. i run 215-50-16's on my z and it's not even close to enuf tire.My clutch doesn't slip at all it'll stall the car before it'll slip so that's why i slip it.I suggest more tire at least in the back a 190 is skinny.Maybe just get a set of used tires and wheels for the back for the track.Good luck anyway
  10. I'm interested and the dohc thing is a good idea in my eyes zach but the single would be nice also.how much is it gonna take before he makes one?like order wise?
  11. I slip mine when i race at the track but like sleeper says it's either spinning or bogging i don't bog much but it does happen.I launch mine at about 4 to 5k and slip it til i get moving and then just dump it the rest of the way to limit the spining. What size tires you run on your z?
  12. i have the whole section for the turbo wiring if anyone wants it it's like 1.5mgb so you need a big in box on your email.I also have the 76 manual too if anyone wants that.
  13. thanks len i'm running the 3.54 rear gear. They where diecent times i liked the mph but the times are a bit slow.I'll just have to pull it apart tomorrow and see what let loose.
  14. well i got mixed results on this run at the track. My first run was against my bike that my little bro was riding and i smoked it off the line he cought up at the end and just barely past me.I managed a best et for the night of 13.147@107mph at 15psi the 60 foot time was 2.042(crapy)My bike managed a 12.686@109.566mph.But i did get a new best trap speed of 110.229mph and with a 2.2 60 foot time the end time of that run was 13.228 secs.I have major traction problems off the line car spins alot hard to hold the power down.I need some nice drag slicks or radials.I ran again on pump gas 94 octane and the boost was bumped up to 19psi on that 110mph run.I have to tune it now and figure out what i screwed up in my diff it made some interesting noises when i did my burn out and when i turned to pull into my parking space at the track, i think it's shot Oh well good first time at the track i'm figuring stuff out now.Plan to run again very soon.
  15. ok thanks guys just wondering how important it was and if i should take it off or not i'll keep i til it dies Then i'll get another to replace that one.
  16. I was just wondering who has them on their car still and if they are important enuf not to remove them from the car.I still have mine and it looks like it's been thru a war and back was thinking of takingif off and didn't want to screw anything up.
  17. I can't wait til i get that haltech from owen i hate the stock efi it's just too maxxed out on my car.I have to figure out now why the stupid a/f meter drops out when you push the pedal just right.I dunno what it is but it seems like the ecu is telling the voltage to drop on the o2 line.
  18. I dunno about the 300afm but for the cas you can use the 81 ecu they are the same. But you'll need to make the 83 diz work with your engine either make it work like i did or swap out the whole oil pump shaft to the 83 one.I'd say use the stock 81 cas until it quits mine lasted two years and i think leaving it in a box all winter with a bunch of junk killed mine.Maybe dropping it too might have shortened it's life but the 83 unit is much nicer
  19. hey mudge the 81 and 82-3 are all the same i have an 81 harness an 82 ecu andan 83 cps It'll all work together it's all the same stuff mostly except for the cps
  20. didn't mean to sound snotty or anything nathan just didn't want anyone to get the stuff and be disapointed I had to do some modding to make it work, but it will work if you don't mind cobbling .I also had to move my spark plug wires one location over cuz the 83 cps lines up in a different location than the 81.I always heard that it was a direct swap and to my suprise it wasn't just wanted to pass the knowledge;)
  21. the 81 harness and ecu are just like the 82-83 my cps died on my set up and i swapped an 83 cps in but it's not a direct swap or plug and play.I had to take the ring off the bottom of both dists and swap it from one to the other unless you swap the shaft that goes to the oil pump.I like the 83 cps better it's much easier to adjust and nothing can get into it and break it like a rock. The shafts are different one is smooth with the ring and the other on the 83 is splined and won't fit in the 81 motor.
  22. i want an electronic boost controller but they are out of my range for now.It is a testimate to the engine on how much they can take and keep on taking.Every time i break something or have a problem it's mostly my fault and this engine just keeps taking all the punishment i give it.How much did you pay for your boost controller?
  23. well here is the story i decided to get a new boost gauge cuz i have the dual gauge pillar pod and it's hard to look back and forth at the boost gauge and a/f gauge cuz i have the boost gauge in the clock location.Well after work i decide why not put it in only take a few minutes .So i put the new gauge in and leave the old one in for now hook everything up and as i was taking off the hose to the intake to put on the new one i noticed the hose looked kinda kinked and thought you know i wonder if it's reading right. So i get it all hooked up and go home i step on it to see what it says and i couldn't believe the reading this new gauge gave me i was boosting over 25psi i let of when it went over 25 cuz i didn't want to mess it up.I backed off my controller and tried again it got to 20 and i let off again cuz it should have been boosting about 10 not 20.I replumbed my boost controller cuz i thought it was not working right. Come to find out it was my hose for the boost gauge and not the timing problems or boost controller like i thought. It was trying to handle over 25psi all the time and when it was cold it did it no prob but after it got warm , detonation.I tried alot of timing adjustments and it seemed nothing would work and now i know why. I do have to say this is another test that the l28et passed with flying colors and i still have the stock efi and bottom end.I feel kinda stupid but at least i found the problem
  24. i love tim's car i want mine to be like his when it grows up The engine bay is so clean in that car it's hard to believe tim drives it When you planning on getting it running tim?
