  2. hey guys i have the chance to get a 200sx turbo motor says it runs took it out for a v8 conversion and cuz the car had elec probs so the engine wouldn't start.I thinki want to get it for my lady's 67 1600 roadster (datsun) think it would be a nice engine for the job but i know nothing about it really.The motor is from a mid to late 80's 200sx anyone have any good or bad exp with these?
  3. tim is the man i saw the car in person and i got to ride in it two years ago and i had to change my pants when i got out I saw the set up before with nothing welded onto the intake tb's and it was just impressive looking at it there now it's just insane Oh Ya tim when you get sick of looking at that beau........ i mean hidious intake i'll take it Is it running yet tim i really want to see it in person again.
  4. i don't have a rev limiter on my 81zxt set up and it does hold alot of power so far.My turbo spools nice starts at about 2500rpm and then by 3000 i'm at full boost tires spinning as soon as i get full boost in first and second I have a t4e/t3 hybrid with a 60 turbine wheel .70 a/r on the compressor housing.I have the stock zxt turbine housing and a clipped turbine wheel, I love mine even at 8 psi it is much faster than my stock turbo at 18psi.I am up to 11 now just cuz the car scares me right now have to get use to it again.The new ic made a world of difference even with everything else the same.

I got the adapters from andy(thanks again andy )I didn't know it was a two piece adapter but they do work good so far.I had to modify the end links on the sway bars cuz they hit a little bit.I'll get some pics tomorrow i didn't have the camera when i did the swap.It took me about three hours to do it since the fit was tight but it sounds so much better no more clunking much smoother transition into gears man i like em.I have to yet test them for a long haul but so far they are very nice.I noticed that they rub on the wheel i didn't modify the end link for the sway bar so i have to do that tomorrow so i'll get pics when i take it apart.If you are thinking of doing this swap i sayi am very happy so far with the results.

  9. i get the porsche thing too i just explain that i wouldn't disgrace my car with that name on there At the last car show i was at i was the only nissan/datsun at the car show all muscle cars there and i got alot of younger kids checking it out cuz of the bright orange interior and out and they ask what kind of car is that and i say a datsun they look like umm ok and i say a nissan? they are like oh ya ok a 300zx then?I say no a 280 can't you read?I have all the orignal badging on the car so it's not like i'm lying.Also the paper they give you to put in the window says all the same stuff.But i did get alot of older guys coming up and saying nice datsun i use to have a 240 or a 260 or 280 depending on the people But then i got some jerks who say nothing and go right on by to the next muscle car with out even glancing at mine I have gotten the rx7 thing and corvette once, some people
  10. nope i had to use the 83 cas to replace the 81 unit cuz mine stopped working for some reason.I had to take the ring off the end off the old dist that was in the car it kinda floats on the 83 shaft bottom but it works which is all i needed.I have it timed close to right now but it has more lag now i might just have to fine tune it i didn't have time yesterday hey you got aim?
  11. i tried but it won't run so i just cut the metal out from one side of the grooves for adjustment.It ran great advanced that much but i got ping at high boost and didn't know why till i checked the timing.I just thought maybe i timed it wrong mechanically and not physiacally adjusted.I really need to get a new system i just need the cash
  12. how many guys have swapped the whole dist into an 81 engine?I did, i had to do some modifications.The problem i had and a question is that it wouldn't time right on the scale on the engine block it was like 2" under it.My question is will it still run that far advanced?I modified the dist so it would turn to get the timing mark on the scale.I think i have it right but i don't want to mess up the engine.I heard that the cps from the 83 would drop right in but i found out quick that it won't. It is a good swap car runs much better than with the 81cps and it's much liter takes up less space.

  14. dang they are orange i'm color blind, no wonder everyone looks at the car i actually matched the car's paint to the interior when i painted it how many people do that huh? yep i'm demented but that's what makes me interesting right
  15. thanks guys i like to cobble i mean fix things This i think will hold pretty well and if not i could make the groove bigger to hold another seal making it twice the width but seal better.You know i have taken this turbo apart so many times in the last week i could do it with my eyes closed

  17. it worked guys so far no smoke after some time i'll let you know how it works but it runs good now and no white smoke
  18. i got a blitz and i love it i scared some ladies with it one day when i went by it is loud too depending on your boost and i vent mine to the atmosphere and i have the stock zxt efi, no probs with stalling it runs great with it.I only heard the turbo xs rfl on bbz's car but only in the vid so i couldn't really tell you any thing but what mine sounds like.
  19. it's ok yo thanks tho hey anyone know where i can get another new wheel like lockjaw said stage V or III? I'm gonna try the spacer thing to see if it works and if it does then we have a bandaid for those who do not havethe cash to get one right away and if not i'm not out anything

  21. it's right there but really i am gonna try to shim it with a c clip just to take up the space, I guess it's worth a try. I wonder how much just the shaft will cost?I can get a stock one i have one in my other parts turbo but mine is clipped and i like the way it was before Spooled up nice flowed good does the clipping help alot?I figure if you weld it slow like a little bit at a time it shouldn't destort cuz it deals with heat all the time from the exhaust and doesn't distort.Or maybe i should just stop being cheap and get a new one Dunno just looking for options to the expensive route.
  22. not the center section the shaft with the turbine on it.The rest of the shaft is fine just the groove got bigger.
  23. hey guys it seems that with the bad thrust bearing made the groove in the turbine shaft where the seal goes get worn out so now oil leaks out after it warms up and i get alot of white smoke.The new seal won't help either since the groove is to wide to keep the oil out,I was thinking of putting in a spacer to make up for the room.I can also weld up the groove and have it milled out for the ring to fit again.OR maybe machine outr more metal and make two seals go side by side if they will fit.Anyone had any luck with this kind of thing?I don't want to get another one cuz they cost a bit and i don't have the cash now.Plus the turbine is clipped and i really don't want to get another.any help would be appreciated
  24. hey steve good to hear you got your ic in and the test you talked about is a good idea.Or you could just use carb cleaner or lube and spray it on all the joints or where ever you think it is leaking at the car willl idle lower when you hit the right spot.Mine runs unevenly but it's cuz of the big injectors.Mine hauls ass now i have her at 15 psi with timz's ic andman that thing is scary I can't wait for 20psi she will be insane.I also noticed when i rev her up it sucks the afm twords the turbo When you let off it goes back where it was now that definately tells me i need a new ems.
