Do you point the dist rotor to #1 or #5 (engine at TDC) when setting initial timing? My books are in storage and I can't remember right now. Thanks, David

If you're in the market for a vac cleaner I'd recommend the DYSON it rocks!!! My wife swore by her Panasonic till we got the Dyson. We vaccumed (sp) the bedroom floor like 10 times and it was still picking up "stuff" from the carpet (we have 2 dogs) it really "sucks" like no other vac AND you never have to buy bags for it $$$. Absoluty awsome IMO. d

I've run with and with out the GM friction modifier in my old Blazer (K5). It does reduce the "chatter" in the rearend. I'm planning on using it in my LSD along with synthetic gear oil when I do my install. Can't hurt. d

Title says it all... My sweetie is getting: (she really wanted this!!!) Dremel tool the one with 5,000 attachments Shiatsu (sp) massager. Diamond watch. My garage was a mess so I decided to get it in shape for the winter. I painted the ceiling, walls and trim. I hired Garage Concepts to refinish the floor and put cabinets in too. I’m probably one of the worlds worst at obtaining “while I’m at it syndrome†so Lisa and I painted the cabinets to give the garage a more finished look. The garage floor originally had 2 coats of LOUSY epoxy paint on it which never cured right. Garage Concepts chemically removed, striped and grinded the old floor down and then put a new brown “paint chip†epoxy floor down and sealed it with two coats of clear. I still need to do some spot painting and install the entertainment package (DVD/STEREO/CD/SPEAKERS) So without further ado here is my new and improved garage. Honey have you seen the Cobra??? Accident waiting to happen. Wall of shame. King size mattres for sale CHEAP. Clearing stuff out. Painting, most of the floor stripped. Floor ready for epoxy. Floor down cabinets in. Another pic. Hey Bill You're right about the 3.90 rear gear, you remember riding in mine? 1st goes by WAY too quickly followed by second. I just got my LSD (not in the car as of yet) with a 3.70. So you're thinking the 3.54 gears are better? I've got a set of those too and was wondering if it would be worth the trouble to install them in the LSD. Tell me your major gripe with the 3.70 are you doing a lot of freeway driving? I'm guessing you are. I'm only doing the twisty turns and stuff like the road to Branson. If you're interested in the 3.54's send me an e-mail (they're in a complete rearend right now). David

Well my buddy "Bob" finally let me drive his original Scarab that he brought to Arkansas from California. The fit and finish of the car is excellet. It has the Recaro seats and they really "hug" you. The car is quiet and solid. The 4 speed shifts smoothly but the engine is a little bit down on power compared to mine. So "Bob" wants MORE POWER and he wants me to give him ideas. I'm thinking a set of 180 AFR's and a new cam will get him the power he wants. ds
