Bill, Please accept my condolences, albeit late. Remember the good times and I promise the pain lessens over time. You will always have the memories. If you're feeling bad, emotionally please seek counseling. Believe me it works, I know because I too have lost somebody extremely close to me. God bless you. David Remember my car is always here if you want to drive. David

I've got a line on an LSD!!! David

Thank you Dan Juday. LSD, not the drug, not an open R-200 (I've got 2 one in the car 3.90 and one in a crate 3.54 geared) but a clutch type 3.70 geared LSD. So anyone? David

15MPH in the drive way. Throttle stuck hit the back garage wall, all while I was hanging out the window trying to pull the e-brake. With the 350 installed no way, don't want to know. -
Ok perhaps I started "something" with my "Bush Wins" thread but now in the name of the Z car and this board I'm asking that we STOP the political debates on this board. I am guilty of my thread and will quit posting on any topic of political nature. The election is over, a clear winner has been declared so let us as a community move forward with what this fourm was intended to be, a place where we can dicuss the modification of Z cars. I am concerned of what we have become as of late. Bashing one another because we don't see eye to eye on politcs, blaming our leaders of our problems yet the true spirit of what HybridZ should be has become diluted since the weeks leading up and following the election. I'm asking all members to consider what they posting prior to clicking the submit button on a new topic if it concerns politics. Bash me if you want, but I for one am done with the election of 2004 and I hope you are too. Now, does any body have an R-200 LSD for sale??? Come on I know somebody out there does!!! David

AG Olphart, No harm no foul. I'll admit I had a few before I got on line last night. Sorry if I came across as a jerk waving my big American flag in one hand and my German flag in the other. Again no hard feelings. Now back to Z cars... David

Sieg Hiel (sp) Ok just kidding. Or not? Let me tell you about myself. Both of my parents emigrated in the early 50's to the US from Germany. Do I speak with a German accent? NO. I was born in Chicago grew up in (ahem) Arkansas. I am the first person in my family to obtain a college degree. (it took me 10 years to get a 4 year degree WORKING FUL TIME). I am proud of my heritage. My father grew up in "der ost" or east Germany when it was the “Great Empireâ€. He even saw Hitler himself in the flesh. What was instilled in me was NOT a reliance upon government by my parents but the realization that I am responsible for my own future. My father throws nothing away, makes the most of what little he has and accepts NO charity although he lives on the poverty line. He’s way too proud, period. Me on the other hand. I’ve got a little, I know I cannot take ANYTHING out of this world and I can share with the less fortunate. Coming from an immigrant family I understand the plight of the people coming to the US. They have little yet they have everything to lose. The U.S. provides for most an education that is not available in their county and opportunity to excel (my father worked 3 jobs when he got here) The problem is that “some†immigrants coming here are looking for a “hand out†from us. This is unacceptable. Why should I as a working man support a person that is either here illegally? Especially after my parents busted their asses and only receive minimal social security benefits? Gelt (money) uber allas … No I don’t think so OPPORTUNITY, that’s where it lies. BTW, I am a 17 year military veteran that just told my unit that “I QUIT.†Yep, 3 more year of service and I could collect a retirement…at age 65 how’s that for MONEY UBER ALLAS?

Sure, they got the age group registered to vote by hanging out in front of Wal-Mart and the mall but when it came time to show up and vote guess what (office consensus here) they wouldn't put down the X-box game controller long enought to get out to the polls and vote. Now this is scary again: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=536&ncid=536&e=7&u=/ap/20041103/ap_on_el_pr/eln2008 ds

Instead of putting a * for degrees ie 180* you can use º by pressing alt then 167 after the number: 180º So it's 52º in NW Arkansa this morning. I thought it was neat ds

Now you're thinking in the right direction $$$. Bush in the White House will lend stability to our economy thus the markets will continue to grow and prosper. Although we are no where near the same highs of 1999-2000 it is growing. Look back to 2002 when the Dow was down in the 7K range. That was scary. Although yesterdays close was above 10K (down day due to exit polls showing Kerry ahead mind you) I'm thinking we'll be over 10.5K just after New Year provided we have a good Christmas season. So go buy "stuff" keep this economy churning. One thing that sux the $$$ out of our economy is the price of crude oil. I've started driving slower just to get a .nth better MPG out of my truck. But if I was sooo concerned with fuel prices I would buy a more economical car. Current daily driver is a 2002 Dodge Ram 4X4 with a Rancho 4" lift and 35" tires. But work is only 10 minutes away from the house. To everybody out there that is under the age of 40. Start saving something even if it's a little bit. The Social Security system is not elastic enough for us to draw much $$$ from it when we retire. Depend upon yourself NOT the government. ds

Deal Gone Sour - Not All 'Hybriders' Have Code of Ethics

Had to jump in here. Younger. Younger than what? The earth? Come on guys the guy is VENTING!!! Get off his ass. You tell him to keep it to himself why don’t you keep your opinion to YOURSELF? You can't, neither can I. He points out the culprit immediately. Older members= school of hard knocks. He's just trying to share wisdom here, not a direct strike at anybody under the age of 100. Here we see that the majority of what he has "heard" in the past. Again NOT a strike at younger <100 years old. This is an apology going out to the “younger†members on the board. So why are you guys jumping on him? Redemption, period. Come on Ivan, you've been called out. Time to make good on this. Let the buyer beware? I think the parts were misrepresented. So who voted for Kerry? haha ds BTW I'm 35 and the youngest in my office. -
Saw that last week on another board...yawn d

Don’t forget the refrigerator, flashlight, lug wrench, stove, umbrella Make a quick bite to eat while changing a flat tire on a rainy night. I hear ya on the unorganized garage thing though. I finally got FED UP with my $hit pit and emptied almost everything out of it. The "junk" took up most of a 10X20 storage building. I called in "Garage Concepts" my wife immediatly wanted the epoxy "paint chip" floor that he had samples of. We ordered cabinets and work benches with drawers and a wall locker. So, currently I'm in the process of painting the garage and getting everything ready for the floor guy to start next Friday. Organization rocks!!! Hope I get there soon. I'll post up some pics soon. SOLID ROLLER LIFTERS vs HYDRAULIC ROLLER
dsommer replied to Corzette's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
I don't think you can exchange between the two. I would contact the cam mfg to find out though. From what I believe a solid lift cam is ground less agressively ie ramp and total lift than a hyd cam. With a solid roller you get all the lift all the time vs having to "pump up" a hyd lifter (as RPM increase so does lift?) I am running a solid roller on the street (don't ask I just wanted to do it) I know there are members that can better answer this question than I cam however I am happy with my set up. Can post specs later. ds -
The tranny mounts are welded to the transmission tunnel. This was one of the more challenging things of my build. They are NOT easy to remove. It helps to have an air chisle, big hammer, cold chisle and patience. Once removed and during the install you may have to clearence the tunnel with a hammer. Just give it a whack here and there no big deal. As far as what tranny to use I used the World Class T-5. Remember when using a 5 speed to get the bell housing and ALL associated parts. Clutch slave etc. Challenges in installing the T-5 plus additional costs are. Challenges: Having ALL parts Fabricating hose from the clutch master cyclinder to the slave. I had a hydrolic (sp) shop custom make mine in braided line. Shorten the clutch pedal linkage Costs: Clutch master cyclinder (Tilton 7/8") New clutch Shifter if you want something other than stock. I used a Hurst short throw billet shifter. Hose See Zach ALL of the above metioned items are in the JTR book. This site will help explain what is not coved so clearly in the book but this site is NOT a replacement FOR the book. Please order the book and you'll see what I talking about. I had my book for 2 years before I did my conversion, I kept it in the bathroom and read it over and over so I knew and understood what I was looking at when I reached that area of the conversion. Asking price is 9.5K. I'm going to look at it tomorrow morning spoke with the owner this evening. Supposedly it has a 383/700R4 combo in the Scarab position ie engine set forward. It has A/C. I'm sure the price is flexible as most modded cars are. What are you looking for 240, 260, 280? I always keep my eyes out for any first generation cars but if somebody is set on a 240 they don't want anything else. This car is a 280.

Found one this afternoon in Rogers, ARK. 1977 full body kit, red, decent interior, 350/700R4 tranny already installed, alum 14" wheels. Nice car IMO. Yes it's for sale. Details to follow. How much are you looking to spend? $$$???
