  1. But you... but the... but it's.......
  2. AS for the widebody. have you concidered doing what GI Jonas has dnoe? his idea is the best way to get a widebody, I'd say short of cutting the original panels and riveting fibreglass onto it. Raff.
  3. I'm in love with this. you got me thinking, it that's how you've done it, I think it's a great idea
  4. if he's got the wheels that are in the JCR Catalogue on the 84 turbo z, I'll git'em!
  5. sure. it's called "gunk engine degreaser" it's made by solder seal company, and part of their "gunk" line. you could also use SimpleGreen Max.
  6. amen. it's not like you have to buy new parts to get things balanced.. that's what balancing is for! making old parts work like they should! spend the cash, bank the tears for later!
  7. I'm glad it wasn't any worse. she could have tried to pry the hood and burned herself really bad, and she acted quite quickly. your motor may still be ok, and i hope most of the car is intact and that it will just require some cleanup and a new wiring kit. new wiring for the interior can go for about 140 bucks online as starter kit (not a nissan jobber), and it's all new wiring and nicely built. fire hoses are very powerful, but I'd imagine it didn't take long for them to put it out, and that if anything they just powerblasted any residual oil off the block (hey it's cleaned up and ready to pull!). sorry to hear what happened, and I'm sure you'll make it turn out better than before. I tried to relocate my fuel filter from right over the alternator. Not a good place for a lot of the electronic stuff on the Z's.
  8. hey hey hey.... hate is a strong word. Remember one thing... this isn't for us... it's for you! sissy.
  9. here you go. 910 gram bottle enough? http://www.aviatec.net/page_produit_uk.php?prod=9539
  10. does anyone find the use of the combination of words "excuse me" to be more aggressive than saying "scyooz me". LOL. the incorrect way never gets a weird frown, the correct pronunciation always gets this "look of devastation" or something from the parties addressed.
  11. quick work! might need some small adjustments when it's in there, but nice solution to get'r runnin
  12. got mine a week ago. cool magazine. needs more feature articles. i'm tired of buying magazines for ONE good article now. And I was surprised to see benson hsu (if it's the same ben) as the editor. I remember he was one of the popular dudes who first had a sileighty conversion and also a cute girlfriend who had her own drift car or something. Glad someone that kept at it has finally got to where they need to be.
  13. take one, leave one... as long as it's not there when I get back, or someone elses wasn't taken or left ontop of it... I don't give a **** !
  14. thanks woldson, i agree with your analysis. i trudge through cold virii like they don't exist. everyone else complains, i never do... and it's gone in about 2 days. hopefully he will be smart and do what he did this week and man up if something hurts. But most importantly to fight it with the strength he had going in these two operations, and hopefully coming out with more than he started with. i was impressed at the speed he recovered the first time around. reminded me of.... me! only 3 times my age!
  15. OSPHO is phosphoric acid rust-deoxidizer, and music wire is exactly that... guitar wire.
  16. My father has an electronics book from the 80's that displays how to make an electronic tachometer that is a bunch of magnets epoxied to the drive shaft with a reluctor magnet to sense rotation speed. So i figured making it smaller and fitting it into a housing like that of the speedo adapter is what they would end up doing. LOL @ your avatar and user title.
  17. I have rust bullet, but haven't used it. is it weldable? I think it's an aluminum compound, so I'm not sure if it will hold up well.
  18. +1 on the RTV. Whomever did the last one on my trans probably did not remove the fill plug and just vacuum pumped the old trans or something through the check plug, which was sealed overly-tight WITH RTV. question, what's the diff between grey and black RTV? I got both of the Permatex Right Stuff brand, and the grey is for "imports" apparently.
  19. IF YOU WANT YOUR MANHOOD BACK, YOU WILL REMOVE THAT FILL PLUG, DAMNIT! trying to take the easy way out, are you!? why we oughtta... :lmao:
  20. wouldn't the relay board make it much easier to transport or remove an entire customized harness if there is a failure of some sort? I think for cleanliness factor and easier setup the relay board is a good bet if you got the extra tempo, moola, and patienza.
  21. Hi X64v, that looks awesome. what kind of hose is that bright blue stuff? May I ask why you did not run a straight 180' fitting rather than a 90' angle fitting to the side? Or was it a direct heat issue? I think making a small cover plate to separate the two and having a the 90 turned the other way and going into another 90 would make it seem invisible. but it does have that coolness factor. Also, i've never quite seen this on an L head before, but are those punched out exhaust ports and liners fitted to the old square shaped exhaust ports?
  22. lol, even though he's 63 he looks probably around 53! I agree that having it re-opened right now will preserve the tissue in its healing state rather than it's fully healed state that may or may not heal back to 100% due to being opened up again on the scar tissue. He is quite tough. my neighbour noticed my father being too hard on himself when they were installing a deck in his backyard, and my father was pushing my neighbour to make it like 100% perfect and stuff, and my neighbour couldn't care less if things were off by a quarter inch here or there. but my father's mentality grew on me too. do it once, do it right if it's a big expensive job!. ultimately, too much working in the heat and over-exertion will do weird things. accelerate the heart rate. dehydrate the body. yada yada, this and that. Heart needs to pace itself, blood needs oxygen, water provides it. etc. etc. my father definitely needs to take it easy. sucks though cause when I get my Z built I don't know if I want to drive my dad around in it or bring him to the nearby race tracks.... mainly for obvious "holy ****" back-straight scenarios @ XXX mph :-/ And I know all of you guys don't mean anything offensive by your wording. I take it all as a complement.... and in dire times I consider them typo's. LOL. just curios, what do you mean by "Not many left, unfortunately." And yeah, I can be tough sometimes. More so on myself, but I know what you mean Thanks for your support, woldson et. all
