2004 is going to be a great year!! I will finally have some time to do other things apart from burying myself in the garage....I can actually run rubber to the road with the Z!!! Plus a new position at work, plus getting an office instead of a cubicle in the rat maze....Plus putting an addition on the house, doubling the square footage of the house, and moving the washer/dryer from the garage back to the house...whoo hoo more space for me and Mongoose!! The only problem I see with these 'race car' type paint schemes is that it stands out like a race car and becomes a magnet for cops and speeding fines, and if a cops suspects you of street racing, you will be guilty by association. maybe i'm just paranoid though . It's a nice paint scheme nonetheless...

Great. Take that Rodeo. I could really use a good laugh when it rolls over...... . No but really...the rodeo is infamous for a very unstable center of gravity. Take the 'Vette instead!!! Or even better, go to Budget rent a car and rent a Mustang or something......drive the crap out of it, then take it back.

One question to ask yourself seriously!: Are you going to be satisfied with 250HP in 6 months, or a year. I've owned a ZXT, and it was fun to drive. I have always been a V8 guy because upgrading HP is cheap and easy. Think about what you are going to want in the future. Tim

Hmmmm...hate to state the obvious, but you put the cart before the horse here. Esp. with the S&W kit, you need to build it around the seats that you choose. Now that I'm done stating the bloody obvious, the only things I can suggest: 1: Search the seat manufactures sites for narrow seats. Try the Scat ones. 2. Disassemble your rollcage and widen it. When I did my main hoop, I actually stretched the hoop out quite a bit, just to give it that extra little bit. I also have my seats almost right up against the tunnel. Hope that helps out a bit.... Actually Mike, it's only one stripe. And, until I can give the car a good wash and wax, I highly doubt that the camera will pick up the subtle change in color. It basically starts at the point of the bulge (the top bodyline) and runs the width of the bulge all the way to the back and ends at the bottom rear of the spoiler, before it would go into the rear panel. Yup, pretty much what I did. I have a stripe down the middle of my car, starting at the point of the power bulge on the hood, and rounding out at the bottom of the rear spoiler. Just mixed up the same color paint, but without the aluminum mixed in. It is completely invisible until direct sunlight hits it. Tim

From the pictures, it appears as if it would mount in the same manner as the R230, but then you would not have the availability of JY parts like you would with the R230. The only advantage I can see is the ratio (4.08 ), if you needed one that deep. The Q45 R230 is only available as 3.54. Tim

There is no way mine will ever be a daily driver. You have to be Gumby to get in and out of it. Too many of the conversions are not Vehicle Code compliant. I put too much work into the little princess to have it dinged up in parking lots etc. Weekend warrior all the way 8) Tim

It doesn't cover the entire dash. It does go fully forward at the top, just like it's host, but falls short on the sides (by the doors). Tim

Not yet. I am going to pull my dash soon so that I can make the wiring a bit neater. When I do that, I will draw the diagram as I go. Tim

If you are going to use aftermarket gauges, and the car is going to be minimalized, I would highly recommend just yanking out ALL of the OEM wiring and starting from scratch. I did that, and it comes out much cleaner and neater, and most importantly, more logical than the OEM setup. Tim

I think that the lack of competition makes them not have to worry about it. There are some things that only MSA carries, so if you need it...what can you do! But I agree. I have some bad service from MSA. I have also had good service, but the bad taste lasts a lot longer than the good taste, and the bad taste seems to be more prevalent. Tim
