  1. Yeah...as far as I know, he died of a heart attack in Mexico while on a film shoot......
  2. Unbelievably crappy welds...... http://home.att.net/~jason510/l20bturb.htm

  4. You can shoot the clear as soon as the base has dried enough that it is not 'tacky' any more. No sanding necessary until you color sand the clear. Tim
  5. I used the stock F-body shifter, just cut the top half off to make it shorter. Tim
  6. I was at the bodyshop about 2 weeks ago checking on the progress of my little Opel GT. There was a beautiful C5, metallic blue (which is now also the color of the GT ) with a ding in the right 1/4 panel. Well, I went back today and the same Vette was there. I said...you guys are really taking your time with this car.....nope...it was back with more crash damage!! Vette drivers!! Tim

  8. Do a search here on HZ. Showcars has a terrible reputation!!!
  9. Check all the electrical connections....I assume that the injectors are plugged in? Something in the engine bay is unplugged.
  10. smart @$$! OK...clarification: Gasoline, 12volt, normal internal combustion 4 stroke injectors.....

    R230 swap info?

  12. Anyone know what the highest flow injectors that were available on factory cars in the USA? What flow rate and what impedance (high or low)? The largest I have heard of are the TT RX7 injectors, but are there larger ones?

    Misfiring

How old is the coil? If it is on its way out then it will provide weak spark under load or higher rpms... Tim
  14. Doug, The 750 was a gift from my Dad, so it has some sentimental value. Sorry man!
  15. John C: That is what the truck had prior to the engine build. Never got that great fuel mileage out of it. I love the 750DP, but I'm sure that it is killing my fuel consumption. The intake I have now doesn't have a spreadbore flange, so I would need an adapter...rather not do that. Jamie, Running through the CFM calculation, even a 600cfm carb is likely too large: 350ci*5000rpm/3456=506cfm*0.85 (optimistic % V.E.)=430cfm The spacer should help with low end torque, but I will try it both ways. I think I will stick with what I know and get a 600DP manual choke. Summit has some reman. units, but the new ones aren't that much more, so I will likely go with that.
  16. The part numbers above have the measurements. Compare with what you have in the car (include the thickness of the adapter). That will give you an idea. Tim
  17. There is a place in CA that makes (or used to) OHC 4 valves per cylinder heads, but they were about $5k per set and performance gains were only mild, so the price didn't warrant the expense. Tim
  18. Looks Awesome Rufus!!! Lots o' work there!! Looking at the lip, I was thinking that maybe it needs something to give the edge some roundness, you know, like the OEM lip has a fold... Maybe some tubing, like 1/4 fuel line or something could be bent to the shape of the arc, then welded to the inside edge to give it that 'finished' look? Looks great as-is.....just a thought. Tim
  19. These shafts are the correct length for The Q45 rear with stock Z hubs and 1/2 inch max adapters. Tim
  20. Not for my Z, but I figured the information could be used for the Z guys just as easily. This is for my 71 Chevy truck. I am currently running a Holley 750 Double Pumper, but I know it is wayyy over carbed. So, in an attempt to make it a bit more fuel efficient and the throttle a bit crisper, I am going to replace it with a 600 cfm carby. So here is the question. Which carb is best for these purposes (I have always been a Holley DP user): Option 1: Get a Holley 600 cfm Double Pumper Option 2: Get a Holley Street Avenger 670cfm (I think the 570 cfm will be too small) What are the benefits/cons to this 'new' carb? Option 3: Edelbrock performer 600 cfm carb. Again, benefits/cons to this type of carb? Option 4: Go Fuel injection....not really an option due to cost. (even with MS, I would still need to buy a bunch more stuff). Here are the engine specs: 350ci (not been bored, std bore) Vortec heads L98 Corvette cam grind.(heads have upgraded valve springs) Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold 1" carb spacer 1 3/4 primary full length headers TH350 tranny (soon to be upgraded to TH200 4R) The engine almost never sees any more than 5000rpm, and even then that's rare. Any words of wisdom, experiences etc....
  21. That will choke the upper RPM flow? Is that what you want to do?
