  1. I'm running a to4e 50 trim on mine with a 3/8 spacer with i believe stock studs. Without the spacer it fit when clocked correctly but was so close to the manifold i was worried about heat soak so we made a spacer. It is also a turbonetics unit. Best of luck!!!
  2. go Ls based truck engine 4.8 or 5.3 they are going for 300-500 bucks and are built well or just go get all 280zx turbo parts run it on what you have with like 10-12 psi. I highly recommend megasquirt if you go the l28et route. Im working on finishing my 3rd car using it and it gets easier every time. Best of luck.

  5. Do not run or make a pull with the wastegate disconnected!!! that is asking for a engine rebuild. (overboost) What the hell skirkland you know better than that? The ceramic wheels are fine for alot of boost but the epoxy holding it on will not deal with the heat. that turbo 12 psi is safe. I have a turbonetics t04e 50 trim with a bored t3 turbine i get 5 psi at 2500 and all in at 3300 at 10 psi on low and 16 on high boost. I have a homemade 2 stage boost controller. I recommend a t3/t4 on the l28 its a perfect fit. Just don't go huge unless your mods warrant it. Welcome to hybrid man!!! Best of luck. Shame skirkland.....

  8. I know guys in cali that have got a ticket for illegal exhaust modifications for having a chrome tip on! Now way you will get away with no muffler if its not stock there they will kill you lmao. Best of luck.
  9. I have ran a open 2.5'' dp for almost a year on my daily zx-t. And for some time it was fun but after a few months it becomes old and annoying. Take it from me run a 3'' all the way out the rear of the car with no muffler and its still loud as hell on boost but tolerable to drive daily. My car is pretty mild stock longblock 60mm throttle body, comp cam to4e 50 trim on 8 psi for now and megasquirt ms1 v3. I still return 24-26 mpg and runs 13.s on street tires at 102 mph. I will soon be going to a full 3'' for its long over due. A turbocharger in my county is a legal muffler lol I feel for you guys in cali with emission laws and crap no smog checks here THANKS Ernie fletcher. Bottom line is put the longest free flowing exhaust you can manage and still get the sound you want and can live with everyday. Best of luck!!!!
  10. Im also running the same on my zxt but with a bored stock turbine. Up to around 14 psi it does not do it but 15-16 it will run over 2 psi around peak torque then fall back to its boost controller setting. Im using a homemade ball and spring type. Just tune for the extra boost and enjoy the surge of torque. Thats what i did. : )
  11. Dude all oem pistons are cast and there are alot of guys running n/a bottom ends running 12-16 psi. Get your self a turbo manifold and stock turbo then a megasquirt. Live learn BOOST!!!!

  14. Check out frozenboost.com i have there type 11 intercooler. Everyone ask me about it because it was only 170 bucks and works amazing! I have been running it on my turbo zx for over 2 years with no problems at 15 psi. Everything i got from these guys has been good. My intake air temps dropped 110 degs over the stock j pipe. I would recomend them to anyone on a budget. The end tanks are cast thick with 4 mounting points with helicoils in them. Hell i hit a raccoon with mine it did no damage gotta love bar and plate.   15. How you guys like that? The top bar is very thick walled and the lower two are thinner with i think 1/8th'' plate on the ends if i remember right. This stiffened the rear of my car by a tremendous amount. Feel free to copy this you zx lovers.

  20. This sucks jake but at least you still get to run the cool double plenum anyways. Also still have boost and now we can at least tune the thing with out coal black plugs and a flame thrower exhaust. You gotta get to the show and 2 weeks to tune out the 45mm itb's was not going to happen in that time frame man.
  21. I have had both china one and higher end stuff too and have had mixed results. On my red rocket 280zx project im using a huge RFL rip off from frozenboost.com for the last 2 year and it has never had a hitch and i recall correctly it was only 30ish bucks. Also it sounds very loud but not rice like more roar than chirp. I would recommend anything from there site as thats what i used on my whole build. Just cheaper priced quality parts for us budget builders. Im not affiliated with the site in anyway just trying to help out a fellow z car driver. Save money and enjoy. There intercooler kick you know what also .
  22. okay i ran a 9.1 8th mile at 81 mph on 13.5 psi and 225 street tires on stock turbo wheels. 83 zxt t04e 50 trim 450cc injectors 2 1/2'' dp and no exhaust 1/4 mile was 13.9 at 102 mph lots of wheel spin in 1-2 stock long block with a maxima cam. the t-5 syncros screaming for help crunching into 3-4 stock fpr and pump but duty cycle is at 102% on the dsm injectors ms1 v3 lots of timing car is 2800lbs with me and fuel.
