  2. Yeah. This is the only spot I would use jb weld on... everything else ill use METAL weld. Including my BOV mounting... (I read the thread, no jb weld on my BOV)
  3. Yeah but this looks alot nice and is alot cleaner for getting to the downpipe and rear part of the turbo. I wont be going back to egr so I dont need it reversible.
  4. You had mentioned getting it sandblasted for a textured/rough look. I wanted something similar on a manifold I had planned to use on my turbo engine last summer. I partially shaved the intake and then took it to a sandblaster. I found that the sandblasting did not give much of the textured look I was looking for. If you sandblast the entire intake you will definitely see the difference between the original casting texture, sanded spots, your aluminum plate, etc. (as I did) The best thing to do it just get it all to a similar texture by hand sanding then maybe sandblast.
  5. They must have A) Deleted a thread(s) or B)Moved a bunch of threads into nontech. Maybe it was all of Justin's threads?
  6. Now for the ugliest thing Ive ever made!.... The battery tray! I was poking around and noticed that there wasnt anything to poke.... Pulled out the rust and metal of the remaining tray and welded in my own. It is very very rough, but secure and it fits the battery well. So Im happy. Also picked up the BOV. $10!!! Just need to find a flange to get it mounted. http://www.angelfire.com/mo/JordanG/ They sell a flange with a small section of pipe for $25. Pretty good deal. Also filled the hole near the turbo side of the j pipe. You can see where its ground down. Found the flange and pipe for sale online so Ill hopefully pick that up. Redid the egr cap. Made it out of aluminum plate, and actually did it correct. Looking back I was in a rush to get the intake back on (obviously) and I just didnt make it strong enough, this one will hold great. Picked up a pipe plug to fit the pop off valve too.
  7. Alright little bit more good and bad news... Good news, got the intake off, cleaned it all with my pressure washer. It is perfectly clean, absolutely NO SAND ANYWHERE!!!! Also found the ports were just as clean as before the intake went on. Also doesnt sound like good news but the way I had my pcv lines hooked up it started spewing oil into my intake manifold which helped keep the sand on the walls rather than in the air and into the engine. Ill reroute the lines back to their original spots and that will clean up all the oil. Now the bad news. Turns out glass packs are a big no no on turbo engines.... Looks like jeffer949 along with a few others had very similar setups and actually found their car slower!! Ahh, itll be ok for now but it will be coming off as soon as the engine running good.
  8. Well I learn something every day... I guess itll be ok for now until I get it running right then Ill just strait pipe it.
  9. There have been a few saves like that. I remember seeing one where the guy goes over the front wind screen but still saves it.. True talent or lots of luck! Maybe a little of both.
  10. Are say 30+ mm cannons qualified as .243 or larger?
  11. I definitely would have considered this if they had it a couple years ago... Its not much more than MSAs urethane airdam.
  12. Ummm, what kind of car??? What kind of engine? You apparently posted this in the RB and SBC sections. Makes a difference.
  13. As a english teacher at my high school said, (no joke), "A manual transmission isnt an extension of a mans penis.." :lmao:
  14. This guys a few hours from me... When I finish up college Id like to get a honda 600, I rode 250 4 stroke (crf250r) dirt bikes and I think Id get tired of a 250 on the street... but Ive never gotten to ride a street bike so my logic may be flawed.
  15. Awesome, and I was complaining about $1.50/shot for my 300 savage...
  16. Stock downpipe? So would you expect similar gains by simply removing most of the exhaust and installing a glasspack? aka this.... I assume if its the stock dowpipe you basically made from the downpipe back?
  17. If you think about it there are only 2 wires on the coil. The ignitor is seperate so in theory any coil that has the same wire style ( + and - ) should work. Correct?
  18. Yeah I havent been able to get any pictures since my car is up on jackstands in the garage. Although I assure you 2+2s look awesome if you think about how your modifying your car. Take a look at jay28's car for inspiration. Its basically the exact same color as mine, we both have black trim, but I dont have ZG flares, and I have black wheels.
  19. Yeah might check that once I get it back together.
  20. If this is an s30 I believe there have been other people with the same problem. I believe 2003z had the same problem with a lower rear end after installing lowering springs.
  21. Probably the auto. Id be more concerned with missing a shift or stalling the car then being a little bit faster through the "chaotic conditions". I doubt the performace advantage of a manual would make much of a difference in you getting away or not. It all comes down to if you go onto a highway that isnt finished or get sideswiped by a tanker truck.
