As Ive worked on the suspension amongst other things Ive found its super hard to get room to work under my car. I have all of my jack stands on the frame rails right in front of the front control arms and right behind the rear control arms but Im only left with like 1.5ft of room under the car. Ive got a pretty big set of jack stands (~2ft) but it seems like the jack points are just way to high on the car.
So question is, how high can you guys usually get your car up to? Also is a jack stand larger than about 2 ft really safe? I imagine youd need a pretty large base to keep it stable. My other idea was to just get some thick wood squares to put under each stand, thats probably my best bet. (just need to find a foot thick board...)
Any info is appreciated. And no comments on getting a 4 post lift or building some huge ramps.
Do you have a stock fpr to swap out? Might try it just in case.
Also have you checked the ecu connections? Might get lucky and thats the problem.
Also your boost level seems about right. .4 bar is about 6 psi.
Going to jail is just sucking more money from society, something their trying to punish him for...
I dont know if this is true but someone told me in China when someone is executed the family is billed for the bullet..
I had a blowout on the top of number 6. This was using the gasket I got from shucks. I assume their fel-pros?
Have you made sure all of the spacer/washers are tight?
Haha, thats like the third time!!! I think he really liked HBZ.
Anyways on subject. I think the rules kind of suck, Id love to see an all out racing series where you are basically limited to a set of rough guidelines. I really want to see the absolute best man can make.
From what I found out dont get a glass pack. Several people on the board actually thought it made their car slower because of the louvered design.
Currently I have a t3-stock downpipe-glasspack and it isnt quiet but is pretty mellow. You can always here the turbo spool and there is a drone which has increased now that the interior is out. I was actually really suprised since my 78 has about the same or more exhaust on the car and it is LOUD. As mentioned the t3 is your best muffler.
I have yet to try it on my hobart but from what Ive read here you can do it with different wire, gun and gas. Cant provide any more specifics but you might try googling "welding aluminum with a mig."
Definitely possible to do. I actually had the spindle pins still in with the struts pointing out sideways from the car. Might just take a little leverage to get the control arm down enough for the tops of the struts to clear the fender.
Also be sure to lift the car up plently.
Hmm. Id look into how much people spend from say rebello or sunbelt on a 350 hp engine compared to say the average member here running an l28et. Im also going to have to disagree with EFI being alot more expensive than a nice set of triples... I see most triples going in the $1000 range, Ive seen alot of people building megasquirt for less than that.
Yeah alot of people have a bad incident with a cop and then think every cop is a dick. I have met alot of cops that are really cool. Super laid back, down to earth and just nice people. Dont make generalizations.
Yeah, I know a guy in town and he said he was at 18psi with alot of bandaid fixes, rrfpr, larger injectors, messing with the afm/head temp sensor, etc. He said it "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fast till it blew."
Well what kind of body style? Most wont affect the wheel size, so whatever fits a stock ZX. Lastly, you should not be swapping motors if you dont even have the tools to work on the car... not sure if youll be paying for all the work to be done but you might want to reconsider your options/goals.
BTW, welcome to HBZ. Also dont take my post as me being an a$$ just wanting to be strait forward.
The haynes isnt really helpful for this. I was having a hard time first time I did this and I looked in all 3 of my z/zx manuals and just found, remove bolts (visible ones on top) pull intake off. It wasnt that easy...
