  4. take the spark plugs off and add a cap and a half full of miracle oil to EACH spark plug hole. its a red bottle you can purchase at an auto store. does work on safely lubricating rings and cylinders for cars who have been sitting for a while.. take the valve cover off (if you want) add about a quart of the thinnest oil you can find) and let it drain down throw the engine.... get access to the crank bolt. by removing radiator and fan. and crank the engine with a 1/2 breaker bar. try to get the engine moving. itl make things a lot easier in the long run IF you don't want to rebuild your engine right away. i got my 83 l28et (turb0 ) motor running ON the car that was sitting 12 years. of coarse i added new spark plugs, new coolant, new intake filter, oil filter, gas filter, let it run for 20 minutes till it got nice and hot. and purged all the fluids out. and added new ones. JUST TO GET EVERYTHING CLEANED OUT. any whojust some advice
  5. would that drive shaft work with a 87-89 Z31 Clutch lsd ? thats the one ill most likely throw into the 240z. if it does work il get the automatic shaft from da zx.
  6. +5000000 lol i have everything needed ( i think ) for a swap. but then again i wouldnt know since i cant find a HOW TO a write up of the stock -> stock swap. just running everything stock onto the 240z. once made i think peole would a preshiate it if it was STICKY'ed out. and im sure i speak for many people wanting or planning in the future doing an l28et swap
  7. well jsut got my turbo motor running on the donor ZXT i got. now il need a 240z with no motor and tranny. or one with everything for dirty dirt cheap . CLEAN TITLE, and hopefully tags havent gone out long ago. located in 91911 San diego CA
  8. word to he wise from experience start from the easy things and cheap things to fix thing first. i learned the hard way on my zxT project i just started. i even have a thread about it asking for help. except mine wouldn't start PERIOD. (turned out i had 4 bad injectors) start off by making sure theres even GAS going into the injectors(maybe ur only running a few) move into checking if gas even comes OUT of the injectors. then spark then timing. then vacuum leaks. since lines are difficult to get right without a 280zx haynes if all else fails buy it off ebay
  9. Wow in all honesty i had NO CLUE we had this many S30 drivers in San Diego :/ i just went to qualcom and lemon grove and ive seen like 5 of them this week. which is a lot more than i had ever seen in the past 5 years.
  10. will do man. yeah the car starts up and idles and all. but when he gives it gas the response its harsh it stumbles and youc an definetly tell it cant burn up all the gas like its choking bad. then it picks up hard. after i put the z31 T injectors on it the response is QUICK! it picks up amazing on the donor ZXT. very pleased with the idle too. just need to bleed all the lines and keep purging the water from the radiator since alot of rusty water comes out. question! how do you know if the car is running LEAN ? what symptoms are there?
  11. cause you never know when you're gonna need spares.. PLUS! my cousins 240z turbo (l28et) has TOO big of injectors and it floods when he steps on it hard. so he might downgrade to these injectors since his car is almost stock xept for some mods. thought ahead of the curve
  12. ahhhhh DARKNESSSSSS!!!!!!! i got the turtle started today! threw on all 12 new 84 Z31 turbo injectors i got from ecology for the OUTRAGEOUS price of $2 (ohh and may i add that the cars i got them from had literally NEW! emissions everything..... must've had problems with smog and owner replaced everything under the hood lmao) , and cranked that soulja turtle and started (with the help of some starting spray) at the begging. idled smooooth as a baby butt. no smoke whatsoever. NEXT STEP. bleed all the fluid lines or whatever. water & oil changed after a few more days of running the engine. i got a video of it but idk how to load it up.
  13. this is interesting i did not know this. from what year of the zxT and up did the T5 tranny need this special oil ? and what is the BEST oil that anyone can recommend me putting in the tranny given my donor zxT is either an 82 or 83. if im correct. yeah the driveshaft il most likely buy it from vildiny motorsports or AZ since ive heard they carry the right one needed for the T5 on S30. shotened one. any info on what clutch lsd would be good for my s30 ? wich 1, from what car, and what changes will i need to do to the S30 240z (if any ) to fit that particular lsd
  14. between us T5 and zx turtle owners. what diff woudl you guys recomend me getting ? R200 from 200sx TURBO stock 83 zx-t diff ? ? ? would it bolt on easily into the 240z ? just thinking maybe the shafts might be different no ? if not thats sweet. what diff mount should be used btw ? sorry guys im stuck at work for a few more hours so i cant really do much search as i "cheat" once in a while and get on the forums to check my subscription updates. lets keep up the good work guys
  15. lol seems like thats the " IN " thing to do nowadays eh ... 72's with l28 turtle and T5-s , my problem probably will be finding a suitable LSD for it. i dont think i want an Vlsd from what i've read. so im thinking a Clsd that i can find kinda affordable. (no intention of threadjack) but ANY SUGGESTIONS ? seeing as we guys are thinking of doing the same thang
  16. hopefully some peeps can answer his T-5 questions as i am incredible close to his story. except i got the whole ZXT car to start the engine in. BEFORE the swap..... id want to throw the T5 into the 72 so Q's # 1-4 relate to me SUSCRIBED!
  17. yeup just to be safe tough aftet a bit of research i think im going to head out to the local junkyard for some Z31 Turbo injectors. if you ask me they SHOULD be newer and in better shape. but then again il make sure i check the car's condition first etc etc. hopefulyl these put out at least a little bit MORE gas than the 280zx's CC's slight power gain perhaps but i think they're the same injectors. hopefulyl this fixes this mess and can get this engine runnin on the donor ZX to later transplant it after a few engine mods to a 72 Z il keep you guys posted
  18. how much pressure should the fuel pump be putting out ? or where do i hook up the FP gauge ? Newsflash #2.... well the car seems to be able to stay on for like 1.5 or 2 seconds with starting fluid however it still kind of wants to start by itself but it DOES'NT. so i narrowed it down to GAS issues. i got the battery back and threw it on. i removed the fuel rail and injectors and layed it ontop of the engine and plugged the fuel lines and cranked it. to my surprize only injector #6 spits gas. im not sure if its supposed to spit ALOT or not but it seemed kind of a weak sauce spray to me. but it spits none the less. as for injectors 1-5 NOTHING. all 6 injector clips have power so they should be spitting gas if the injectors were good RIGHT ? :/ or what else could it be given the information i've provided. anyone know what replacement injectors are good that will fit STOCK? will NA zx injectors do the job good ? as there are plenty of those in junkyards.

NEWSFLASH! today i went at it again. i plugged up the ZX's ecu on the 240z turtle and it started (with some trouble at first since im sure the ecu needed to reset) but it started nonetheless so by that the ECU WORKS. so to be scratch ECU off the list of possibility error. i plugged the 100% working 240z turbo ecu on the ZX adding to the list i got a ground cable and bridged the block to the chassis. (literally) so the ground has to be good now. i sprayed some starting fluid and the sucker wanted to turn on. it really did for about 2 seconds. but im sure it was just the starting fluid doing its thang. i checked the spark plugs after a few trial and errors. and about 3 seemed to have some burn in them yet the other 3 seemed ALOT cleaner as in. NEW..... so im thinking no gas is going in those. i cleaned the injector connections with sandpaper and screwdriver to clean terminals. and with a test light checked the clips if they had power and all lines have power. i connected injector clips back on and its ready to try again. and i clipped i got the timing to a spot where it almost wants to turn on by itself sometimes. but with help of starting fluid. right now im waiting for the battery to get charged up again at KRAGEN since the battery is low it doesn't turn the engine no more. If it doesn't want to start after the injector conection clean up and some of the other ♥♥♥♥ i tested. then im pulling off the injectors and rail and checking if they spray outside of the car.
  20. no no no of coarse obviously i tested it with battery. DUH! lol this is just a picture of the engine after a few mods when we got the car.. like removal if injector fan cooler. and all these other things that got in the way that wont be necessary for the powerplant transplant into the 72 Z like the wiper containers and lines. AC lines ETC ETC ETc BTW i got ZX parts if anyone wants to buy any or neesd any MAKE ANY OFFER as for the grounding in the car. i will add a custom ground from block to strut tower just incase and to be sure. the mass air flow was installed correctly as it was in the reference 240z L28ET powered Z we got. and still no luck. the timing is located almost if not exactly where the reference Z is on so if at all it should TRY to make it seem like it wants to turn on. but nothing either. how can i make sure the ground terminals from the injectors are grounded right ? both wires on the injectors seem to have power (according to the test light) THANKS a bunch for the help so far guys youre guiding me to the right direction.

So me and my cousin are trying to get this puppy started. the engine cranks good and smooth. : however it doesn't seem to want to turn on and if anyone has any experience with these your help would be greatly appreciated. we have replaced all of the vacuum hoses with new ones. replaced cooling fluid replaced cooling/water hoses the mass airflow sensor works. (put in the one from my cousins RUNNING l28et (Stock) ) hot wired a STOCK 280zx fuel pump (and it works and pumps gas) new ngk spark plugs. there is definitely spark going to all sparkplugs (tested) firing order is correct ( referred to my cousins L28et and compression checked) there is FUEL there is power to the injectors it seems like everything is as it should be to start up. we've reached a screeching halt after replacing alot of crap and wonder whats wrong with it. so i came to the forums to get help since the engine will most likely be put in a 72 z i get in the nearby future. so i want to get it running please HELP me get this TURTLE back to life

Now we're speaking the same language here, true that is!. you're right i just thought it would be lbeter to throw in the PS. since on the Z when i would hit a small hole or go over a crack on the street or speed bump in a moderate or slow speed the steering wheel would jerk to one side or the other and if my finger was in between the metal of the steering wheel in a say GRANT GT. it would hit my finger as it turned by itself real quick and hurt pretty bad. and with my S13 i don't have that issue i figured the PS prevented that or something :/ i guess its a negative for the PS. anybody have any clues what suspension parts i can throw in my S30 from the turtle ZX ? ontrol arms and strut assembly ? shafts ? tie rods ? thanks so far guys. im sure other peeps will come across this thread with the same issues or ideas as me and get some positive feedback thanks to you guys.
  24. sweet thanks for the heads up. but i wonder if i can use the ZX steering and suspension on the 72. steering rack, control arms .etc etc, to all around upgrade the suspension and suspension .steering of the 72. i looked around searching on zdriver.com and on this page but no luck finding wether or not i can bolt on or WHAT i can fit into the S30 from the donor ZXT. thanx guys if you know or have some answers plz dont be a dick and say " SEARCH" just want help if you cant help STFU. i did my search and reached a screeching halt. tahts why im asking for help p.s sorry for da rant haha
