  1. Think ZCCJDM is expensive? Imagine the original Arita Speed kit with a Real G-Nose....But it does look damn cool, especially in Black
  2. Sweet! Another running Z on the road. Update us with what's going on with your ride once you start working on it. Take the 1J from your FC and put it into the Z .
  3. Unfortunately, I don't think they are available yet. Carbon fiber door panels are available from another member here on HybridZ.
  4. Welcome to HybridZ. I've seen your FC on craiglist...Looks nice . good luck with your Z. Any plans for the beauty yet?
  5. Hope this helps you out, It's my 1975 280Z
  6. Here you go, Component Finishing (408) 988 6233 800 Aldo Ave. Santa Clara, CA 95054 The manager is a cool guy. I originally wanted to have some stuff powder coated here but went to Wheel Techniques (SIK Industry) instead as they were cheaper and they did chroming as well as powder coating. Componenet Finishing does sand blasting as well or he's lying to me on his business card lol. Forgot to mention, this place is like on the border line of San Jose/Santa Clara
  7. Microsoft has gotten smart about these "special" version...Update while using a "special" version and KABLAMO.
  8. I just recently purchased 1972 240Z doors for my 75 280Z. To my understanding from "Gmoney's S-30 Door Interchange", BRAAP stated This door should fit and the only difference should be internally. My question is will I need to replace the striker in order to get the door to fit properly or can I just bolt up and go? From the pictures, I can't really tell if the striker on the 240Z (orange) has been damage or if it's just different from the 280Z (white). Hinges appears to be the same which shouldn't cause any problems? Any help on getting these doors to fit would greatful. I know 77 280Z doors will not fit on a 75 280Z (trial and error is the way I found out). Below is the link to the posting I'm referring to for your reference. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=148261 Thanks
  9. I'm 27 now, but had my Z since I was 24/25. I've always loved the Z looks and style. I was driving a couple of cars at the time before my Z (1995 SC300 5SPD, 1989 MR2). The MR2 I crashed on my way home from work. With that being said, I was having some problems with my SC300 at the time and decided it's time to get another DD. My friend has a 1975 Toyota Celica with side draft carbs, cams, exhaust and custom suspsenion which pushed me even harder to buy a Z. It's not fast but it sure can handle and sounds mean as hell. I used him as motivation for me to get a classic and make it faster than his. After searching for a couple of months, my car popped up on craigslit. The owner was asking $2,500 for the car. After talking with the owner trying to find out some info about the car and if there has been any interest. I find out a few things, first thing is the car is "kinda sold" buyer said he would buy it but never came back to pay for the car. Second thing is a lot of people have been looking at the car, some people have been back a few times to talk with him and check out the car. I ask him if it's alright if I come by to check it out and he says sure, but like I said, it's kinda sold. I come by look at, take it for a test drive and then talk with him. I completely low ball him for the car 1K "CASH Right Now" I pull the stack of 20s and 100s out of my pocket and spread it apart to show him the money. he hesitates for a minute, and then we talk some more (Now he knows I'm serious and I got him thinking). I find out that the buyer who didn't come back was going to buy it for $1,500. He tells me, "If you'll pay me the same price I agreed with this other guy, I'll sell you the car." I pause to think....(thinking to myself...I have 1K on me..I get paid in 3 days and I'll be able to cover the rest I hope by then)Then I reply, okay but I need to come back at the end of the week to pay you the rest. I'll give you 1K now and the other later. He tells me just hold onto it till you have the full amount. 2 Days before I the day I pick up my car, I get a phone call from him. "Are you seriously interested? I have another guy who will pay me 2.5K for the car" I tell him "I'm dead serious. I have 1K on me and get paid tomorrow. I can get you the money but it won't be till around 11PM~12AM whenever I get off of work." He tells me, "I can get more money if I just sell this car to the other guy" I reply in a depressed voice "Yea...sorry I can't offer you that much, I just can't afford it." He then tells me, "Look, since I said I was going to sell it to you, I'll hold the car for you...BUT YOU BETTER NOT FLAKE ON ME!!!" on the day I'm getting all the money ready and arranging a ride to pick up the car, I get another call from him "Remember the guy I told you I was suppose to sell the car to but never came back to give me the money? Well, he just called and told me that he now has all the money and he'll give me 2K instead of the 1,500 for making me wait" I think to myself, I can be a jerk and say "You told me you were going to sell it to me, SO YOU BETTER SELL IT TO ME!" but I decide not to because he didn't sell the car to the other guy and lost some money. I tell him that it's up to him, I understand that this guy was suppose to be the guy that it was going to be sold to but he just never followed up on what happend. I tell him let me know what you decide on doing and I wasn't going to be mad or anything. 20 minutes later I get a call back from him. "I told the other guy the car was already sold and it was no longer available. When are you picking up the car?" I reply "See you in an hour" That's how I got my car, immediately after I bought the Z I joined HybridZ. I ran into some financial problems down the road and have sold the SC300. That's right, I chose to keep my Z over my SC300. One day I'll probably get another SC again. I regret selling it..I should of became a gigolo for some side money instead j/k. Sorry for all the babbling...This threads sure does bring back some memories
  10. Okay here is my situation, I'm thinking of buying some doors from the east coast. The problem is I live on the west coast so these doors need to be shipped to me. Unfortunately, I don't know jack squat about shipping these doors. The seller has limited knowledge about shipping something this big. We need some guidance on going about doing so and I decided to turn to HybridZ because I'm sure someone here has done this before or something similar. How would we go about getting the doors ship? How would you package them? Which company is the best to use and the most affordable? Any information would be deeply appreciated or additional tips and guidance. So far, we have been thinking Greyhound. Each door will need to be package individually but this might work out best for us. I thank you ahead for all the help that you will be giving me.
  11. Justin (Zforce) has this available I believe. The best way would be to go on his site and contact him about it. He is currently no longer a member here at HybridZ. His site addy is below. http://www.zforceproductions.com/forums/index.php The style this was copied from is the Arita Speed S130...Arita Speed also did some stuff for the S30 chassis as well
  12. Here you go. Cusco Strut Bar with the stock intake mani. the car is a 73 240Z though, but it should be the same. MSA sells an exact copy but in carbon fiber if you want. Hope this helps...As a lot of people have previously stated, the stock manifold is the main issue.
  13. 1. When I bought the car, it had a wooden spoiler cut in the shape of the BRE spoiler and tried to paint it to match the car about a 1/2" thick all around either glued to the hatch or rivited to it (I think both). It was not sanded smooth or anything..just cut and then pasted it on there. 2. A broken shift knob that always popped off of the shifter over bumps or when I shift sometimes (the shifter ate the wood on the knob and filled the gaps on the threads) 3. Inside the CD player was Back Street Boys....Yes, you read right, Back Street Boys...I thought to myself "Are you F**KING serious?" It wasn't in there when I test drove the car. 4. A "new" alternator (it died the first week I had the car). 5. My left and right side markers face the opposite directions, they still do lol I'll fix it once I get my car back but i get the feeling all my side markers are LEFT side markers. 6. Reversed the left and right front turn signals so that they were in the wrong place and facing the wrong direction 7. For my overflow resevoir, it was a Antifreeze bottle (would of preferred a mini Heineken keg as the resevoir instead). 8. A garden hose as one of by pass hose for the engine. 9. Some cheapo steering wheel that the screws kept coming off every day and was super flimsy 10. 2 Bungee cord as the battery tie down he was missing the both battery holders top and bottom That's about all I can think of. I think #3 is the worst of them all....
  14. Exactly what I was told and shown as well from my friend...I thought my door locks were broken too when I first bought the car because I couldn't lock them when they're open. Found out that the factory set them up like that...So, our doors aren't broken it's just the way they were designed. We're spoiled from newer cars with power everything and locks.
  15. I now know another Z in San Jose . I know your friend Dave...Well, my friend works with Dave (that's how I know him). I stopped by Dave's on Thursday to give him my spoiler because I have no use for it. We talked about your car for a bit and other people's cars while he was working on his lighting issue. He was hoping to go out to that meet at Starbuck in Santa Clara but I think he never went because he couldn't get his back lights to work. For $300 bucks I think that is not a bad find at all. Dave told me he picked his up for $700 and it's his 5th one. When Dave started up his car it really made me miss mine....Damn devil has been in the shop for a while. We should all meet up and go for a drive once I get my car back and you get your DL and insurance. Here's where to get brackets for a 240Z-260Z bumper mod http://www.zccjdm.com/ (Also a member on here) For car insurance, I use Mercury because of the following 1. The oldest car they'll insure is 1975 (yay, we meet the cut off) 2. The best price I have found PERIOD Just to gives you a heads up, your probably going to get a lot of crap talk from friends and family about your ride. Just know that it's your ride, your worked hard to get it and where you'll be taking this project too. This is your car a lot of work will be put in and IT WILL BE PAID OFF IN THE END. In the end, you may be the first out of all your friends to complete a project and they'll be coming to you for help. Once it's fixed up, they will be going from "That thing sux" to "Give me a ride....or Let me drive it" I put up with a lot since I had my Z...But I never lost my motivation or will to finish it up. I've gotten close at times because of all the smack talk and even see some people give up, but now I use all that for motivation. Once I do get my car back I'll let the Z do the smack talk while I watch . Wish you the best of luck on your project.
  16. Any news about these being available in carbon fiber? Just curious as it was brought up previously, but I wasn't too sure if you were going have them available in carbon fiber.
  17. "The suggestion of a 'group buy' to help get the project get going will not be necessary, but we do intend on initially offering members of HybridZ a special discounted rate once them become available, as a way of saying thank you for your patience." As stated by grndfx, it's not necessary but he does plan to initially offer us HybridZ members discounts once they're available.
  18. The easiest way would be to have a company do the harness for you. If you are purchasing the engine and tranny combo from a company, they will provide you with the harness, engine, tranny and ECU. From there you can take your harness and the RB harness to a shop and they'll do it for you if they know how. Another alternative would be to run a stand alone engine management. the 200ZR harness might be hard to come by but it might be a direct swap. I'm not sure if it is or not as I do not anything about the 200ZR besides the fact that I'm using the same rear sump oil pan. IMO it's really important that who ever does your harness has done this swap before. Saving some money by getting your harness done by a shop with no experience in this field may end up costing you more money and time because they are more prone to do it incorrectly due to the lack of experience. Good luck, hopes this helps
  19. The hood vents are NLA. You can find the info below in the link. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=148739 It's been discussed. We are currently waiting for the production of the vents to kick back in. Hopefully a CF version will be available once this gets made again.
  20. I'm interested in this CF Console. What it really comes down to is how it will be set up. I know some of us here want the double din while others want a single din. Also, you'll notice that the manufacturer will have to custom make the single and double din as the original doesn't have any provisions for both the single and double din. Also, will the dash have a arm rest? Will all the OEM switches be covered? Will the OEM switches still be able to be attached? I know the OEM console that are being sold comes with the arm rest attached. I guess before we can proceed any futher, you'll need the full count first...I'm seriously interested in this console as I can use a new console. Add me to the list
  21. Not to sound like a jerk, but you need to use the search function. Brackets are available through a member here who also has other S30 parts available that you'll be interested in. There are a lot of pictures here as well if you use the search function too. Trying to save you from getting flamed here. Search first and if nothing comes up then post. This way a lot of us here don't have to repeat something that has been discussed over and over year after year. Here is the link for the brackets you'll need http://www.zccjdm.com/catalog.php/azcarbum/pg9887 you can search for azcarbum's post as he discussed and showed how his brackets work. Good luck and have fun with your Z
  22. I wished they got back to us so we know an exact pricing on the kit. Some of us may be seriously interested. I would like to see more pics of the full kit on the car as well. The rear looks nice and I want to see what the whole car looks like with the kit. I already got a MSA type 3 full kit that I might end up selling depending on how this kit fully looks and the pricing of it as well. Although I got a 75 280Z, I will probably have to have the kit altered slightly because of the turn signal location (I can just stick in 240Z turn signals as an alternative). $396 for fronts $120 for rears I think it's also missing the side skirts as the bottom of the front fenders suggest that there is another piece. Let's hope they get back to us with pricing and then I can ask about shipping to the US Chartoo, did you get the kit? Is that your car? If so, post more pics with the fronts and rears on the car for us to see please .
  23. anyone contacted the manufacturer regarding price on the kit? I sent them an email but haven't got a response.
  24. Video has been removed...but I think it was the one of the Z Best Motoring video to commemorate the Z...Also, BurnoutZ has somthing similar to the same Spirit Garage. Well, I've only seen some pics of his front looks nice (looks like he's using the same style flares with the MSA type 3 front.) or at least I think it does. Hopefully he'll chime in and show us some pics. I've been waiting to see how his Z turn out. If you're reading this BurnoutZ please post up pics of your car. I want to see what it looks like at all angles. His car has given me some great ideas and refreshed my mind.
  25. I Wished I owned this Z..By far one of the most GANGSTER Z I have ever seen. I'll trade my soul for this car. Spirit Garage S30 http://s-garage.hp.infoseek.co.jp/s30z.htm
