  1. I hooked up my new predator today and it says my #2 bank is running too lean.. How do I fix this? I have to have my ECM reflashed so that I can use the predator but what would cause a lean condition on one bank, and I assume this means one side of the injectors? Mike
  2. Yeah, I'll get some vids up when I can get a little help holding the camera.
  3. Oh, and I'd really like to see some pic's of the Camaro steering column. How does it fit?
  4. I don't know if this will help or not but on the LS2, the power to the coils comes in to a plug near the MAF plug. In the stock car it routes around the front of the car with the light harness and then from the front near the radiator. I would not have known when wiring mine up except for MAS280. He has lots of experience with the LS1's too, you might PM him. Mike
  5. The weather here has cleared up some this week. Its still cold but clear and dry. So I've been out driving the new/old Z. I can't believe how much easier, better this car is to drive around town. I think after the old cammed up dual carbed L6 with the stiff clutch, this thing is just amazing. Fuel injection, softer clutch that is much easier to modulate smoothly, mountains of torque, and less weight on the front wheels (I think, haven't made it back to the scales yet) have just made it easier to drive around town. And when you do get some open road, it still makes me giggle. Spun the tires in 3rd on the freeway today at about 60. Oh what a feeling! Thanks again for all the Hybrid Z help. Mike
  6. Large hose (the one closest to the front of the car) on water pump is out. I found this in the helms manual somewhere. the heater core in is the one closest to the center of the car. I saw this in the z manual somewhere. Also was just at a shop where they were putting new hoses on and the hoses were marked with arrows for flow direction. Mike
  7. Yep, you need the 98-02 camaro or firebird pan, along with the pickup tube, windage tray and dipstick and tube. Mike
  8. I just checked- that's faster than any cars in Road and Tracks summary except the Panoz LMP-1 roadster ($680,000) and the Porsche GT1 ($1,000,000). That should make you feel pretty good about what you spent! Mike
  9. So what was your best time? And what's the deal with the tach? I saw Mike's 10.85, looks like he was launching harder. Looks like a whole lot more fun than sitting inside watching the world turn white. Mike
  10. WERE WAITING.....Nice job Sergio, can't wait to see the Vid's. I stayed up late last night hoping you guys might get some up after a day at the track. Mike PS Its snowing here again, argh.
  11. Trying again to get this right. http://videos.streetfire.net/search/280Z+ls2/0/wm/510ab5c5-9032-4a8a-936f-98af01263d96.htm Mike
  12. Ok, on the second link I get sound. This one- http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...af01263d96.htm
  13. Wow! great job and congrats. I can only hope for someday! Mike
  14. Ulises inspired me to do a walkaround too, but for some reason I get no sound on streetfire. Nice dash huh? Mike I just found out if you check on "switch to windows media player" you can acually hear my car. http://videos.streetfire.net/search/280Z+ls2/0/510ab5c5-9032-4a8a-936f-98af01263d96.htm try this link instead http://videos.streetfire.net/search/280Z+ls2/0/wm/510ab5c5-9032-4a8a-936f-98af01263d96.htm
  15. Boy Pop, that thing is nice looking. You did a great job on that cross member. Mike
  16. Yes, the tach was working, and it is a 280 tach. I really wanted to keep the stock guages, just my preferance. The speedo converter works great though and was easy to hook up and calibrate. I just don't know if the tach signal out of the ECM will trigger the tach. Ulises had the same problem with the autometer tach, he had to hook it up to a coil I believe. There has to be a way.... My tach is back at JCI right now. I'll have to see what they say. Mike
  17. Speedo issue solved, thanks to Mas280, and Abbott Enterprises. The Cable X box works great and was easy to calibrate. I placed it in the drivers side where the old Z computer used to reside. Its silent and not at all jumpy. Now, if I only had a tach.....
  18. Ah, canook. I'm in Meridian, just out of Boise. Mine is also a 78. If you don't get the diagrams you need, let me know. I have a factory 78 manual, but it is pretty well used. They are still available through the dealers I think, don't know how much $. Once in a while one will turn up on Ebay. I do have one on CD I bought from one of the guys on this site. You can have it if you want. PM me with your street address if you do. Mike
  19. Looks good to me. sorry I didn't get any pics to you, I came down with a nasty cold and haven't worked on the car for a few days. Mike
  20. Medley, First, great to have another hybrid project in Idaho. Second, are you sure the 88 engine doesn't have throttle body injection? All of the 88's I am aware of do. Mike
