  1. Im somewhat in this same boat. The Z has been sitting for 8 months now and although I have been working on it. It makes me depressed to see it sit and yet I find it hard to make the time to work on it. Now the deal is Im a full time auto tech and do alot of side work at the sametime. To the point of being burnt out on just working on cars in all. But I have a plan and that is the key! When I bought the car in late May, I was going to do everything at once. Now I have decided to Repair the rust in the firewall and batt tray(That has been done), and get the VQ swap running. Then drive it for awhile! I plan on doing brakes and suspention and body work but not now. I found its easier to work on something that is driveable for a week or two than to stare at a car in the corner. Id say get a nice DD and make small projects on the Z and enjoy it!
  2. For all the people that doubt Hyundai, just drive one. Thats all I have to say.
  3. Its still a 4b11 the crank will drop in. The world motor (4b11) comes in a handfull of displacments 1.6, 1.8, 2.0, and 2.4 but only the turbo motors have piston oilers, friction coatings, forged internals, dual MIVEC(Mitsu) or CVVT(Hyundai), Different heads and coolant layouts along with other minor differences.
  4. Thier cars are very nice now, Ive been working for Hyundai/Mitsubishi for sometime now and Hyundai is on par with BMW/Lexus anyday of the week!
  5. The 4b11 is not the evo motor. Its more like the Ralliart 4b11 the specs are close but not the same. The gen coupe only gets a single scroll turbo along with less agressive tuning. If my car sells soon I'll be ordering a 2.0 track.
  6. I just picked up a PC680 too, oh well let me know how the Braille works out.
  7. We have made fire!!! Had fun yesterday getting that thing started. Geoff or Cletus as you have dubbed him had a good laugh last night after seeing his new name.
  8. The new atoms use the K20 from the RSX type-S. If he got the plans to build it thats why he used it.
  9. Were all just using the NATS system, just makes it easier to make the car run.
  10. I agree with Austin 100% unless youre going for 450+ HP, pistons and rods are all thats needed.
  11. www.projectzerog.com will have all the RWD 4g info you need. I was going this route but bought a totaled 06' 350Z for less than the trans/flywheel/clutch setup would have cost me.
  12. Alway thought the bathroom at chickfila smelt funny, haha!!
  13. That would go great with my bagged Altima!!!
  14. Remind me to hug you next time I see you!
  15. I know its too late now but couldnt you use long studs in the manifold to prevent the need for nuts on the adapter. After the broken stud was drilled and retapped. Great work by the way!!
  16. No gear + low side? Looks like it hurt pretty good man!
  17. Great write up, ive got a set of these waiting to go on my FG hood.
  18. A return line and FPR is needed at the rail for consistant fuel pressure. For this reason alot of the 350z/g35 guys are running return systems for higher hp apps.
  19. Never saw it, but I love it!
  20. Merry christmas!!! Got some sweet Z swag from the ol lady post up pics soon!
  21. I Have 2 now, but had 4 at once and five though out my life.
  22. Hey Austin, could you measure from the tail shaft the the top of the tunnel. Until I get youre shifter I wont know how much room I need to clear it. Im trying to get the engine in the car for mock up soon. Thanks!
