Ok heres the low down... i have a 2002 protege my dad and i have that has a blown tranny... its goin to cost 2500+ my mom is goin to give me 3k for eather a down paymet or to fix the mazda... i really do not like the mazda because it really doesnt have any pirks. I want a truck to tow my car and to take tires and what not to events... so my question should i spend my 3k to basicly fix my mazda that has no warentee or go after a truck from carmax or a dealer that has a warentee for parts and what not that can do what i need and still take me to school.... and do any of u own ford rangers tacomas frontiers any input would be great help... big thing is school but the other thing like the truck is what i WANT lol some times beggers cant be choosers...
She ran GREAT! for about a day.... then i stalled it on a steep hill and it wouldnt start again... all power gone... so i found out my battery's cells were bad got a new battery... then she ran like a champ till about an hr in to the drive... she back fired and poped for a good 30min.... thats when i knew something was wrong... it kept getting worse so i just stoped (never know) then when i came back to it she started right up with no problems... she still sputtered but not as bad... as i was comming close to home she was puttering agian... she was doing all the way home but was gettin worse.... then magicly better... at the end the car dies right infront of my house, and when i mean die i mean all shut off..... out of no where.... then when my dad gave me a tap to get in the gradge all the stuff came back on... like nothing happened.... so any ideas?

major mod. = fail.... its quite simple... ive put them in v-8 7's, mulitple 240sx's and stock rx-7's it takes a lil cuttin and a lil addapting nothing you cant figure out...

in my 76 i think i have found out why it is not running 100% i believe that the fuel tank is full of crap!.... and here in town to clean it is around 250+ for an actuall good job.... and i was thinking since it would cost me around 300+ for everything why not just get a fuel cell..... my question is... can i run a fuel cell with my su's can i use my fuel pump that i have right now... and how would you do the plumbing for the fuel lines.... like could i use the original metal fuel lines? And is the install hard?
Ok just did the su swap on my 280z.... they ran GREAT! but now... latley they die out.... only around 4k+ they start dyin... when we put in the fuel pump the fuel hose was slightly craked but did not leakin.... but now when i do some hard driving in the higher rpms for more then a min or so they die out and the tone for the z changes as well.... so my theory is that the slight cracks are sucking air in and killin the carbs... what do u guys think?
no chokes.... fuel pressure was a BIG PROBLEM! but that was solved.... and yea.... i was thinkin maybe i should do a write up and all parts that i used and things i did to bypass things and what not... good idea or not?
Su's are on and running GREAT! i put 89 octane in felt good... goin to my friends place tomorrow to do timing and thats it.... the carbs are on and GREAT! same with the coated and wraped 6-1 =)
dude what part of vegas u in? i got a 76 and i did a turbo swap for a 73, and im now converting my car to su's..... man id love to see this thing in person... and..... i know alot of the SRT-4 guys... lol....
ok yea because i know a guy that has the air box just havent gotten to get ahold of him... but i need the car runnin for work so its not 100% needed but the car will run with out them if i got this straight...
i know a trick for the RX-7 guys on how they cool there car.... and we all know they run hot... but anyways get little mini efans for the OILCOOLER! DOES WONDERS! real talk.... and when it comes to track days get misters (for like spraying plants) for the rad. u can drop 50 degrees with sparyin the rad. after a few runs...
Well me and a buddy took everything off that is not needed, and the car is ready for its su's, the exhaust got blown up! like the muffler blew in half im assummin thats why it shot a fire ball and sounded like a gun shot...
