  1. I'm in the market for some 6 x 9 speakers for my 240z. I have been out of the car stereo game for a long time, not sure what good anymore. I was looking on crutcfield web page and saw a few speakers I'm interested in. Would you guy's look at them and give me recommendation, as I have not heard any of the play. I listen to a wide range of music from old school Hip Hop, top 40, soft rock and reggae.   2. WARNING STAY AWAY FROM Auto Computer Technologies. I sent this guy my computer and wiring for my LS 1 swap. He told me it would take four weeks I got my parts back 11 weeks later. I had to hound him down for six long weeks before I got my parts back. He stopped answering his phone, and E-mail. Dealing with this guy is a hassle. Do you self a favor and call the Guy Ron recommended.
  3. I finally got my 240z running last night. Boy is this thing loud , scared the hell out of last night when I first got it running. Let me take the time to thank Hybridz, lots of good info. on this site not mention members. Speaking of members there are a few I would like to thank. 1TUFFZ, EVILc, Scott ( Grenade300)for the write up and returning my emails and phone calls especially RON (rwwisnesley).   4. unfortunately I did not use pay pal or E-BAY I called him up and told him what I needed . He told to send him the part and a money order for $275. the price to reprogram the computer and do the harness.
  5. I sent my wiring harness and computer to have them converted for my LS 1 swap into my 240z. The guy told me he needed a month to get it ready. I send them out on 1/29/08, called him on 2/29/08 about my parts and he had not started on it . He told me he was going to work on it and I would have them in a week, I called a week later only to find he still had not touch my parts. I called him the following week and still nothing. He promised he would have it done last Friday and mailed out on Saturday I have not gotten it as of yet. I have tried to called him the last two day and he's not answering his phone. Left a few massages he's not calling me back.   6. Thanks Joey. I did some searching and found the LS 7 clutch kit at a very good price. at the same parts place you recommend here's the link . I will be calling them on Monday.   7. I in the middle of my LS 1( 02 ss camaro ) swap, remove the tranny today to install the clutch line . While I had the tranny off I took off the clutch to inspect it, found it needs to be replaced. I have been looking for a replacement .Called Advance auto parts and they have a kit for $ 430 (Zoom). Would any of you, guys have and experience with this clutch, or have a recommendations on a good clutch. I will be using the car as a nice weather driver, no track or drag racing. The motor is stock and I don't plan on any power HP. up grade.

  9. anyone running Autometer (ultra lite) gauges. I'm thinking of getting a set for my 240Z when I install my ls1. Would like to see pic' of them installed in a dash. If anyone have these gauges will you please post some pic.
  10. I would like to thank all of you for your advise, asecially Z48LT for the link to the post by gvincet about parting out a car. After reading that post I have decided to buy my package deal and call it a day. Not only the post convenst me that parting was not for me, but what really sealed the deal was when I looked at gvincent pic's http://album.hybridz.org/showphoto.php?photo=15517&cat=500&ppuser=13564 in his gallery and saw that the engine comes out the bottom of the car. I don't have that kind off time as it looks to be a lot of work. Time that I could spend getting my car back on the road.
  11. OK guy's I found a wracked 00- camaro 43k miles that I can get for $4000 for the whole car shipping is $600. Or I can buy a complete pull out engine 47k miles tranny wiring and computer for $4750 shipped. What do you guy's think would be a better deal. I'm leaning toward the whole car as I can part it out and get some money back. My only concers is it seams that the 02 is more disarible as to having the LS2 heads. Is the LS2 heads really worth me not buing the whole car?
  12. I'm shopping around for my LS 1 swap. I have not been able to find a 00-02 engine 6 sp tranny combo with good miles at affair price. I have come across two engines about 100 mile away from. one is an 02 with 12k miles for $4200 with is 60 miles away. The other is an 00 with 42k miles for $3500. Both engine's are Auto. I really want a 6 sp. tranny. I though of buying the 02, and than sell the auto tranny and buy a 6 sp. how when I add up my estimate it would me more costly to go this way than if I could find a low miles engine six speed combo. I did speak to a guy Buffalo ,N. Y that claims to have 12k mile 02 ss motor and tranny combo wiring computer for $4650. shipped to me. The only thing is I' not sure I can TRUST HIM. So these are the choices I am looking at 1 buy the one from N.   15. Hi I have a 240zt that I'm thinking of doing the LS 1 swap to. I have been reading about the swap for a few days now, it's appealing to me so far. I was hoping there were someone in the area that has an LS 1 swap or any V 8 swap that I could speak to about their before I make a decision. Thanks Carl

  18. Pete, I just checked the plate on the side of the block, I was wrong it reads 50 thousand. would you have any idea what that would make the compression. Also the pistons are dish
  19. pete, I did check the timming,and is's at 25 degree at 3500 rpms. Also the plate on the side of the engine that was placed there when the engine was rebuild by the builder has broed 50mm stamped on it. also I belive the top of the pistons had 50mm on them as well. Yes the pistons are dome. Are you saying the compression is not too high for my set up. Thanks
  20. I just got my 240zt running . The bad news is I can't seam to get the ping under control above 7psi. I have up the fuel and turn down the timing to all the way and it still pings. Here's a list of my set up N42 BLOCK felpro head gasket BORE 50MM OVER N42 HEAD STOCK T-3 TURBO 370CC INJECTORS SUPRA INTERCOOLER SDS fuel only computer 77- DISSY. RECURVED TO 15 DEGREE OF TOTAL TIMING BASE TIMING SET TO 10 DEGREE MSD 6BTM BOX SET TO BACK THE TIMING OFF 3 DEGREE UNDER BOOST A friend of my tells me the problem lay in the head as it not right for a turbo application, because of the "quench area". He said if I were to install a P90 head the car will not ping and I can up the boost to m goal of 14psi. Is he right. I thought there were people on here that have ran the N42 with a turbo with out any problem. any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  21. I have always had the ground at the battery, I just check and it getting good ground as the relay click on and off when remove and replace the ground at the battery.
  22. Well I just install my new relay board, still have the same problem. No power the EUC is not powering up.
  23. I have had megesquirt installed on my car for a year now, and my car still does not run right. I have had to send my unit back to DYI AUTOTUNE twice for repairs. The firs time I lost and injector driver then coil driver. The unit has had problems controlling spark, it would run fine for a while then dies on me leaving me stranded. I had to have the car towed home three times. After fighting with the spark control for 9 mounts I bought a MSD-6BTM box, which give me reliable spark control, and just use the fuel side of the ECU. The car runs but I still have a problem in the high RPS range as the car would not rev pass 4800rpms. It feels like at that rps or higher the revlimiter comes on. I check an the limiter is not set. Saturday I was out driving trying to figure out the High Rpms problem when the car just died. Looks like I have lost the main power from the relay board. My experience with Megasquirt have not been positive, but there are a lot of guys that have good luck with it. The ironic think is I was the one that asked DYI to build me a 3.0 board and document it for other Z guys to use , also got my friend Chris to draw up the wiring diagram for the relay board that’s on their site. My box was the first one and the documentation in their web site is from my box. megesquirt is a good product if you have time to play with it trouble shoot etc. But for a guy like me SDS(for what I have in this system I could have bought SDS a long time a go) would have been a better product as I don’t have the time to read and post on the internet when I have a problem. Which is some of the reason I have not gotten car running right one year after the install.
