  1. does anyone have a complete setup list for this to work? what is MS? Ya, i would have to convert to a different fuel setup, but that isn't too bad, cause i am going turbo sometime in the future anyways.
  2. I have done that aleady, and it runs too rich down low to make up for the correct mixture up top. if i run it like this it will fill the crankcase with gas. The cheapest thing for me to do is order some re-profiled needles. but i called ztheropy and they didn;'t have anything for me.
  3. that rb26 pan will not work. you gotta have a rear sump. i already tried this. if you somehow converted it to a rear sump, then were talking.... if anyone can pull this off, lmk.
  4. i personally want to stick with the l24 in this car. I like how it has a shorter stroke and revs a little better than the l28. if power was my only goal with this car i would swap in an rb26 with a massive turbo. or just a stock ka makes more power than the l28. my goal is more power with this current setup. the su carbs, i hear, do not have the throttle responce that the accelorator pumps on the webers provide. i also want to beable to change jets and tune the entire rpm range without calling around for custom made su needles. I am also just wanting to have fun and learn a new type of carberator. besides, i have always wanted a set of tripples since i first bought the car back when i was 17. the su carbs leave alot to be desired when i comes to tuning. i have a wideband and just wish i could change some jets or whatever to adjust afr's at whatever rpm range i want.
  5. hey guys, my daily driver 240z has an l24 with a stock bottom end, with 215 psi compression with maxima head and stage 1 cam from schneider with spring kit. i make 140hp to the wheels. i have z theropy su carbs, and i made my own 3" exhaust. but they lean out at 4-7thousand rpms even with sm needles. i know this becuase i have a wideband hooked up. I love the ease of tuning and low maint. and the very high reliability of the SU carbs. I just want more power. i know i can make some more power with different carbs or intake. I want to get some tripple carbs or an efi itb setup. but i don't want to spend much more than $1,000 or so. If someone was selling a tripple carb set used for $600 i would buy it. But i don't know what is the most user friendly carb set, that i can get parts easily. what do you reccomend for carbs? also for efi, i don't want to go too crazy with initial cost. but the tuning would be alot easier and consistant than carbs. what do you guys think? BTW, i use my car for autocross, daily driving, rallycross, and drag racing. I also want to be able to drive it long distances without any problems, and i want to beable to get 20mpg if possible or better. i hear stories of ppl getting over 20-25+mpg with tripple carbs when tuned properly. anyways, thanks!
  6. Hi, I'm trying to contact Speed shop thagard, for an rb26 pan, does anyone have contact info like a phone number? the website is dead. thanks...
  7. pretty good price. but i don't weld aluminum yet.
  8. that looks like a single pass, i am looking for a double. also it says 1-6 days to ship. i have been screwed on ebay, saying they will ship something, but they don't till later and i never get the item till after the race date. are you selling it? if so i might be interested only if you can ship it quickly. I'm in 92128 how long will that take?

  10. I forgot to mention: My sponsor, Aimco clutches, is offering discounts when you mention our racing team. I have used 4 clutch sets so far on my cars with very good results. http://www.aimcoclutches.com/index.php if you call and deal with Jimmy directly you will get a better price! call them 1800-594-0825 ask for Jimmy Mention my name, Justin, and that I built a 240z for grassroots motorsports racing and he will give you a big discount. he is also knowlageable, so tell him your setup and hp and he will set u up with a clutch, they also sell lightened flywheels and Stock OEM clutches. Remember you must talk to Jimmy and you must be very specific on what you need and the more polite and specific, the better chance of a bigger discount. haha! For example, if you have 200hp then order a clutch that can handle more than that, not somthing that is right at that limit. Or if you rev to 8,000rpms, you gotta let him know. he has stage 4, stage 5, upon request and he will piece together a custom set if you need it. Thanks!
  11. Need a aluminum double pass racing radiator for a 240z. NEEDs to be in my car before Friday. I'm racing rally event. Thanks! contact Justin: subtle_driver@yahoo.com 760-315-2372
  12. thanks alot man! hey im stoked that your gonna do it too! not a common swap that is done. but i think its gonna be the next big thing. sorry i didn't catch the napz tranny part. i was getting tired of scanning through all the arguing and such. i wouldn't know about that tranny, but i think it is shorter than the 240sx transmission based on what my mechanic friend who owns an older nissan truck said. he wanted to swap in a ka, but he said the trans was too long or something on the 240sx and he would have to shift farther back. but thats just what he said.... but ya, if it works for you then be sure to show a couple pics for me when your done. don't let the secret die with you when you go 200mph with the turbo setup! anyways, good luck! and give me a halla if you want some tips on turboing it and random questions. glad to help if i can. later man.
  13. I have both the turbos you mentioned, the front housing is large on the HY35, but the exhaust housing is smaller, very simular to running a t3/t4, it is not a twin scroll, it has a t3 flange. the WH1C has a twin scroll and is alot heavier and a little bigger on the exhaust side. the hy35 spools up fast and at around 3k rpms. I love it! its been handling 25psi of pressure very nicely. they are designed for 30psi, and it sounds like a semi when i go! Way louder than almost any other turbo i have used or worked with! i just love that insanely loud rushing sound!
  14. what is the ka24de out of? if 240sx, and you want to make over 300hp-under 400, i would go with a ka transmission. the output shaft from your stock driveshaft will slip in, you just gotta shorten it, should only cost $80 or less to do that. i made my 98 240sx ka fit nicely with stock 240sx trans. simply line up the shifter. make a trans mount, then line up the engine and make xmember. wow, looks like alot of people are doing ka swaps. I wonder if my posting of a working setup helped some people dream this up. my build... http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=149772 well good luck, be sure to take measurements before you choose a trannny setup, whatever you decide, and watch out for the oil pan and crossmember up front. good luck!
  15. good luck with the altima swap. i rebuilt an altima and a 240sx ka24de. totaly different quality level. the 240sx ka has a cradle-made in Japan, the altima ka does not-made in mexico. but hey, if you can pull it off, i would like to see pics of it. you will need to install the motor about 2 inches or less from the back of the block to the firewall if you want the pan to fit and the tranny to line up in the hole. I think your gonna have issues with the distributer mainly. cut a hole in the firewall and gut out the dash to make it fit. if you want it to be farward your gonna have to make a custom oil pan, and get used to shifting under the dash. you can always attach the transmission, (hrmmm i think its gonna be sideways if you use your stock oil pan....) then try to lower it down and avoid hitting the crossmember and the hood latch just for the S&G to see where it sits, if at all.... basicly, IMHO, you are looking at intense level of fabrication just to make it work with the FWD Mexico KA. Or you could get an altima tranny, and make a rear-mid-engine setup! Ya, I used to have a 98 altima, cool, but i hated the limited clearance for the intake and the timing chain, not to mention the tranny... check out my ka24de-t 240z build, its for sale. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=149772 good luck with it!
  16. News! We got on Speed Channel! Here is a link to the official Mobil 1 site for the feed if you missed it last week: http://grid1.tv/#browse/media_vault/tribes?id=1_227 They flew in from NY to film us racing, then they sent the media to be processed in England, then it shows up on speed channel in the USA and other countries. The car is running n/a since it was autocrossed at the last race (left alone since the Speed channel filmed it racing last month), the turbo kit is ready to bolt on (takes an hour) and i have a tune for both setups. I haven't had time to get the car ready to sell as im starting my own racing series in San Diego for 300/400 Treadwear street tires. www.SDclubRacing.com Check it out could use some input for rules and always could use some help and sponsors. We are done racing, i pmed you the info. and you are definitly not the first to show interest in this awsome turbo race car
  17. Just found this on the GRM website: http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/events/west-coast-challenge/ check out the pic of the mustang.
  18. if you get an ecu tune *caugh, E-mance.com* it will last and make power. tell em you saw this on the hybrid-z forum and subtle_driver sent you. he will give a little discount if you say that.
  19. cone killer? he didn't seem interested in 240z's. . . He's more of a mustang guy.
  20. what price are you looking to pay for it?
  21. Kaustav, one of my 7 team members, filmed 3 passes at this event! Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3gxQpe4S68 Team Midnight Boba and Screaming Yellow Zonkers. The yellow bug team (Zonkers) has some special engine, i dunno how they got it for under a $1000. oh well. we still beat them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lf9-U9Yeae4 Thunderbox (Corolla) and Cone Killers (Mustang 5.0 with wet 200 shot)! Some of our $1,000 competition. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATt6r4geGJY Zonkers and Boba, (seems like there was tree trouble with the yellow bug's lane, so it wasn't a head-to-head unfortunately) We got a 8.0 second 1/8th mile pass at 96mph. Pretty good for 205mm street tires. Supposedly 12.55 seconds with a calculator if it was a 1/4 mile. But i know its got potential high 7's 1/8th. The 1/8th mile is not easy! if you screw up the launch even a little, you are doomed for a slow time. takes alot of skill and no room for catch up. And Finally... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZD3Cz6prfXI Marching Idiots!
