  1. 6 feet of USB wire is going to act like an antenna to pick up any noise in the installation. Better to use a USB adapter that plugs straight into the computer and make ALL the wire RS232.
  2. Are you using a USB adapter? If so, what sort?
  3. You don't need a dedicated relay for the EBC; powering it from the fuel pump relay should work great.
  4. The solenoid may have frozen up - try putting a bit of engine oil in the ports and pulsing it. This often un-sticks one with the issue you describe.
  5. You would need to set FIDLE as boost control if using pin 30 for the boost control output. Can you post a copy of the tune that was actually reporting a conflict?
  6. I would fudge the numbers under Tools -> Calibrate AFR Table to get them to match up.
  7. Where are the MS3 and the MTX-L grounded?
  8. The not synced sounds like a dashboard display indicator problem. Try reloading the dashboard by right-clicking on it and select load/save.
  9. It's an MS3-Pro tuning clinic! 10. Try changing the next pulse tolerances to 50%. Also, can you get RPM on a Stim?
  11. Toyota logic level coils do not require Q16. That is OK, but using the MS3X IAC output would have been less hassle. Yes. I would use the VR input. It's a good all purpose RPM input (except for triggering off the coil, which you're not doing).
  12. We're planning a complete overhaul of our main website and the whole shopping cart.
  13. We've been planning a website overhaul, and the first step has been creating a new, high end home page for the high end section of our product lineup. Check it out here: http://www.ms3pro.com/
  14. Under the ignition settings, make sure spark mode is set to EDIS, Basic Trigger, or Fuel Only.
  15. Make sure you are set up for a distributor based ignition and a wheel decoder - the regular Stimulator does not support wheel decoding, only the JimStim.
  16. You can use coolant temperature or cylinder head temperature, but either way, you'll want the engine temperature for warmup enrichment and idle control purposes.
  17. That would do it. Alternatively, you could add two more spark outputs and skip the EDIS module.
  18. You will need to lock out the advance to control timing. Sorry, but I don't have detailed information for your particular distributor.
  19. There are multiple ways to wire the unit for EDIS, but using D14 for the SAW output is not supported on MS2. See the EDIS notes starting here for the latest recommendations. http://www.msextra.com/doc/pdf/html/MS2V30_Hardware-3.3.pdf/MS2V30_Hardware-3.3-111.html
  20. MS3 firmware is publicly available. http://www.msextra.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=125&t=55011 The MS3 daughter card schematics were not released, but the MS3X expander board ones are. Unfortunately, we had a couple companies making unauthorized clones of MS2, and did not want to see the same happen to MS3. The MS3-Pro is intended, straight up, as a commercial product with closed source hardware, although its source code is published just like the regular MS3. While most of the releases you've seen lately have been on the commercial side of things, development on the DIY side hasn't been tied off either. We have recently put out a couple more kits (such as the TransStim in kit form) and there are other solder-it-yourself items in the pipeline. I'm not sure I quite understand what complains you have about our support team and return policy, but if you believe we have any areas where we need improvement in that department, I would like to hear from you. If you do not want to post them here, you can email them to websales@diyautotune.com.
  21. If it's losing sync, please post a tooth log (not a regular data log) of the sync loss and a copy of your MSQ. This will give me more to go on.
  22. 5 mm was copied from the manufacturer's data sheet, but in the real world, they work better with a much tighter gap. I'll update the listing.
  23. And we have the MSPNP base map online as well: http://www.megasquirtpnp.com/mspnpp_maps.php The MSPNP ships with this, of course, but it can be useful for getting a head start on a wire-in installation. We're also running a 2JZ in a 240SX with a wire in harness and MS3-Pro.
